SECRETS LANZAROTE RESORT

We stayed at Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa for five nights in June to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and overall we had a wonderful stay. The hotel itself is beautifully presented with a calm, luxurious atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Being adults only made a real difference for us, creating a peaceful environment that was perfect for relaxing. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea, where we spent many quiet mornings and evenings simply enjoying the view. The hotel kindly surprised us with a complimentary bottle of cava and chocolate cake for our anniversary, and another cake arrived a few days later for my birthday. These thoughtful touches made our stay feel even more special. Breakfast offered an excellent selection every morning, with plenty of choice whether you preferred fruit and cereals or a full English breakfast. The freshly cooked eggs were particularly good. The only small criticism was that some of the hot food could have been a little hotter, although this didn't detract from our overall enjoyment. Jill is vegetarian and always found something suitable to eat, although we'd have liked to see a few more vegetarian options. The pool areas were relaxing and never felt overcrowded, and Puerto Calero itself was exactly what we were looking for. The marina is ideal for a leisurely stroll, with a good selection of restaurants overlooking the harbour. If you're looking for lively nightlife, Puerto del Carmen is probably a better choice, but if you enjoy peace, good food and a slower pace, Puerto Calero is hard to beat. We also took the Timanfaya National Park excursion, which is well worth doing if it's your first visit to Lanzarote. The island's volcanic landscape is unlike anywhere else we've been. If we had one minor observation, it would be that the breakfast staff were sometimes a little too quick to clear tables when guests went back for another course! So leave a book or phone on the table. Would we return? Without hesitation. We felt the hotel offered excellent value for money, and we'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing adults-only holiday in Lanzarote.

First time at a Secrets branded hotel after staying at many global hotel brands and I think it’s safe to say this was the best so far by some way. Everything was superb right from my delayed arrival late on a Friday , I was greeted by the reception team warmly and completed registration simply. As the hotel restaurants had all closed some 3hrs earlier the hotel had made a salad and meat selection for me which was delivered to my room and was extremely welcoming. The room I had booked was a deluxe preferred club double with sea view, the room was spacious and every amenity available. The hotel had a total of Eight places to eat ( not all open at the same time). World Cafe - Buffet with International cuisine. Preferred Club Breakfast - Portofino Restaurant Preferred Club Lunch - Oceana Restaurant Preferred Club Lunch - Barefoot Grill (Lunches in the pool area) Portifino - À la Carte Italian Cuisine Oceana - À la Carte Specialising in fish and meat dishes Blue Water Grill - selection grilled meats with different cuts Gohan - Speciality Sushi dishes The preferred Club pool with waiter service from the bar was great. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk along a coastal path to the marina at Puerto Calero. Bar’s restaurants a supermarket and gift shops are all there. There was a couple of minor issues I experienced but both were resolved very quickly and also the daily check in around the preferred club area to ensure all was good with your stay was a lovely touch.

What a super hotel. ! From the moment we arrived and were looked after by the concierge Liana with cool towels and fizz we knew we had chosen well. We were a party of 6, covering 3 generations ranging from 25 years to 87 years. The bus transfer to the hotel took about an hour due to dropping off at many hotels. A taxi would be quicker We were allocated 3 rooms all next door to each other - just perfect and just one floor up from reception. All rooms have a sea and pool view and we all had balconies. The rooms are very large and the beds so comfy and again massive. The pillows are amazing. We had Double sinks, a bidet and large shower. The toiletries are really good and slippers are provided. This hotel and the rooms are amazingly clean and you can order extra toiletries pillows housekeeping, kettle (coffee machine is provided) etc on the app and it’s always delivered within 60 minutes. Sunbeds were never a problem even for a party of 6 with limited mobility. It was very quiet around the pool area. All staff were very attentive and we would like to mention in particular Liana, Jose, Jeiton, Sofian and Harsh. Manuel in the dining room was always happy to see us. We were all inclusive Despite the hotel having waiter service only in the Piano Bar which is a nice touch this is problematic if you are not sat in the main area near the stage. We were regularly sat further back and could never attract the waiters attention. We went to the bar and were ignored until the waiter came back with another order and told us he would be with us shorty so we couldn’t order at the bar. Having stayed in many all inclusive hotels this is the first time we have been unable to get any snacks eg crisps, nuts etc outside of meal times. You could get cake or a toastie only from the coffee bar. The activities are well organised. We booked the facial class with Melody and Alba which was so much fun. We played paddle for the first time too. Reception staff were excellent whenever we spoke to anyone and Jose couldn’t do enough for us. Having 2 family members with limited mobility was abit of a problem as the few steps down around the pool area do not have any railings or support Despite the few minor issues above, this hotel is very high quality including the amazing food and al a carte restaurants. We certainly didn’t get fed up with the huge selection. All meat and fish is individually cooked for you. We hope to definitely return again. Thank you Secrets Lanzarote.

We have had a wonderful time, and would definitely return. The hotel was clean, all the staff were friendly and very helpful. If you want to get away from it all in serene surroundings this hotel hits the spot. Food was very good, some of the best we’ve ever had at an all inclusive. Having Preferred Club meant we tried them all. Breakfast at Portifinos was excellent and offered a huge range of breakfast choices. The only thing I would say on the negative is that the public bathrooms had argon oil products, which I can’t use because of my nut allergy.

Unfortunately, this wasn't a 5-star holiday for us. While there were some positive aspects, the accommodation felt tired and in need of updating. The decor and furnishings looked old, and overall it lacked the fresh, well-maintained feel we were expecting. With some refurbishment it could be much better, but in its current condition it didn't live up to our expectations. We stayed bed & breakfast because we wanted to eat out in the evening but it seems unless are a preferred guest you seem insignificant. Our room wasn’t made or cleaned one day- no idea why! Staff seem nice though and our room was very quiet. We are currently still here and go home Sunday. Will we come back? Probably not!
