I rarely write reviews like this, but this one is absolutely deserved. From the moment we arrived, the experience lacked any real sense of hospitality or personality. There was no welcome drink, no warm greeting, just a very transactional check-in. Unfortunately, that tone carried throughout the entire stay. Room Experience We were placed in a room with an adjoining door, which quickly became a major issue. Noise from the neighboring room carried straight through at 5:00AM at sometime earlier, the parents would well at their screaming kids and it wouldn’t stop till they left for the morning. It felt like they were in our room. Between the rude neighbours or the premium club people bothering you with phone calls each day to come to a special time share meeting, it was hard to get some sleep. Also, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep, the bed would make a hard cracking noise, I believe the bed coils were done in and broken. There were also several maintenance concerns. The glass door was falling off its hinges, the pergola over the bed was loose and wobbly, to the point it felt unsafe, and the jacuzzi mechanical access cover was broken and kicked in. These are not minor cosmetic issues. These are things that should be addressed immediately in any resort claiming quality standards. I spent the entire week waiting me valuable holiday time asking the front desk and manager for either a room change or at least a softer bed. Each time, I was told “we’ll see what we can do,” but nothing meaningful ever happened. I even advised the manager I was prepared to contact my travel representative to switch resorts. At one point, while actively trying to resolve the situation with the main manager, another front desk staff member told us we would need to check out of our room by noon, bring all of our luggage to the lobby, and wait, potentially all day, until another room might become available. No timeline, no guarantees. So essentially, we were expected to sit around all day with all of our belongings, including sensitive items, left sitting in the heat. Completely unacceptable, and honestly shocking customer service. Drinks and Bar Service The bar experience was equally frustrating. Beer was frequently warm, drinks were inconsistent and poorly made, and bartenders would often disappear into back rooms, leaving guests waiting. There were multiple times where you would stand there wondering if anyone was even working. There was no attentiveness or urgency. The main pool bar was in very poor condition, with part of it destroyed and a sharp, rusty metal edge exposed where guests sit in the water. This is both unsafe and unacceptable. At the beach, there were not enough lounge chairs or palapas, and many chairs were broken or unusable. The same issue extended to the main pool and lazy river, insufficient seating and poor upkeep. The beach bar itself was undersized and not equipped to properly service guests. The ocean side burger bar had ongoing refrigeration issues all week, resulting in warm beer. This could have easily been addressed by simply keeping drinks on ice, but no effort was made. Food Food was mediocre across the board. The buffet was repetitive, often overpicked, and frequently left with empty trays due to poor replenishment. The Italian restaurant was particularly disappointing. The pasta was overcooked, bland, and clearly being reused from a communal pan left sitting on a burner, resulting in burnt pieces being served. Given the open kitchen concept, it raised legitimate concerns about food handling and hygiene. Service and Overall Experience This was the biggest disappointment of the entire trip. There was zero follow up from management despite multiple complaints. No one checked in to ask how our stay was going. There was no survey, no proper send off, and no attempt to recover the experience. The entire stay felt very basic and impersonal. No one stood out, no one went above and beyond, and no one seemed to genuinely care. The towel card system was another unnecessary frustration, often requiring arguments with staff just to exchange or return towels, something we have never experienced at other Ocean properties. The Wi Fi was unstable and unreliable, frequently disconnecting for extended periods and offering inconsistent coverage throughout the resort. Final Thoughts This resort has potential and looks good on the surface, but it completely misses the mark where it matters most, guest experience and service. Between unresolved room issues, being asked to leave our belongings in the heat, poor bar service, warm drinks, mediocre food, and a complete lack of care from staff, this was a frustrating and disappointing vacation. Would I return? No. Would I recommend it? Also no. Rating 3.5 out of 5 stars

We booked this as a very last-minute anniversary trip after our previous holiday was cancelled. Our expectations are in line with the resort being 5 star and that we paid a large sum for our stay. This is very much a family-oriented hotel we have bared this in mind within our review as a young couple. Pros: Check-in was quick and easy (though we didn't receive welcome drinks). The food was a real highlight - great variety at the buffet and we especially enjoyed the Italian and Route 66 restaurants. Making reservations via the app wouldn't work at first but sorted quickly at reception. The pool area is huge with plenty of drink options, including the pool and red snapper bars, and table service was a nice touch. Though you did have to request cocktails with alcohol or you will receive virgin drinks. The alcohol may be watered down also as we struggled to get a buzz off the drinks, but I could be wrong! The resort itself is beautiful, and, despite forecasting rain/cloudy all week, we had weather most of our stay. Our room was spacious with a large balcony, and we were pleasantly surprised with an upgraded view. Staff at the House of Diamonds shop were also very friendly! Cons: We did request an anniversary banner for the room on arrival but we received a happy birthday banner instead. This wasn't planned as a surprise so we found it quite funny but if it was I would've been rather annoyed. Service was inconsistent — some staff were lovely, while others seemed uninterested. You have to get up early to reserve a sun bed or they will all be taken by 9 am which isn’t ideal as not everyone wants to wake up at 6 am on holiday. The resort either needs more sun beds (with umbrellas for shade too!) or have hard rules on beds being reserved. Tipping is expected which we're not used to being from the UK (service was majority based on tipping). We did always tip where possible in USD but we were struggled to break our larger bills for tips. Front desk weren't able to help, but some bellhops and bar staff were able to sort this for us. Nightlife is limited and entertainment is aimed at children mostly - though this is expected at a family-focused resort. Housekeeping was quite late (often 3-4pm), which was unusual. We also had minor room issues (TV not working properly, ceiling leak in the bathroom one night, wardrobe doors not closing properly). We weren't given WiFi instructions on arrival which meant paying extra to use mobile data initially. The on-site shop is very expensive, and snack options are limited outside of mealtimes ($14 for crisps)! There was also a power cut one day (completely understand this is out of the resorts control) though there was no communication from staff. It is difficult to get hold of the resort before arrival so if you need to speak to the staff before your stay ensure you email far in advance. Overall: We did enjoy our stay and would recommend this hotel for families. In our opinion, it doesn't meet 5-star expectations, but Jamaica itself is stunning and we would definitely return at resort better suited to us.

This was a great place to stay I would go again for sure !! Food was good and the facility was clean and attractive Couple of minor irritations ….. The coffee shop has long lines They need To have drip coffee as a self service section and half the line would go away , The staff was great , however a couple of female bar tenders seemed to have an attitude. For what we paid they should be excited to serve ! There were just a couple of them ….most staff were fantastic!!! The beach towel situation needs a revision. The towel shack opens too late and does not correlate to the time the pool opens . Silly that guests are swimming in AM , but can’t get the daily towel until later Also they actually ran out of towels a couple of days!! Other than that is was a great experience!!!
