I recently stayed at PCM Hotel Alcalá in Madrid for business and had a very good experience overall. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower was excellent; strong, powerful, and perfect after a long day out. Breakfast had a good variety of options, which was a nice start to the day. That said, it can get quite busy during peak times, especially between 7:30 and 8:00am, so it’s worth planning around that if you want a quieter experience. The bed was a little softer than I prefer, but the pillows were nice and comfortable, which helped make for a good night’s sleep. Overall, a pleasant stay and one I’d happily recommend.

My friend and her family live in a nearby town with no hotels, so I booked us two Superior rooms here for a week in June with the goal to catch up. We stayed in rooms 508 and 510, which had an eastern view over the adjoining empty lot towards the historic part of Alcala de Henares. We could see two domes. If you are considering a stay longer than 1 night (we stayed for 7 days), definitely upgrade to the Superior rooms!!! Each of our rooms had a small loveseat, two tables on casters as well as large desk. The huge closet had a padded bench, a mini fridge and several drawers and hangers. The bathrooms were incredible, truly incredible. They are as deep as the room and have an operable window, window shade, a deep, jetted tub, a rain head shower and a separate area for the toilet. The wall between the bathroom and bedroom is frosted glass. The provided body wash, shampoo and conditioner are in regular sized bottles, so you don't have to worry about running out. There are also a wall-mounted hair dryer, robes and slippers. Mercadona supermarket is on the next block and carries anything you may need, from sunblock to toothpaste. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and extra blankets are in the closet. The balcony was huge and has two chairs. The air conditioning is incredibly quiet, fantastic and is controllable. Since Spain is so hot in the summer, good air conditioning is always my priority. The room safe in 510 didn't work, so I kept my passport in my friend's room. The rooftop has seating areas as well as a stainless steel, unheated jetted pool. It's too shallow to swim in and has benches along the sides, so is great for hanging out during the siesta. We didn't explore the grounds since we spent our time at the pool. There is no noise at night and good soundproofing between the rooms. The only noise I heard was the slamming of the hotel doors. One of the hotel clerks was so helpful, Sulva?, and directed us to a nearby Colombian cafe for great breakfasts. The historic center is a short walk and you won't need your car at all. They have an underground parking lot, but my friend just parked on surface streets. There seemed to be no nightlife in the surrounding blocks, which was fantastic for the quiet. If you are looking for a party area, this isn't it. We plan to stay at this hotel again next June! I love her kids, but it was nice to have a quiet girls trip.

This was another very enjoyable stay at the PCM hotel in Alcala , our team was looked after by the wonderful staff especially Salua who put a smile on all our faces with her charm and professionalism. The rooms were super clean , good choice for breakfast , evening meals good too , beds comfortable and for all these reasons we will be returning soon , thank you to all

Quite an ugly hotel, ugly rooms, odd location. Front desk staff pretty rude. One receptionist spoke to me with her mouth full of food. She could have cared less. On another occasion, I had to wait while 2 receptionists had finished their chit chat before they looked at me to see what I wanted. When I had finished and walked away they spoke to each other cattily about me thinking I would not understand. The safe in my room was broken when I arrived. They failed to fix it correctly, it was broken again on Day 2 and again on Day 3. The room key failed to work. They amended that with no apology. The street bins were cleared at about 2:00am two nights when I was there. Incredibly noisy. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Shocking for a 4* hotel. The room decor is very odd, and not welcoming. The room is pretty small. There are no offerings in the little mini fridge. (There is a supermarket very near by, if you want water/beer/wine.) The bathroom is very dark (dark brown/grey tiling). When I used the hand soap dispenser, the whole apparatus fell off the wall (it was only glued on). It remained lying prone on the counter-top for the remainder of my stay. (It turns out that others in my tour group had the same experience with their cheapie soap/lotion dispenser.) The window in my room would open and then would not close again. There is no documentation in the room to show how to ring the front desk from the room. For anyone unfortunate enough to stay in this hotel, I believe you ring ext 136 (if I remember correctly). The breakfasts are very good. This is the one and only good thing I can think of to say about this hotel. Overall, I really do not recommend it at all.

The PCM Forum is situated in the (relative) center of Alcala de Henares. It is a new hotel, which is reflected in the ambiance and interior style. Is clean and quiet, close to the historic center of Alcala de Henares and reasonably priced. Definitely a good hotel.
