Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay

The facilities are tired. There were lots of areas that looked outdated, rooms weren’t well looked after, walls were dirty, what looked like bogey wiped down walls, cracking tiles in bathrooms, old dirty carpet, mouldy grouting, shower attachments that don’t work properly, pillows without pillow protectors which were disgusting as they were full of stains and the TV had options to sync but who brings HDMI cables with them on holiday????, missing tiles poolside, damaged woodwork, the spa wasn’t great, again tired and the men’s changing room showers stank, no hair dryers. Buffet restaurant was boring after 3 days, too much of the same all the time with not enough variation. À la carte restaurant just being tapas wasn’t enough we ended up going to the Hyatt Regency to eat.

Excellent family friendly hotel, beautiful pools and gardens, lovely dinner and breakfast buffet. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Nice and quiet, but enough to keep our 3 year old occupied. Already thinking about our next visit.

This was our honeymoon and it was meant to be the best experience ever and we were looking forward to what was a very expensive trip but well needed and deserved. The whole trip has been awful! Inconsistent pricing for the same evening meal, very poor customer service and rude staff. Everything is geared up for the French nationality with no consideration for others given. We had to ask for our room to be serviced daily and when it was , it wasn’t done properly. This vacation is NOT what I would have expected from such a large and established brand as Hyatt. They played dance music at breakfast time, not the ambience you want so early in the morning. I could go on but I will just finish by saying, unless you play golf, AVOID AVOID AVOID

We visited Hyatt Place Taghazout as a family of four adults for 5 nights as a replacement for a cancelled trip to Dubai. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with its own pool that is a 5 minute walk from the main hotel but benefits from the use of all hotel facilities. As others have mentioned, the location of the hotel is up a steep hill, remote from the main town but this did afford stunning views. The walk to Taghazout takes about one hour, although you can take a hotel shuttle to the Hyatt regency on the beach and half the walking time. The shuttles run intermittently throughout the day and Hyatt Place guests can use the beach at the Hyatt Regency. The villa was kept very clean and a couple of minor maintenance issues were resolved promptly. The villa pool in March was not heated and was therefore too cold to use. The grounds of the hotel were very attractive and maintained to a high standard. There were plenty of sun beds around a large pool although a lot of guests preferred to move the beds onto the grass ( ourselves included) which the staff did not like and we were asked to put them back around the pool at the end of the day as it was ‘hard work’ for the staff. The main pool was not heated so had very little use but most guests used a smaller side pool which was heated. We had hoped to use the hotel gym but it had limited equipment - a few cardio machines, some dumbbells and a couple of upper body weight machines but impossible to do a full workout. We noticed the gym at the Hyatt Regency had more equipment. Beyond the gym, there were very little options for entertainment - a single table tennis table and a paying foosball and pool table. There was an attractive looking spa which we didn’t use. The biggest disappointment of the hotel was the food. Breakfast and dinner operated as buffets with a tapas alternative for dinner. Due to the hotel’s remote location and lack of restaurant alternatives, the buffet was well used and therefore busy. The staff struggled to keep up with demand and dishes were often missing for some time whilst the contents were replaced. The salads at the dinner buffet were generally very good and varied from night to night but the hot food centred around tagines which were repeated nightly and few other options. The hot dishes were routinely cold - be that at breakfast or dinner. Desserts were repeated multiple times over our 5 night stay. We found all the staff to be pleasant and helpful but we would not return due to the disappointing food.

Quiet location. It was some 45 minutes to Agadir but the hotel provided limited shuttles to the beach and Agadir. Also you can take a taxi. The hotel was clean and staff were very helpful. Will happily stay there again when next I find myself in Agadir
