The facilities at Robinson Hotel made me feel very comfortable. The scenery was very beautiful. More importantly, we had a great snorkeling experience! The snorkeling guide naushad at the snorkeling center was extremely professional, meticulous and patient, with a very friendly attitude. It gave me and my friend who was trying snorkeling for the first time a wonderful experience! dj tiger has contributed many wonderful songs for us on many nights, allowing us to fully enjoy every night on the island! This trip was extremely enjoyable! I highly recommend Robinson!

Our 2nd Robinson Club visit and 10th Maldives trip, so we knew what to expect but our expectations were surpassed! Arrival Landed at 8.55, met at international arrivals by the Robinson representative by name, checked into 11.40 flight, escorted to the domestic lounge. Flight was via GKK so took 2+ hours. More Robinson staff at KDM, swift delivery of us and luggage to the boat for 35 minute ride. Lovely welcome on arrival jetty, given bubbly and fast check in with Emma. We'd missed lunch but were offered complimentary club sandwiches on room service. Room We booked a standard beach villa and our request was granted to be on the south east corner, as we like the peace & quiet and a beach walk to meals. Room was comfortable, great aircon, well appointed, lovely Rituals toiletries. Plenty of storage in wardrobe and drawers. Wooden surfaces were a little sticky and not all the plugs worked. Room cleaning was very thorough, only missed 1 day, possibly as the staff worked hard all day to set up their first included beach bbq for all guests. On our last day we had an unexpected free upgrade for 1 night in a new exclusive reef water villa, which was an amazing experience! They transferred us with luggage at 12 and after lunch we enjoyed relaxing on the big terrace on the comfy loungers and in the cool private pool. Meals It's not a buffet, it's show cooking and it's exceptional. Every meal we were surprised by the variety, quality, presentation and passion of all the chefs and staff serving. Breakfast don't miss the scrambled eggs cooked in 2 minutes with smoked salmon and avocado from the fridge or bircher muesli and of course a tasty pastry to finish. Lunch the star was the freshly made stir fries or make your own tuna poke bowl, fresh salads, pasta & pizza station. Dinner on my god just amazing. We ate steak, lamb, ribs, ostrich, reef fish, giant prawns, steamed mussels, curries even fish & chips served by Andreas himself! We limited ourselves to 3 mini desserts a night, most were delicious but some had too much gelatine. Drinks We love the sustainable approach to water and staff happily provided an ice bucket at dinner as it does get warm quickly! We enjoyed pool side drinks from Saiaid who makes an expert Aperol spritz and the sundowner bar for a perfect margarita (no salt!) or Hugo spritz. Included sparkling wine was very drinkable especially when the team delivered it your room or sun lounger twice a week with music and dancing! The only thing missing was frozen drinks as we do love a mango daiquiri or margarita. Snorkelling Our no 1 criteria for a Maldivian island is the house reef and Robinson has one of the best. Easily accessible via the frequent posted cut outs or the jetty. We snorkelled every day bar 1 (stormy weather), always saw sharks, often 1 of the 2 turtles and countless tropical fish. Octopus, lion fish, eagle ray, sting ray, grouper to name some of the big ones. Several times we saw schools of parrotfish 50-200 strong cruising the reef. Activities We loved the 15.30 daily games, playing Viking chess, boccia, cornhole. I took several classes Aqua fit, Tabata, yoga from the in house and visiting fitness professionals. We attended the super fun night time pool party, which was basically an old skool rave with swim up bar, floating canapés, dj and inflatables. I'm sure the other shows were very good but they were too late for us, having finished dinner at 8.30. Service Robinson have not only well trained staff but a genuinely friendly approach, encouraging interaction at all levels, along with providing great service in every department. As long as we can afford it, we will be back and highly recommend this adults only paradise island.

