Suum Bodrum Hotel & Beach

The management’s attitude was extremely unprofessional and far from solution-oriented. The restroom was not clean, and we only asked for assistance regarding that issue. However, we were even accused of being dishonest.

We arrived home yesterday near of end of the season September 2025. As most travellers have said this hotel is beautiful and relaxing. The food was lovely but not enough variety for us. There is no buffet and meals you select from a QR code on your table, your evening meal is an al a carte menu. The snack bar is amazing. However the only downside due to translation a few times we needed to ask where our order was, but this wasn't a big issue for us. The staff and management are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. We extended our room on our last day yesterday which was a great help as the weather was rainy and very windy and late departure. A note for the manager we did find the hotel quite isolating and nothing really to do. Obviously, yes we could get a taxi but if there was a shop/chemist nearer this would be amazing. We want to thank the staff and managers so much for making us so welcome.

Service was so slow, we ended up abandoning the meal on several occasions. Orders were routinely forgotten, and basic amenities like an iron were not available - you had to pay for a full laundry service instead. The food was a low point. Breakfast and lunch featured stale bread and limited items that had clearly been sitting out for hours. We in fact ended up skipping breakfast for half the trip. Dinners were somehow worse: rigid “theme” nights with no alternatives. One evening was Mexican - if you didn’t want tacos, you simply didn’t eat. No flexibility. To make matters worse, meals were wheeled out on a plastic trolley with a bin attached. Staff scraped leftovers into it right beside your table, filling the air with a lovely aroma while you tried to eat the restricted range of items. The room was passable but lacked essentials. And once you’re inside the gates, you’re trapped. No decent nearby restaurants or cafés. We tried to escape for dinner and found nothing good walkable. Admittedly, that’s on me for not researching harder. Suum Bodrum fell short on every front - service, food, amenities, and location. I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We left frustrated, hungry, and thoroughly disappointed.

This hotel, the grounds and position by the sea is lovely. Everywhere was really clean and having recycling bins is a bonus. The mostly young staff were all great but I have to name the following people in particular: Haroun, Zarina, Mehmet, Emre, Esmi, Salman and Cemre. Most of the staff spoke a little English and were encouraging when we tried to speak Turkish. We used Google translate a lot! Unfortunately, we had some issues with the all inclusive menu because the food was not that great. The afternoon snack bar was much better and the pesto pasta and pizzas were really nice! It's the first year that Jet2 have used this hotel and I think they need to review their selling of this holiday. It is not geared up for British tourists and we are not the sort of British tourists who demand English food. However, some of the descriptions of the food on offer did not match what we would have expected. We were originally booked on a b&b basis but couldn't find a menu for the bar and there were no prices on display for the drinks. We also feel that it is a hotel for a short break of maybe 4 or 5 nights rather than the 12 night stay that we had booked. Despite these issues, on discussion with management they were resolved quickly and a big thank you to Huseyin for this.

This is a relatively small hotel, and while the physical structure was generally nice and well-maintained, unfortunately, the quality of service did not match. We stayed for just one night, and overall, our experience was disappointing. We checked in on Friday night and checked out on Saturday. On the day of our departure, we asked if we could still use the beach for a while longer, and the response we received was quite rude: "You can swim, but you must pay for everything you eat and drink." Of course, paying was never an issue for us — what bothered us was the unnecessarily harsh and unpleasant tone in which this was communicated. We also witnessed another guest in a similar situation that same day. They called hotel management and received a similarly negative attitude. When the guest said they were not happy with the treatment and would leave a negative review, hotel management called them back and said: "We heard you’re planning to leave a negative review. To prevent that, we’ll give you a code so you can continue to eat and drink for free." This approach is clearly unprofessional and shows a double standard in how guests are treated. Some of the front desk staff were especially indifferent and even rude. When you're on vacation, you expect at least a friendly attitude. Aside from the valet and a few waiters, most of the staff seemed unapproachable and generally unpleasant, which significantly affected our experience. As for the sea, it wasn’t particularly satisfying either. It might be seasonal, but it was very windy during our stay. There was a lot of small plastic trash in te shoreline , which made swimming rather unpleasant. But the area accessed via the pier was relatively clean. Our goal was to find peace and relax, but the negative attitude we encountered at this hotel made it impossible to enjoy our stay. I don’t plan to stay here again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to others.
