Terrible, terrible. I had wake up at 7 am because of construction working - jack hammer. The whole room shakes from the noise. This is not a normal thing. Please don’t come here. Worst nights of my life.

There are ongoing works near the hotel and the noise is unbearable. I posted on Google Maps a video of the noise you hear starting from 7 in the morning (I can't post it here). Judge yourself if it's worth booking here

The hotel is fantastic - the view over St Julian’s is wonderful. It is in an excellent spot for accessing the nightlife, the capital of Valletta (easily walkable), and some decent beaches - though this side of the island probably isn’t the best beach location. Malta is a lot more rugged than other Mediterranean destinations, so if you’re after a beach holiday, you’re better off choosing one of the Balearics or Canaries. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We had a “privilege” room with a balcony - with a view over the bay - really lovely. The rooftop bar was gorgeous - lots of choice on cocktails and currently doing a 3 for €22 deal, which was pretty reasonable! My only gripe is I’m not a sun worshipper (I burn easily) and there are only a few loungers which have umbrella coverage - if you don’t manage to grab one, it’s quite punishing up there in the direct sun. The staff are all incredibly friendly and kind. We had bed and breakfast, and I found the breakfast options to be very fair and good quality. Continental meats and cheeses, as well as traditional English beans, eggs and sausage. Fruit options, yoghurts and cereals too. Not bad at all. Fitness suite is very basic - the dumbbells only go to 10kg. They have a 12 and 16kg kettlebell and they do have the cables for a heavier arm workout. Treadmill and bike supplied too - but it is simple. Enough for a week’s holiday to get by but not for a fitness enthusiast who wants a well supplied gym. I would note, if you’re trying to avoid construction, come between mid-June and end of September. There has been a lot of heavy machinery but that isn’t the hotel’s fault and I haven’t scored them down for that. Malta needs maintenance so I appreciate it’s a necessity. It could be very noisy though. If you’re not party people, I would avoid St Julians and go to more family friendly resorts on the island, as there is a lot of music and bustle around the hotel.
