Papouis Protaras Hotel

it's a mixed bag of thoughts mainly good !! When booking you have to be aware its purely a family hotel. No adult areas etc so finding peace n quiet isn't easy. There are 3 pools and one paddling pool all very busy. Plenty of sunbeds but the usual 6am towel race which isn't necessary. Rooms have everything. Kettle, fridge and good air-conditioning. TV has BBC1/2. Kept very clean. Staff are amazing. work very hard and always a smile for you. Only one restaurant which is buffet style. It does get busy and queues form but food never runs out and the selection is good and varies every day. You won't go hungry. Only complaint is that its a bit "Canteen" style and can get extremely noisy. Shame parents let young kids run about and cause accidents. Kids have a dedicated child buffet but a dedicated child area and early feeding times would be a great help. I feel. Would I return no as I prefer quieter surroundings but would definitely recommend for families who don't want a mega expensive holiday. Entertainment isn't everybody's cup of tea.. very child orientated and nowhere to go for a quiet drink. All in all this is an excellent 3 star hotel ..just be aware its not adult orientated. For those with mobility issues there's one fairly steep ramp into the hotel then access is all on the flat and via lifts. Walk in showers and 2 pools are also walk in.

Supposed to be able to see the Mountains from my room, The only mountain was the moutain of rubble on the yard, When you arrive they put the air con on for you after that the cleaner turns it off and you come back to a roasting room. If they are econmising on costs try telling the cleaners that a half used toilet roll does not need replacing when the spare one is sitting were it lives. Food is basic mostly luke warm. They will tell you when your arrive they are a plastic free site however the forgot to swap the "Plastic" straws for paper ones. They do pool sports but the guy on the microphone is so hard to understand when you can hear him that is, anything further than 20 foot and your not going to hear a word he says. Entertainment is poor and lasts only a short while (30 mins or so) then you have the hard to understand presenter (same one as daytime) doing the music and offering it to karaoke which is even worse than the acts. Anyone could walk in off the street and get food and drink free they have no wrist band etc to indicate your a hotel gues. They will rip you off for staying after departure time charging by the hour

We went on the 31st May for 7 nights and the hotel was amazing, it was immaculate and the room were okay sizes we have an interconnecting door and one room had a sofa bed added in which made it a bit smaller but was manageable the side bed was okay. The towels are only changed every 3 days which we had never experienced so we just had to dry them on the balcony. The food was 5 star switched up with lots of variety. I always managed to fill my plate with plenty of delicious meats. My only downside was that fresh fruit like melon wasn’t offered all the time which I love. The pools were lovely they were both the same depth of 150cm which was perfect for us they were cold but lovely and refreshing in the heat. Plenty of parasols with one every 2 sunbeds which was really good as always had to fight for them in the past. The staff were amazing, very welcoming and the first hotel I have been to were they served you around the pool and meal times but they didn’t always understand what your ment as we enjoy a Bianca and lemonade. The location was good it took us a few days to find the strip but just walk down the beach and walk right along the beach and your will get to fig tree bay (lovely but busy beach) and there are plenty of shops. My only negative about the hotel was the entertainment the circus comedy was really good and the international dancing but we never had bingo which was advertised and the aqua aerobics wasn’t very good as she was doing exercises that weren’t possible to do in the water. They were only a team of three until the last day we were there and there was 7 of them and a large amount of people came so it might of just been because the hotel wasn’t as busy. The main entertainment guy was a bit creepy and rude he wasn’t very good at his job and sat at the back drinking beer a lot of them time. The mini disco was bad as the dancer was just making it up as she goes so the children didn’t really know what to do. Overall amazing holiday would definitely come back but the just need to improve their entertainment team.

An amazing hotel. Would highly recommend. Could not fault our stay there. The food is deliscious with plenty of choice, with food and drink. The hotel is spotless, the staff are friendly and attentive. Hotel a very short walk from the main strip so nice and quiet but not far from plenty of bars, shops and the beach.

Great hotel. Hotel was spotless. Decent rooms with very comfortable beds. Great selection of food including fish omelette and pancakes at breakfast. Live cooking station at all mealtimes with pizzas, spaghetti bolognese, stir frys etc. Gorgeous fresh salads and fruit, yoghurt and desserts, you definitely won't go hungry here. Good selection of drinks you can help yourself to. Pools Great, 3 in total with plenty of space to relax whilst being able to keep an eye on your children. Evening entertainment ok, kids disco, bingo, special acts. Animation team do games during the day but not overbearing if you want to join in or not. Water aerobics, yoga. What makes the hotel is the staff, friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. Never waited at the bar for more than a couple of minutes. Table service for drinks from dinnertime onwards and round the pool. Few minutes walk from the beach and plenty of supermarkets/giftshops/bars/restaurants Would not hesitate to stay here again