Full English Translation My journey began with choosing an island in the Maldives. Overwhelmed by countless island options, I turned to my cousin, who had visited the Maldives before and belonged to a travel group. When I mentioned planning a trip to Gaafu Alifu Atoll, seasoned veterans in the group recommended Robinson Island, raving about its stellar snorkeling, delicious dining, pristine surroundings and thoughtful staff—and that was how Robinson first caught my eye. Later, I came across photos of Funaamadhoo’s brand-new overwater villas and mouthwatering buffet spreads, and I knew this was the one. Our beautiful connection with Robinson took root right then and there. Location Nestled in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Robinson sits merely dozens of kilometers from the Equator. Though it takes a one-hour domestic flight plus a 25-minute speedboat ride to reach it, its unparalleled intact natural ecosystem will more than make up for the travel time. Snorkeling Conditions I was searching for a well-established older island close to the Equator with unspoiled nature and clear skies for stargazing the Milky Way, and Robinson far exceeded all my expectations. Countless sardine runs gather along the boardwalks flanking the arrival jetty, while grey reef sharks feast on the swirling schools of fish all around. Lush coral lines both sides of the walkways, teeming with marine life: parrotfish, sweetlips, blue trevally, clownfish nestled in their anemone homes, needlefish, triggerfish, and even sea turtles! On the morning we departed, the sea lay glassy calm with exceptional visibility. The water was so crystal clear and breathtakingly beautiful—pure ocean perfection I will cherish for the rest of my life. Island Ecosystem This is an authentic, mature island blessed with untouched wilderness. Thick tropical foliage blankets the entire island, creating a cool, refreshing atmosphere as you wander its paths. I fell in love with the spa, tucked deep within the greenery. Healing music drifts through the trees, mixed with birdsong, offering pure peace and relaxation. Accommodations We stayed in the premium new overwater villas. While the official listing states 87 square meters of interior space, the total area easily tops 100 square meters once you include the outdoor terrace, private plunge pool and suspended net lounge. Leave it to the Germans to be ultra-precise with square footage measurements 😂 Our overwater villa faced southwest, classified as a sunset reef water villa, boasting unobstructed panoramic Indian Ocean views. We got front-row seats to watch the sun sink into the open sea all to ourselves. On still days, the water smooths out like a mirror, turning the lagoon into a heavenly mirror reflecting the sky. Island Vibe & Staff Service Many staff members at Robinson have worked here for over a decade, evident in the warm camaraderie seen in daily service and nightly live entertainment. Every team member greets guests with a hand placed over their heart—a gentle gesture meaning they serve with sincere care. I have to give a special shoutout to our butler JD! Our English was limited, yet he always took his time to speak slowly and clearly, patiently making sure we understood every word. JD also performs as a dancer for nightly shows at the main bar, and we always looked forward to his performances after dark. Reserved by nature due to cultural differences, we would never have mustered the courage to join the island parties without his warm, infectious enthusiasm and invitations. He chatted with us like an old friend, swapping stories about our snorkeling adventures and scuba diving experiences, deepening our fondness for this island. Another standout was Naushad from the watersports center, our snorkeling instructor. It was our first time trying snorkeling, and he walked us through every basic step: how to fit a mask, assemble a snorkel, put on fins, and clear water from our gear if it flooded. He then guided us out to the edge of the ocean trench, where we spotted clownfish, lionfish, parrotfish and blacktip reef sharks. It was an unforgettable experience. After one scuba dive session, Naushad noticed my sunburn on my neck and brought Nivea oil to soothe my skin. He kept checking in on how we were feeling and reminded us constantly to stay hydrated with water. This lovely young man is around our age, and I wish him every success and happiness in life. We are also deeply grateful to Richard, our scuba diving instructor, whose eyes were as vividly blue as the Maldivian ocean itself. He carefully taught us breathing techniques and ear pressure equalization before taking us underwater, holding one of us in each hand to guide us along—patiently tending to two total diving newbies 😂 We swam among swarms of fish, and the sensation of breathing underwater felt utterly magical. I struggled to equalize my ear pressure underwater and felt seasick mid-dive, so I ended the session early. To my surprise, Naushad told me there would be no charge for my incomplete dive, and only my husband’s dive fee was collected. Robinson’s Dive Center runs an incredibly honest operation. We also owe thanks to an unnamed boat captain. While snorkeling right from the jetty toward the dive center, I ran out of energy. My husband rushed ashore to alert staff for help, and the captain pulled me safely onto the boat with a life ring. I felt terrible for overestimating my ability and creating extra work for the team. A gentle reminder for everyone: always snorkel cautiously and stay within your limits. Dining Robinson did an excellent job helping us put on a few pounds 😂 The daily set menu rotated constantly, featuring pan-seared salmon, steak, pork chops, chicken curries, authentic Indian dishes, fresh bread, decadent desserts and plump prawns—all absolutely delicious. There is one main restaurant plus a specialty teppanyaki venue, where the head chef puts on a spectacular live cooking performance well worth watching. Bars Three bars operate across the island: the main bar, sunset bar and pool bar. The main bar hosts nightly events including live DJ sets and staff dance shows, with movie nights every Friday. We watched La La Land there, and as City of Stars played softly amid the lapping waves, that precious moment is etched forever in my memory. Do not miss the sunset bar at dusk for its stunning sunset views! Grey reef sharks swim close by to feed on sardines as the sky glows amber 😂 Their ice-cold Coke here is incredibly refreshing and perfect in every way! This week-long trip was an absolutely wonderful experience. We miss this place terribly every single day.
