We stayed at L’Oree Des Pistes for a week 5-12 April. 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 13. First impression was that the hotel was clean and modern. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was easy and our room was ready earlier than advertised. There is water and some little treats in reception throughout the day. Our Room was modern, and appeared recently renovated. It is not overly large with 3 single beds (2 together for a double) and a trundle bed, and there isn’t a lot of furniture (simple side tables). However, one large wardrobe to share was enough for our needs. It would have been nice to have some drawers but the minimalist approach made it feel more spacious and we managed. 2 deck chairs on the balcony were fab and meant we could people watch over the square outside. This could be loud at times, but never into the evening. The maid was amazing, the beds made daily and towels changed when put on the floor. You could hear water running through the walls in the morning when other guests were getting up/showering. We were getting up anyway. You could see the Jandri lift from the balcony. The location would be perfect when there is plenty of snow at resort level. For us, you could not ski back unless you were an advanced skier. My husband did this and enjoyed the challenge. We booked with Crystal and lessons were with ESS. The Jandri is an amazing lift with great capacity and right on the doorstep. However, please note that the Crystal ski school meet point starts nearby but midweek it moved up the mountain - due to the snow and progression- and this was not at the top of the Jandri! My family went up the Jandri and skied down to the new meet point, but I walked to the nearby chair lift to go direct to Les Cretes, so that I did not need to ski first thing when it was icy. This was all fine but does make a difference when you think you are ski in/out and near the ski school meeting point. The restaurants on the mountain were all good, however toilet facilities were not great! I’m told that’s typically French! The main restaurant right at the top of the Jandri was a favourite as it had delicious fish and chips and hot chocolate! The toilets here were also better. We visited the ice caves and these are worth half an hour of your time to do something different. A great experience to use the funicular and amazing views! We were half board. Breakfast was plentiful! Lots of choice even for fussy kids, with cereal plus hot and cold options. Delicious croissants. It was busy at times but you could still get a table. Dinner was also plentiful, with a buffet salad starter and soup/bread. Then a choice of mains - 3 that remained on the menu and 3 new choices each day. Plus, a kids choice. See attached photos for some of the menus we had. My youngest was a bit fussy with potatoes but it was no problem to get some chips on one evening instead of the advertised. Wine and water were on tap and a choice of fruit syrups to add to water. Dessert was also a small buffet choice. My father in law joined us for dinner and they allowed him to pay directly and join us. The staff were very friendly and worked hard to clear tables. We were not rushed out at all. The bar downstairs was quiet most nights but showed the big football games. There were board games to borrow and one evening a live singer. Staff again very friendly. They couldn’t do coffee/hot choc in the evening as no milk, this was a shame but we popped up to the nearby bar and got some to bring down. The ski locker rooms are in the basement. They have two rooms, one smaller than the other. I thought it was going to get mega busy in there but it never did. There was side access out to go round to the Jandri. Nearby is the Spar supermarket, if you’re early enough they have a range of hot and cold lunch sandwiches and muffins. The main high street is right there nearby. We didn’t eat out much as we were half board. We did enjoy amazing take out pizza from Chalet a Pizza (10 mins walk). If you’ve stayed to the end of this review, thanks. Overall we were very impressed with the Belambra and would definitely recommend a stay here. It’s a functional 3 star with a great location and great staff. We are now looking at a sister property for our next holiday but would return to stay here if we visit Les Deux Alpes again. Thank you Belambra for a memorable holiday!

This hotel has many positives. The location at the bottom of Jandri lift is amazing, just a minute in ski boots to get on to gondola. The downside to the location is noise at night. Most nights there was shouting outside until the small hours, obviously not the hotels fault but affected our sleep. Beds very comfortable, spacious rooms. Shower or bath both lovely. Good level of room service each day. Breakfasts were amazing, excellent quality of a variety of foods. The dinners really let this hotel down unfortunately. The buffet starter and desert were fine, but the a la carte main courses were, with a few exceptions, disappointing. Overcooked dry steaks, soggy pasta, overcooked veg, unusual combinations, meals were cold one evening. On the plus side the wine on tap was a nice bonus. Staff were all brilliant, helpful and friendly. It would be better at breakfast if tables could be relaid after another family has eaten as everyone ends up scrabbling around for cups, cutlery etc and taking off other tables. Bar / games area was good, baby-foot, pool, board games etc. All in all a good hotel and I would return, but on a breakfast only basis.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Comfortable very clean room with constant hot water. Kettle and tea and coffee provided. We were lucky to have a balcony which faced the afternoon sun. The staff here are courteous, professional and very friendly. Laurianne (sorry not sure if I've spelt her name correctly) made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The food both at breakfast and dinner was delicious and well presented. Five courses if you could manage it at dinner and wine included. We had the same allocated table at dinner, so no waiting for a table and we could eat at whatever time we wished after 7pm. The bar is very nice with comfy sofas. The location is perfect for quick access to the slopes via the new Jandri cable car. I wouldn't hesitate to return.
