Vila Mare

We arrived at the hotel at 10 am and were accommodated right away, which was great. The hotel had a terrace in the courtyard. Next to the courtyard was an old building that looked like it was from the war, but there was nothing we could do about it. The room was smaller but cozy. The air conditioning worked, there were 2 chairs and 1 table on the balcony. The TV was probably tuned to Hungarian - we couldn't change it, so we at least tuned to YouTube. There were only 3 hangers in the closet. The refrigerator was locked in a cabinet and overheated regularly. We were worried that it might catch fire. We reported it to the reception, but it was apparently normal, since the surface of the refrigerator repeatedly overheated. The beach service was okay. There was no option to pour coffee at breakfast. As part of the all inclusive, coffee (espresso) was free during the day, but we found out about this information by accident. Lunch always included salad (fortunately, the variations changed at least a little every day), soup (which was unfortunately still more or less the same), main course and dessert. But what really annoyed me was that when we asked for a cola to drink, we got a regular cheap cola. However, they had regular Coca Cola in the fridge at the bar. But only customers who ordered and paid for it got it. And what about us, who paid for an all-inclusive stay? What is the difference between us and them? I asked the TUI delegate about it, who said she would find out the reason, but she never called me back. It was similar with the juice - I would have expected quality juice as part of the all-inclusive, but it was more lemonade than juice. The bathroom was really extremely small - it lacked basic things: hangers for clothes, a holder for shampoo, conditioner, shower head, etc. in the shower. The toilet paper holder was unnecessarily low to the ground - so we had toilet paper on the sink or on the trash can. There was also no bath mat. The shower had a short side glass cover, so the water always splashed onto the floor. According to the Tui offer, there were supposed to be slippers in the room, which was not true. We are from the Czech Republic and we would give the hotel a rating of more like 3***, maybe 3 and a half***.

Villa Mare is a very cozy hotel with a beautiful view of the sea. It feels just like home, with comfortable rooms, a warm atmosphere, and attentive staff. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking to relax in peace and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. Highly recommended for those who appreciate comfort and amazing views!

This was our third holiday in Durres but the first stay at this hotel, this time we took our children and grandchildren, so a party of 10. We had 3 rooms all with a balcony on the rear elevation, although the view of the sea is mostly blocked by an apartment block, being West facing caught the sun all day. The bedrooms were spacious and very clean with air conditioning and good en-suite showers. The breakfasts which were included in the cost were substantial and delicious with a cooked plate each morning and variedly accompanied by freshly cooked donuts, croissants, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal if required, tea, coffee, fruit juice etc. The staff were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, they made us feel so, welcome. The location is fairly central to the beach with good access to a variety of bars and restaurants. We would highly recommend this hotel for both friends and family holidays.

Stayed here for 3 nights in feb in family room on second floor , room had three single beds and one double bed. Room was clean and tidy with a fridge in room. There were sheets and blankets on the beds. Shower room had plenty of towels provided , toilet seat and flush a little loose but not a problem. There was a small balcony with partial sea views. Breakfast was brought to you, I would recommend they have a menu for quieter months so you can choose what you want otherwise you are served a fixed breakfast , breakfast was fine and no issues. Restaurant a little cold but they did put heater on when they noticed we cold. Hotel run by a small Team of which all are very friendly. You can only pay by cash so had to run over to ATM to get money out to pay the bill . For the price of the room and breakfast included it was good value for money . Hotel located near plenty of places to eat .

Have just eaten breakfast here, place is stunning, spotless and staff are extremely pleasant and went out of their way to understand our english. Breakfast was the best weve eaten since we have arrived in albania. It was huge, and the price was excellent. 1100 lek for 2 omelettes, bread and large water.
