Costa Málaga by Pierre Vacances

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Before arriving, we had booked a double room, and also emailed to ensure that we’d have a room with a double bed. However, we turned up to two single beds. The location is great, and the rooftop and pool areas are very nice. The room on the other hand is very much below a four star standard. We had hairs in the shower and bed, the room was very rough around the edges, and had cracks in the walls. The smell of the kitchen also flowed through the corridor. If you’re looking for a 4 star hotel, don’t book this place. We unfortunately won’t be returning.

This hotel is extremely noisy, the walls are absolutely paper thin and they let large groups run riot. One night there was a large group screaming down the corridors at night, to the point where we didn’t feel safe leaving our room. We asked to move rooms and they were very uninterested in helping, even though they admitted that several people had complained. The next night was just the same this time with a couple screaming at each other. Housekeeping were also very noisy every morning. Absolutely impossible to get any sleep here. You also can’t have a lie in as the noise from the city is a lot too, building works and sirens. Over half of the pool area is taken up with beds that they charge at €30 during the week and €50 at weekends, an absolute cheek when you’re paying to stay at the hotel, so you can’t get a sun lounger and we were there in April so dread to think how it would be in the summer. The woman who checked us in was extremely rude, we had requested rooms on the same floor which they wouldn’t accommodate and the woman even held her hand up in our faces to get us to stop talking after she had asked us a question. Others have mentioned there is a water cooler in reception but you cannot use it unless you purchase their bottles, although they only seemed to have an issue with women using it and failed to tell the men the same thing. The bathroom in the room was nice and beds comfy but the balcony was very small and worse for wear and the aircon was useless - again reported to reception but they were beyond uninterested in helping said they would send someone up and no one arrived. The one redeeming feature of the hotel is the sky bar which is really nice and affordable and the bartenders were lovely. However I would absolutely skip the hotel and just drop in for the sky bar! Definitely don’t recommend staying, you can’t sleep or sunbathe it’s good for nothing really!

It's our fifth time at this hotel but sadly it will be our last time. It's been taken over recently and just isn't the same. The rooms are supposed to have been refurbished but they haven't. In fact they seem more dated than ever. There was always a lovely happy atmosphere here, with the staff friendly and chatty, but not any more. The room cleaning was dreadful, we even had to ask for a toilet roll as they couldn't be bothered to check if we had one! We used the water machine in reception to fill up our water bottle but was told we couldn't do that unless we purchased one of the hotels plastic water bottles! Very disappointed with this hotel, had some lovely memories of this place but they have now sadly been replaced with our last disappointed stay. We won't be back!

Bad reception have being trying for days to get through to add another person on to the booking but have being hung up so many times before

Great location in the centre of town and tram stop 2 mins away . The beach was a pleasant 10 minute stroll away and plenty of diffent routes to take . We liked the stairs going down lined with shops either side . The room was not massive but modern and had everything we needed including a balcony facing the sea as asked for . We were on level 10 which is the same as the bar with its large seating area with amazing views . When we were there in march it was closed most of the time but you could still access the area which we did and claimed it as our personal huge patio area🤣. We didn’t use the pool area but looked a little tight on space which didn’t matter as we preferred the beach . The gym was ok but open 24/7 which was nice . We went half board and the high light of the hotel was the evening food there was not as much choice as massive hotels but the quality was much better . Well done to all the kitchen staff 👋👋. Would I come back ? Yeah I think I would 👍. Thanks for a nice stay.
