Advertised as a hostel but we booked through Crystal Ski expecting a private room. We checked in to find we had been given a 6-person room for the 2 of us. Really clean and tidy and obviously more than adequate for the 2 or us. (6 would have been a squeeze but doable if you need to minimise costs). We arrived mid morning and couldn’t check in until later in the afternoon, which was a bit of a pain, but we parked ourselves in the bar for a couple of hours. Good selection of drinks at a price in keeping with resort (~€9/pint at time of writing). We had a lockable ski locker in the boot room with functioning boot warmers. We were half-board; breakfast was simple continental but high quality. There was only one batch of scrambled eggs each morning but it’s a minor gripe relative to the standard on offer. Fresh coffee was just the thing to get you going in the morning! The food really was superb for what we would’ve expected. At the evening meal we were able to choose from the a la carte set menu - no buffet here. Location is as described, less than 5 min walk to lifts on either side of the valley. The bar area did have a DJ event on once or twice, which was fun and you can take it or leave it. The noise insulation was good enough so that it wasn’t intrusive on the top floor where we stayed. There were a number of large corporate bookings during our stay that almost took over the bar/restaurant, which wasn’t as fun as being with other holidaymakers, but it still made for some atmosphere and on balance didn’t harm the trip too much. If I returned to Les Deux Alpes, I would have no hesitation in staying here again, either with friends or family. Les Deux Alpes is a beautiful place and the conditions higher up were great even in March. The vast majority of resort is cruisy blue runs. It’s a fun ski area and ideal for beginners-early intermediate, but we did find ourselves repeating the same runs pretty quickly when compared to places like Tignes or 3-Valleys. The slow and slightly congested lift network meant there was an hour of travel to get up to the top of resort each morning, but will complete construction of a new major gondola before the 2024/25 season which should really alleviate this.

There were good and bad things about our stay. Location was good. Staff were friendly Reception was clean and tidy Boot rooms were clean and tidy Bar and bar area was nice. Breakfast was nice. Rooms were clean. Rooms 306 and 406 smalt of sewage during the whole stay, it was quite sickly to come home to and wake up to. We paid 30 Euros per person on the first night for a Buffet. Unfortunately the food was not up to it and we felt that we had wasted our money. Two out of our family of 5 chose not to eat it. It could be very noisy in the hotel during the night with lots of shouting that often woke us up a number of times at all hours.

Very good service and nice comfy beds. Own charger, own light, own safe and a good ski locket. Breakfast is nice and the bar is always open. Nice events and a nice location. Next to a supermarket en not far from the centre. Nice showers and good view.

We had an enjoyable week’s stay at The People’s Hostel in Les Deux Alpes. The location was a major highlight, with the town center just a short walk away, offering easy access to restaurants, shops, and bars. The hostel is ideally positioned, only a few minute’s walk from two chairlifts, making it convenient for access to the slopes. The room itself was decent, offering the basic comforts we needed after a long day of skiing, and we were pleased with the cleanliness and the overall standard of the facilities. This is more like a hotel than a hostel. The bar staff were excellent and their Cocktails were excellent. However, a couple of areas that could be improved… First being the food. While it was convenient to have meals provided, the offerings were basic and repetitive throughout the week. This lack of variety, coupled with the number of guests dining in a relatively small space, made mealtimes a bit of a battle. It felt quite chaotic during peak hours. One of the most frustrating aspects of our stay was the ski locker heaters not working properly. With no way to dry our boots or gear overnight, we were forced to start each day with damp, cold boots. After a long day of skiing, the last thing anyone wants is to put on wet, uncomfortable footwear in freezing temperatures. This issue which lasted all week really put a damper on our mornings, and it felt like something that should have been fixed, especially given the nature of the activities in the area. It was a simple but significant detail that could have made our experience much more enjoyable. Overall, I would consider staying at The People’s Hostel again due to its great location and affordable pricing. The proximity to the town center and chairlifts made it an ideal spot for skiing, and the room was comfortable enough for a short stay. However, I would definitely skip the half-board food package next time. The meals, though convenient, were too basic and repetitive for my taste, and the dining experience was often a bit chaotic. I’d prefer to explore the local dining options instead, which would offer more variety and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, great location close to slopes, perfect ski storage, we had half board breakfast could do with little upgrade, maybe some fres veg, and for dinner some consistency from chefs, one of them was amazing 🤩
