Great value for money. Functional but comfortable rooms with a balcony, very friendly personnel, close enough to the ski area and in town. Easy parking facility (separate), cool bar and ok breakfast. Price quality relationship is great as I stayed in many other hotels in Arosa and now will always select Aves as my home base.

The hotel is well located, close to the train station and the chairlift. Rooms are good size with king size beds, balcony, big TV screen, and a decent size toilet. Good for a short stay, but I stayed for a week, and I felt that furniture was missing. Side tables are tiny. There is no chair or desk in the room. I had to bring-in one of the chairs from the balcony to leave some of my clothes. Also, the wardrove space is limited. I was skiing for a week, and it felt quite tight. The price you pay does not include any cleaning. If you are skiing for a week, you will need the room cleaned at least two times as it gets messy. I arrived at lunch time, and they told me my room was ready which was a plus, however, they told me that I had to pay an early check in charge of EUR 22. If not, I had to wait until 3pm. It is quite unusual for a hotel to charge you for early check in when the room is ready. I would understand the charge if I specifically asked for early check-in, but in this case, it happens the room was ready when I arrived. Normally a good hotel will give you the room as a courtesy. In certain aspects you feel as if you are in a no-frills hotel. Staff is very friendly and breakfast is decent. In overall I recommend it, but I would also suggest looking around for other options. Once you add all the extra charges it can add up to the same price as other hotels of better quality.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The view from the balcony was excellent, and I loved looking at the lake from my bed--I literally couldn't get myself to close the curtain at night because of it! It is good value for money as the hotel is in a great location, very close to the train station, the Weisshorn cable car, the lake, and the Coop grocery store. The room itself was excellent. Even though it has a tight layout, there is plenty of space to store luggage and personal items because there is a fold-down shelf next to the bed, the space under the bed is wide open and visible at all times, and big enough to slide large suitcases in. The room has blackout curtains, which are perfect for those who might be jetlagged and want to take a nap during the day. I was here for a week to work remotely, and although there is no desk in the room, the hotel makes up for it by having a cozy working space in the lounge with good Wi-Fi and power sockets. A small conference room is also available, although I did not use it myself. Laundry facilities are available in the hotel for those who need it. Although I didn't use the machines myself, it is nice for those who have longer stays. I really liked having the large smart TV in my room. Even though I do not have any streaming subscriptions, the TV has free apps (Pluto TV and Plex) with lots of good film and TV options in case you want to spend a day or evening inside. I also liked how you could use the smart TV as an alarm clock or link it to Spotify to play music. There are just a few very minor issues which don't really decrease my rating, but maybe it might be useful information to guests or the staff: -Breakfast was standard (which is absolutely fine) and includes both hot and cold options, which is great. However, I feel like a greater variety of fruits might be nice. During my stay, the only fruits available were apples (on all days) and watermelon (on some days). -In the room, there is a very nice backlight on the head board that could be used as a reading light at night and isn't too bright to disturb my sleep in the middle of the night. However, the light switch is far away from the headboard and is where the room light switch is, on the wall closer to the foot of the bed, so I had to crawl to the other side of the bed and feel blindly on the wall to reach it during the night. This is more a very minor issue of the room itself and not the service or the staff, but I think it is still worth mentioning. There were, however, some small lamps on the shelf that you could move to the bedside table to switch on and off, but I had too much stuff on the table for me to fit those on. Again, this is just a minor inconvenience and doesn't decrease my rating. -I had been given a key card to my room, and I also had access to the app which could unlock the door without the card. However, the card got deactivated a few days into my stay, and the key on my app disappeared the day before my checkout. But since I had both options to get into my room, I never got locked out. Also, the staff at the front desk was available to reactivate my card, which I used as my main method of getting in, so even though it was a minor inconvenience, this never turned into a big issue. Overall, I had an excellent stay at the hotel and would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Arosa. I really liked how the rooms are very affordable given the excellent location, balcony, and amenities. Since I was here to work remotely, I spent most of my time here at the hotel, and it was nice to have the option not to pay for cleaning when I don't need it.
