Hotel Pallanza

Great view from my 4th floor room. It is slightly frayed around the edges, but staff were lovely, architecture is beautiful, situation is just amazing and then there’s the cost. For where it is, the building, friendly staff, breakfast. Easily puts it as excellent. I arrived after a long drive, dumped my stuff and went and sat looking at the lake. A guy came over, I ordered a beer and trust me I was in heaven.

We stayed for 2 nights on the 4th floor in a large room with two sets of doors opening to spectacular views of the lake. A side window also opens to the mountains and beyond. Room well appointed, bed very comfortable and bathroom clean and fresh. The breakfast is excellent and more than an adequate way to start any day. The front reception staff went over and above superior service and overall our stay was an enjoyable and memorable experience. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Location excellent...very quiet rooms and very convenient for Pallanza facilities and boat station. Reception greeting and service at the front desk excellent. Breakfast ok...typical of the area. Main issue is with the Hotel fabric...it is need of a refurbishment....all starting to look a little dated. Decent value but it could be so much better with a facelift.

From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with friendly staff who took the time to explain how to get the best from where we were staying. There was a lift to our 3rd floor room and although the basic price was very clean and comfortable with a large ensuite bathroom. Our room was cleaned every day we were there and the bed made. The jewel of the hotel's crown is their breakfast which is superb: salads, meats, eggs, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts and best of all a great selection of pastries, tarts and pancakes. The waiters are attentive and always helpful. The hotel is in a great location, right on the lakeside frontage and is a minute's walk away from the ferries. Perfect! Visit the Borromean islands, Villa Taranto and Laveno for the trip up the mountain.

We wanted to finish our trip through Italy with a nice and luxurious place, so we booked this 4 star hotel. It turned out to be the worst one we had. You can tell this once was a place filled with luxury, but unfortunately that was something from the past. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation. The rooms are old and outdated. Not classic in a charming way, but things are just broken down and worn off. The mattress was really sagging what gave us the feeling of rolling out of bed. The minibar isn't being refilled and the bathroom was a bit smudgy. Don't be fooled by their website. They won't let you choose a scent and you want get a pillow menu by entering the hotel. By addressing the sagging mattress the solution was to turn it around, since there wasn't really a problem according to them. At the breakfast there was a lot to choose from. Not very fresh and not of a good quality but the variety was really nice. If you order coffee or cappuccino they will make you a really good one. The coffee was for sure the best thing of the hotel! Also most of the people working at the hotel were really nice and friendly as well. Especially the two men at the breakfast. The location of the hotel is perfect. We booked a room on the lake side. The view was stunning, this is a great benefit as well.
