The Barefoot Eco Hotel

Umístění - skvělé, severně od hlavního města, dolet do hodiny, výrazně méně turistů, možnost poznat místní obyvatele. Nádherné atoly, okolí - šnorchlovací pohádka zvláště v doprovodu podmořského biologa Massima. Poskytované služby na výborne úrovni, eco hotel - fantastická čistota jak v areálu, tak okolí - písečná absolutně čistá pláž. průzračná voda. nikde plastové lahve. Jídlo velmi dobré, zejména čerstvé ovoce. Nelze objednat alkohol, kdo má zájem musí na loď.... Absolutní třešnička na dortu - ranní lekce jogy s Mayurou a jeho špičkové masáže. V kombibaci s výše uvedeným - fantastická dovolená.

Magické místo , služby na výborne úrovni , jak čistota v areálu tak pláž . Jídlo velmi chutné , i když výběr trochu jednodušší , ale to plne koresponduje s eco koncepci. Tento hotel taky neposkytuje žádný alkohol, takže je potřeba s tím počítat . Vynikající je možnost se účastnit ranní lekce jógy

The worst vacation we have ever experienced. Overpriced. The journey was unpleasantly long; we even had to wait 5 hours in Malé for the local flight. For a 4-star hotel, this one is really poor. There was a sewage smell upon arrival, an ugly room, ants and mosquitoes in the room, and even a huge cockroach during our stay! There was no TV in the room and the fridge was not switched on. The shower is not air-conditioned and feels like a steam sauna; insects get in through various gaps, and the tap was loose. The furniture was old, chipped, stained, and shabby, with dirty curtains. After the hotel staff arbitrarily sprayed the room with some horrible insecticide, it was impossible to stay inside. For the rest of the stay, the terrace smelled terribly of chemicals, making it unusable. As for toiletries, only two small pieces of soap and a small amount of shampoo of unknown composition in a dispenser were provided. The safe did not work. There are cats in the resort that appear not to receive proper veterinary care. One of the cats had severely scratched, scabbed ears bleeding, most likely due to mange. On the beach (which is otherwise probably the hotel’s biggest advantage) and in the sea, there was plastic waste. The shallow sea was lifeless, with almost no marine life; we rarely saw even a single fish. The full board was of rather poor quality, with not enough fruit (only 2, at most 3 kinds of cut fruit, usually watermelon and pineapple), and no fresh fruit juices included. Even coffee was charged extra (except for instant coffee in the room and filter coffee at breakfast). Only water was included, and even that in limited quantities—despite the fact that tap water is not drinkable. During meals, individual food items regularly ran out and it was necessary to wait for them to be refilled. The inhabited part of the island is neglected, with no greenery at all. It definitely does not invite walks or trips outside the resort. There are only asphalt roads, in some places dusty and full of potholes (including the access road to the resort), bordered on both sides by high, peeling walls behind which ugly, neglected houses huddle. Overall, I do not recommend this place

This is saved by the environmental concept and numerous special measures implemented by the Barefoot Eco Hotel under the superb leadership of Managing Director Raffaella Colleon and her excellent team. With immense effort and warmth of her heart, she successfully manages a piece of paradise on Hanimaadhoo, creating a sense of well-being, making us feel not just like guests, but like friends. Thanks also to Reservations Manager Diksan Wijerathna and Daminda Ranasinghe for our spacious beachfront rooms No. 1 and 2. Cleaned and lovingly tidied twice daily, with views of the white, picturesque beach and the turquoise lagoon, this was also a significant fact in our feeling so comfortable. Besides the entire wonderful team, I'd like to mention a few names of those who were especially helpful and truly fulfilling every wish. First and foremost, Victor from reception, who organized, planned, and supported us perfectly and took us on numerous activities the hotel offered. Furthermore, Gayan and Mohamed for their friendliness, "our room attendant" Pabel, the attentive waiters Sozib and Parvez and the lovely kitchen team who spoiled us with excellent and a wide selection of food, especially at dinner on the beach. I must also mention Maria, who led an impressive snorkeling tour where we saw turtles and a shark, as well as the speedboat driver who showed us dolphins. Afeef was a great help on our excursion to the neighboring island of Umadhee and Kumaresan and Raj perfectly tailored our appropriate clothing. Most notably Sagar, with his yoga, massage and meditation and Anie, with her spa treatments. They ensured special relaxation, too. I also like to mention that the island can be explored by bicycle, taxi or hotel van. This allowed us to have more contact with locals. As a former teacher and headmistress, I was particularly impressed by the honorable invitation to the island's school. I thank everyone who made this visit possible. I’m sure, we will remain in contact. Thanks also to the Swiss entrepreneur, Christophe Groh, who founded The Barefoot Eco Hotel in the Maldives and opened it in 2014 with a focus on sustainable tourism and community. No disco - only natures sounds. Very friendly staff and great tours to choose from. Perfect for snorkeling and diving. Fantastic food buffets with a lot of seafood. What’s not to like 👍
