Gala Placidia

Came to gala for my sisters 40 th last weekend and had a fabulous time. One bar man was rude but all the others where lovely if you take the time to be nice and pleasant to them then they are the same back Check in was straight forward we where allocated the family room 115 and it was great was a big room with 3 beds and pull out bed no balcony but not bothered as weather was not good, had foam mattress and foam pillows a lovely walk in shower my sister is disabled so we requested a walk in shower rooms cleaned daily and clean towels kettle and a small fridge was also in the room. Drinks where plenty and ok Food was also luke warm but they is a microwave and plenty of choice Snack bar does burgers hotdogs toasties and crisps the poor barman was doing both and doing a good job just be patient he is doing his best You get a plastic token for a plastic cup when you go outside don’t lose it and don’t forget to return your cup or will have to pay for another one It can be very noisy so if your a light sleeper take ear plugs I’ve learnt thro past experience but 115 was lovely and quite All in all I had a blast and already looking to book again hubby will be their in may

Great hotel good food and drink Staff always polite and friendly Rooms cleaned everyday.

I stayed at Gala Placidia for my 30th birthday weekend and it was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived things were off. The hallway leading to reception had a strong smell of eggs and dirty oil that was impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, this wasn’t just a one-off — the smell was there the entire time we stayed, every time we walked through the corridor. When we reached reception we were completely ignored by staff and ended up having to go to the bar ourselves to ask someone to come and check us in. The room itself was extremely basic, although it was at least clean. However, the beds were rock hard and incredibly uncomfortable. After unpacking we went downstairs for a drink and were immediately spoken to quite rudely by staff. We were reminded FOUR separate times that we weren’t allowed to take drinks outside, even though it was raining and we had already said we weren’t planning to. It felt unnecessary and hostile. The drinks themselves were flat and the glasses didn’t look properly cleaned. The first night was absolutely unbearable. At around 3am I ended up going out searching for a chemist or supermarket just to find earplugs. The noise throughout the hotel was ridiculous — people loudly having sex, groups of men shouting and screaming in the corridors, and furniture being dragged around in the room above us. I was woken almost hourly and at times it genuinely sounded like someone was in our room. The second night became even more uncomfortable due to the behaviour of the security guard. One of our group was apparently “talking too loudly” in the lobby. Instead of handling it professionally, he threatened to call the police and then used Google Translate on his phone to show us the message: “Your friends will be sorry tomorrow.” I honestly couldn’t believe what I was reading. It came across as an outright threat and was completely inappropriate behaviour from someone responsible for guest safety. I understand that staff in places like this probably deal with a lot of drunk British tourists, but we were respectful paying guests celebrating a birthday. Basic courtesy and professionalism shouldn’t be too much to expect. The food was honestly vile and completely inedible. Even walking into the dining hall was unpleasant because of the smell. The entertainment was poor and frankly laughable, and most of the staff seemed miserable and uninterested in doing their jobs. I didn’t come expecting luxury given the price, but this place managed to fall far below even the lowest expectations. Overall the atmosphere, service and experience were genuinely awful. I would absolutely not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Have been in 4 year .use love this hotel . Change. there the bar very rude and bully people at bar shouting and for no reason . One guy at the bar man who been for 17 year is not people friendly. I was talking to some off the bar after get a drink . He started shouting and squeal go to the table . There no one at bar r surround the bar . will not b back . Bully bar .

Havent been to Benidorm for years, and had a great deal with Easyjet Holidays..Hotel in an ideal location, set back up a slight hill, but bars, restaurants and shops just at the bottom of the hill. 15 mins walk to the market, 10 mins walk to The Strip and beach. The hotel is lovely, we were all inclusive, the food was georgous, so much choice, great breakfast, and a chef grilling meats and fish on a lunchtime and dinner. Ignore any negative comments regarding the food, it was always piping hot and we were spoilt for choice, and the choice of deserts was incredible. Nice drinks that were not watered down, theres also a snack bar in the bar area serving burgers, toasties, hotdogs etc, but no chips. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and our room was cleaned every day and clean towels every day. The staff are so lovely and accomodating and helpful, and there's nightly entertainment which is good, due to the bad weather we stayed in the hotel in the evenings and really enjoyed it and met some great people. I would highly recommend this hotel and cant wait to return xx
