Apartamentos Roca Verde

This was our 2nd stay at Roca Verde and we would return if the price was right. We had a 2 bed apartment this time which had a pool view and the main balcony got the sun in the afternoon. No real complaints apart from the beds are quite hard and we took our own pillows, as these were not comfortable when we stayed last time. The kitchen is quite small but we managed OK as we only really made drinks and snacks, I would imagine making full meals would be quite difficult. There is a 2nd small balcony off the kitchen which had a view of the sea. As we had an early flight we arrived well before check in had opened but I had emailed the hotel prior to our stay so our apartment was ready and we paid the 13 euro charge to check in early. The new gym is a great addition with a good variety of machines/weights. Pool area was nice. being there in the winter means it doesn't get the sun all day but it was easy to move around the 2 pools as lots of loungers so you could have a full day in the sun if you wished. All the staff were lovely and we had no issues with anyone. We were able to leave our suitcases with reception on our last day as our flight didn't leave until the early evening but there is an option to keep your room on for a fee. Due to us having made plans already we didn't require this but is good to keep in mind for next time. The surrounding area was quiet at night time so there were no issues sleeping or being disturbed.

We liked the hotel overall , the facilities were all good, things were in good condition, the bathroom was excellent and seemed newly refurbished, and the kitchen in the apartment was well equipped. The furniture was comfortable enough, and the staff were mostly very friendly, but one or two of the reception staff were less so. We were travelling for Pride, and the location worked well for us. It was about a 20-minute walk to the Yumbo Centre, which was perfectly fine. There was some loud music from the street-level bars until about 11 or midnight, but it didn’t bother us too much. Although we were overall very happy, the rooms could still be comfier: the beds were basic and just OK, and the pillows, towels, and soft furnishings could all do with an upgrade. It’s a bit sparse, and some decorations would make it feel warmer and more comfortable.

After leaving our AirBnB after just almost two days I managed to rebook us into the Roca Verde. First impression as we checked-in - very friendly staff, helpful, smiling, good English. I asked if I could look at a two bedroom apartment before booking , it was no problem for the staff , I liked the layout , new furniture, light & bright, good sized walk-in shower with plenty of hot water supply/pressure. Housekeeping is always present, everywhere clean & tidy. There are two pools with plenty of sun loungers - you can get large towels for the pool etc at the reception. Fitness studio is right next to the pool. Pool snacks & drinks are now available from ' Restaurante Palmira ' right next door - friendly staff, good breakfast/brunch menus ( cutlery spotlessly clean ) & evenings they do a buffet. Location is good, beach, shops, restaurants all within walking distance and public transport is close by. Taxis are in abundance with short waiting time. " hasta luego ".
