Kennedy Nova

I was nervous at first after reading the reviews, but it was a lovely hotel. It is not the 4 Seasons or the Hilton, but for a solo traveler, it provided what I needed. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was HOT. The breakfast was good, but it was the same every morning. I did not eat at the restaurant at night. The staff was helpful and kind. I was upgraded to a room with a seaview. The view was incredible, and it was nice waking up to the sunrise coming over Valletta. It made up for the loud disco music that played all day until 11pm from the club across the street. However, at 11pm, it stopped immediately, and the street was quiet. I could sleep soundly until the next morning. The hotel was centrally located, and the bus stop was across the street. There are shops and restaurants up and down the street. Very convenient. Overall, it was worth the money.

AVOID THE KENNEDY NOVA, SLIEMA AND MERCURY HOLIDAYS AT ALL COSTS! The hotel and Mercury don't even deserve one star! I've had the most dreadful, stressful holiday in the Kennedy Nova Hotel, Sliema, Malta, where unbeknown to me and certainly not mentioned in the hotel details, the hotel is regularly 98% filled with (mostly loud Italian) noisy teenage school kids attending languages courses. The hotel is rated 4* and the food is the most disgusting rubbish that wouldn't even rate 1*. The evening meals are all kids food... e..g. burgers, chicken nuggets, breaded stuff of unknown origin, chips, baked beans. EVERY NIGHT!!! No adult food, no starters, no fish, no fresh vegetables, no fresh fruit, and so it goes on! I was booked in for 17 nights and didn't eat an evening meal for the first 8 nights. I became ill as I couldn't afford to pay for eating out, when I had paid for Half Board. Both the hotel and Mercury Holidays UK dug their heels in and refused to help me out. I had to plead to the Mercury office in Malta to provide me somewhere that I could eat decent 4* food in the evening for the remainder of my holiday. Trying to negotiate reimbursement from Mercury for the horrendous experience and lack of 8 meals is adding to my stress. They are refusing to reimburse me, despite me having paid for 4* standard. For example, they are putting the blame on me for declining to eat in my room and surprise, surprise, they haven't even apologised for the dreadful food I was expected to eat. ABSOLUTELY HEARTLESS! It's an experience I want to have closure on and forget. I love Malta and have been there before, but this is the worst holiday I've ever had anywhere. If you choose Malta, DO NOT BOOK WITH MERCURY HOLIDAYS and NEVER book the Kennedy Nova in Sliema!

Hotel shouldn’t have 4*, because it’s max. 2* and I think that only because of the effort of maids and no animals like cockroaches. The room is very old, clean but old, the bed is uncomfy and the shower is very funny, because how am I supposed to shower myself without showerhead?? Small plus is for the fact, that i didn’t see any cockroaches, which I’ve expected because of the humidity. The worst thing at all is the restaurant. I don’t understand, why you have to wait for the staff to give you food. I thought that covid-19 is over. For the breakfast, the offer is very small and untasty and cold. Restaurant is very small and it looks like school canteen in very old school. We were there in autumn, but it was still hot outside and the air conditioner doesn’t work well. I think that the hotel should be renovated or reduce the number of stars.
