Last minute deal with Tui, spent 1 week with husband mid September . First time to Dominican Republic. Flights were amazing with Tui extra space seats service was brilliant drink and food non stop As an All Inclusive hotel it is good. Food was pretty good although couple of times the buffet food was luke warm Pizza ovens were excellent fresh omelette made each morning great selection of food all day Friendly staff, cocktails varied depends on which member of staff made them Oriental fusion restaurant was excellent when visited on our second evening. Managed to book again but a very different experience .. lack of staff, lack of wine, ordered same dessert as previously was bought something different, witnessed waiters thumbs in a person's pudding whilst carrying. Very chaotic Rooms were basic although very clean Very comfy beds Lacking a bin in the room and towels far too small Water filling stations work very well Loved the coffee shop Watersports were good Unfortunately they allow locals to use the facilities at the weekend and the vibe completely changed more security and chaos in the pool area Breakfast had a que which did not happen during the week. Booked couple of trips directly with Viva whilst there. Snorkeling was not good especially compared to Egypt. Boat trip was good fun plenty of rum. Day trip to Limon Waterfall was an experience we will never forget for various reasons... it was an adventure! Overall as we paid half price was a good holiday would not be as impressed if paid full price.

Home after my 10 night holiday. Honest review. Positives Lovely clean hotel and pool. Lovely restaurant staff. Relaxing apart from the weekends. Restaurants were very nice. Buffet as you would expect in all inclusive a little repetitive but nice and something for everyone. Entertainment was good. If a little short in the evening's unless you are all over 18. Beach watersports and archery good. The excursions were all great i highly recommend the snorkeling boat trip from the hotel bay. Highly recommend the la hacienda park 7 experiences in 1. Amazing day out. Quads were also great. The coffee shop was lush. Beach access was great. But the sea is not your brochure sea. Very murky. Cleaners done an amazing job. Negative The weekends. The hotel opens to locals for the weekend and the whole hotel goes into chaos. No plates left at buffet, no tables and you cant get a drink for love nor money. Most of the locals were all very pleasant and even with language barriers the children joined in and played with us in the pool. But the noise and chaos was just unpleasant. We was made to feel like this was no longer our holiday and we was maybe in the way by many. Mostly bar staff believe it or not. While they were visiting the WiFi became non existent too. Language barrier. English is the minority and most staff seem annoyed at you for not understanding Spanish. It was extremely off putting and I wont be returning for this reason I felt like I wasn't welcome. Dont do saona island from this hotel. Its such a long day and you only get just over 2 hrs on island and the toilets don't flush on island, the showers dont work they trickle dirty water. Its just not worth the travel. It was 13hrs out for 2hrs on island. So many better trips to do. Bring mosquito spray. I have been bitten everywhere and they are unavoidable. Would i recommend. Yes but be prepared English not spoken by most you will have to fight to be noticed at bars. Avoid the hotel at the weekends.

If I could leave no stars, I would. When we arrived, Front Desk told us our room was ready. We get to the room and our key cards do not work. I walked back to Front Desk who reprogrammed my key, walked back and it still did not work. I walk back a 2nd time to be told they would send an engineer to investigate. He was able to open the door with his key as well as housekeeping. It took FOUR HOURS with security and maintenance to finally get the keys to work. In that time, we were asked to walk back and forth from the room to the front desk 5 times. We asked to have our room changed and were ignored. We asked to speak to a manager and they refused. We asked for compensation and were denied. Most of the staff had no sense of urgency or sense of HOSPITALITY. Hector, the engineer, was the only one who would advocate for us to the rest of the staff. The restaurants that needed reservations were difficult to reserve. We did end up getting reservations and each time the restaurant was more than half empty. The food in general was subpar at best. In the buffet, dishes were dirty, staff would drop food, pick it up and put it right on people’s plate. We witnessed bugs in drink machines, the staff would scoop it out and continue serving. There was a separate pool with a swim up bar filled with little kids throwing soda and other drinks inside the water. There was no functioning WIFI the entire stay. The sports bar didn’t have any functioning TV’s. The sheets in the room were extremely musty. The shower would allow water to soak the floor. By day 3 there was an infestation of ants in our room.. although we never ate or had food in the room. They were all over our shoes and backpack. I have bites on my ankles! I could not get out of there fast enough.

The hotel is about 1hr and half from airport, the journey in the shared coach was ok! we realised very quickly that this resort is very isolated and unless you are participating in the excursions you cannot leave the hotel on your own to explore! Nothing outside to explore no shops! The shop in the hotel very very expensive 4 items cost £50 and that included a packet crisp suntan lotion mosquito spray and a red bull drink! never used it again! the room we were given was a room that had a few of the trees only, so best to book rooms overlooking the beach or you will be staring at fences and trees. we requested a room change and the next day this was done very quickly and kindly by Customer support team. Juice (apologies for spelling) thanks to her and Juan Charles. The food was very bland and not much variety Every Friday to Sunday the locals are in the hotel and as they are Spanish speaking they are given priority if you not speaking Spanish then get behind the queue!!!! the weekends are mayhem and your lucky enough to get food left over once they have been in!! I saw that they also got their picnic boxes and bags at the ready to take food away. one morning came for breakfast there was nothing left! Housekeeping don't speak no English so hard to communicate what you need!! If your are looking for a relaxing and quiet holiday make sure you are not including weekends as you will spend it with the locals!! My husband is a Chef! and the food standard was not good he even tried to explain to the chef there the meat needs cooking more and the vegetables were hard! don't seem to care! The restaurants- away from main restaurant needs a lot more to entice guests very disappointed I didn't bother with one of them and one of them we was looking forward to the chef doing his performance he only entertained the Spanish speaking guests who filmed him on tiktok!! thought it was very rude! totally ignored non speaking Spanish guests we walked out felt very awkward!! Mosquito sprays needed you will be bitten alive!!!!! aybe you should warn your guests if you don't speak Spanish then don't come!! the hotel should be more hospitable, my experience of Dominic Republic was not good as first time visiting this Country I don't think will bother again, we are supposed to come away and encourage family/friends to go!! not the other way. round. As a frequent traveller this was on my list to visit and I wished I didn't bother! There is also no English music only Spanish when asked to change to reggae was told the locals don't like reggae! the disco seems to be only for Spanish locals filling it up dancing away enjoying themselves whilst we stood and watched! the DJ we asked for some English music or we leave he ignored us so we left never went in again! The entertainment especially Michael Jackson show was brilliant and we could see the entertainment staff really do their best! The only thing enjoyable was the beach and the Sun, lucky had a book to read no variety of music to listen to! Hotels have to have Staff able to communicate even basic English, and be able also to entertain European guests not only Spanish speaking. the staff came alive when the locals were in!!! On checking out was asked are we coming back and the answer is hell no!!! TUI the flight was brilliant and the food on plane was good. will use TUI again

Great place and Funtime with our two kids. Emiliana was super special playing with our kids and offering assistance. Alessandro was a great guide and coach teaching us to sail. All superb, but what was really disturbing was the weekends when the locals fill the place and things get rough and rather out of hands. You pay a lot of money to feel that you’d rather be somewhere else to avoid the noise, the lack of respect, and lack of personal space.
