Hotel Zur Post

dobrá poloha, přijatelná cena. Velké a jednoduché pokoje. Čisté, velké koupelny, vynikající sprcha. Zdvořilý a přátelský personál. Prostorné parkování vzadu. Pěkný výhled na jezero. vynikající snídaně, sladká i slaná.

Zůstali jsme u obchodní skupiny tři dny v Gasthof zur Post! Byli jsme velmi spokojeni s našimi pokoji a spokojeni, že to mělo balkon, protože z některých pokojů máte nádherný výhled na jezero Ossiacher See. Jezero je jen 3 minuty chůze od hotelu. Jednoho večera jsme měli velmi pěkné tříchodové menu a na druhou noc nám Sabine, majitelka hotelu, dala skvělé doporučení pro restauraci přímo u jezera. Celkově všichni v hotelu byli velmi přátelští a ochotní! Pokud se vydáme na výlet do K rntenu, určitě si vybereme Gasthof zur Post na jinou dobu!

I stayed at this hotel as part of a Leger tour to Carinthia. We were there for 7 nights and it was our main base for the tour. On arrival I could see it was set on a beautiful location with stunning scenery all around the hotel. Ossiach itself is a small village and there was very little open at this time of year (early October). There was a shop/small supermarket store that only opened until 1pm daily and a nice cafe that overlooked the lake. The staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful, giving us a friendly welcome on arrival. I had a fairly large room on the second floor which was ideal for my needs, other than the lack of air conditioning. The staff did bring my a fan which helped, but I did find the building very warm overall. The room itself appeared fairly clean, but I had problems with the floor being dirty/dusty and my socks got very dirty when walking without shoes. The beds were fairly comfy and there was plenty of hot water for showering. I overlooked the back of the hotel which was a car park and metal fire staircase - not the great views some had at the front. The biggest issue i had was the food - breakfast was a very limited choice with no bread or pastries other than the odd croissant. There was no toast and no real choice of hot other than eggs and some sausage? I ended up having yoghurt with honey most days as it’s all I could really have. Dinner was also disappointing with some unusual choices of soups and mains. The desserts were mostly nice except one which no one liked. Drinks were reasonably priced and the dinner staff were very friendly. The hotel was well placed for travelling around Carinthia and the scenery was fantastic. I would stay here again but during a main season where I could eat out more.

We were just passing thru but stayed a night. Great spot to visit or for overnight pit-stop if traveling through Austria. Friendly staff, made our visit with no reservation. Restaurant/bar was open late, breakfast was typical Bavarian style with a table reserved for all the guests. Clean rooms, balcony view of lake/mountains/village.

We ate well here. Typical Austrian food in proper quality. Not everything felt like freshly cooked from all fresh ingredients. Prices average as per Carinthian standards. Service is friendly. A bit slow - they did not really show up often to see, if you want anything else.
