Cortina was the home of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games 2026 in the Italian Dolomites. So the scenery is spectacular, with towering snow capped mountains and almost vertical forests as far as the eye can see. The B&B Hotel - Passo tre Croci Cortina is located about 15 minutes by car from the Cortina town, high up in the Dolomite mountain range. So you will be totally dependent upon the Hotel for everything, no local restaurants or shops, although you can always go for a quick mountain climb. When you think about remote hotels in mountainous areas with winter ski runs, images of mud covered boots and soggy skiers come to mind, and rustic hotels full of old, sturdy wooden furniture and drying rooms. Fortunately the Passo tre Croci Cortina Hotel does not conform to this image. It is a reasonably modern and well appointed hotel. The rooms, including the bathroom, are relatively spacious with plenty of storage surfaces for your suit cases. The bed was large and very comfortable and we had the luxury of second single bed as a secondary storage surface. The unusual feature of the bathroom was the availability of a separate bidet, perhaps a nationalistic Italian feature. The bathroom was very spacious with a large shower area. We were part of 40+ tour group so we had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The restaurant was functional if lacking a bit in aesthetics, although having experienced the breakfast melee in other hotels where guests with plates of food try to navigate from over crowded food areas to the restaurant tables, functionality is to be appreciated. The Croci Cortina, whilst not perfect, had better mastered the access logistics of a buffet breakfast for the masses and so breakfast was very streamlined. The breakfast fare could not be faulted with an extensive range of both and cold (continental) breakfast choices. The dinner (3-courses for EUR 28) was surprisingly good considering the Hotel had a captive audience of diners. There is 24 hours of hot water in the reception area for the coffee and tea addicts. So if you are happy to be away from the “big smoke” of down town Cortina, we can RECOMMEND the Passo tre Croci Cortina Hotel.

The hotel and location are excellent Beautiful mountain trails start from the hotel, including a trail to Lake Sorapis (but it fills with blue water by June) The view from the balcony is amazing. The birds sing delightfully, it's like sound therapy. The hotel staff is very kind and responsive I spent a wonderful 11 days here
