SECRETS LANZAROTE RESORT

We stayed at Secrets for 1 week and booked a Prefered Club Room. This included an upgraded room with a complimentary soft drinks fridge.The use of the Prefered lounge which provides snacks, soft drinks, tea, coffee and Cava.Breakfast in the Portofino restaurant and use of the Prefered Club pool area. The room was large, very clean and had a comfy bed and good quality bed linen. The club lounge was OK ,useful to pop in for a snack and water. Portofino Restaurant was excellent for breakfast and we did have dinner there on a couple of evenings this was also very good. The main pool areas for me lacked atmosphere they were very concrete, the Prefered one was slightly better . The hotel staff were absolutely excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Would we stay again....Yes we would.

Just arrived back after a week at this hotel. Overall, we had a lovely time and the hotel itself is absolutely stunning. Our room was beautiful with a lovely sea view, the breakfast each morning was excellent, and throughout our stay we found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. When we first arrived, we did make a noise complaint regarding the pool area for non-Preferred Club guests. We really appreciated how quickly Guest Services responded by upgrading us to access other areas of the hotel, which made a big difference to our experience. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis because we enjoy exploring the island and trying different local restaurants, so we are unable to comment on the other dining options at the hotel, however breakfast was amazing with lots of options to choose from. We also enjoyed spa treatments-which were very relaxing and enjoyable. (Full body massages). However, we were surprised that there was an additional €70 charge to use the spa facilities such as the pool and sauna, despite already paying €130 for treatments. We do feel access to these facilities should ideally be included for spa guests. There were a few aspects of the hotel that felt slightly pretentious at times, and we also found the drinks prices quite expensive. That said, these points did not take away from what was overall a very enjoyable stay. We especially appreciated the thoughtful birthday surprise left in the room, the cake and personalised note were a lovely touch and made the occasion feel extra special.

First impressions, great. Front of hotel and reception area, along with our check-in experience, top notch. But then,oh oh, the rest of the hotel…… Maybe they should use some paint and give it a bit of a makeover (and if you do, don’t splash it all over the concrete- see photos). Also, chunks of plaster missing from large parts of the facade of the hotel. Our balcony balustrade has not been sanded or painted in over 10 years. The building & renovation work right in front of the breakfast area? What’s all that about? With the noise, you couldn’t hear yourself speak at breakfast. All very nice in general, but a very tatty & scruffy hotel that thinks it’s better than it actually is. Perhaps it was smart 10 years ago, but currently, because they haven’t kept on top of maintenance, I’m sorry, 3 star at best

We stayed in a preferred room 647 for a week. Great size room two sinks and walk in shower. Nice to have the free mini bar with juice, coke, beer water, crisps and chocolate wafers replenished every day.Very clean . Good balcony and view of pools and sea. The staff were great especially Lianna who greeted us with fizz and was super helpful all during our visit. We were bed and breakfast. Portofino restaurant for breakfast was very pleasant. It serves the same food as the other restaurant but with waiters. We used both. Oceana restaurant we used once my meal was disappointing due to its size. 4 very small scallops with the same size potatoes and two large prawns. Tasty but no main course! The chocolate brownie however was the star just the best dessert ever! Rattling A/C and dismal view didn’t help. Also ate at Portofino in the evening and enjoyed it. Evening entertainment was hit snd miss but I think that’s usual. Service was quick from the bar but the hotel was only half full. This meant loads of sun beds all over. Great pools all immaculately clean. No beach really, a few feet of black rocks down to the sea. Great path to the marina 10 minutes walk. The location suited us with enough bars and restaurants nearby but relatively quiet. We used the preferred lounge but it was a bit soulless.

This is our 3rd time here. 2018-2022 & now 2026. And we will 100% be back again. Such a beautiful hotel, amazing views and fantastic members of staff. Especially Joseba, from the moment we arrived to his last day before he heads off on holidays himself, he’s been nothing but kind & attentive. A welcoming smile and a kind heart. Exactly the reason we continue to come back here. Thank you so much Joseba & the rest of the amazing staff who have made our 3rd stay for our honeymoon even more memorable. Till next time.
