I have left 3 stars with a heavy heart, as I am genuinely concerned for the staff, who make such a great effort every day. There is clear feedback here that the hotel needs to take on board to avoid its own decline. We love this hotel. We are currently on the last day of our fifth visit, and we would hate to see standards drop to the point where we no longer return. Sadly, we will likely try somewhere else next year. The hotel appeared to be operating at around 30% of the capacity we have experienced at the same time in previous years. I suspect this may be why some corners have been cut. The positives first: The food is still amazing, with a wide variety and plenty of choice. The drinks are also of a high quality. Service is fantastic around 90% of the time, and the staff really do make a huge effort. Cebrial (pronounced Gabriel), who works in the cabanas, is particularly outstanding. He is friendly, personable, and makes a real effort with guests, even when he sees you around the hotel. He remembers names and creates a very welcoming atmosphere—everyone seems to love him. He would be far better suited to a role in guest relations, as his energy and attitude are genuinely uplifting. However, there have been several noticeable issues compared to previous visits: Ants throughout the Balbura snack restaurant. This was reported but not dealt with for several days. Wine often served warm, meaning we had to add ice to cool it down, which is not ideal. Coffee was consistently cold, which was frustrating as my husband really enjoys his coffee. At the omelette station (when the usual chef was not present), a staff member became visibly angry, slamming utensils and throwing my husband’s plate back at him when he pointed out that she had added cheese to a plain omelette. Long waits at the beach bar—on average 20–30 minutes before being offered a drink, despite it being quiet. Evening entertainment has declined. Shows are now repeated weekly, whereas they previously rotated every two weeks, and the overall quality has dropped. Some evenings consisted only of “parties” with photo props, music, and go-go dancers, which did not feel suitable for the majority of guests, particularly families. Being charged £86 for a late checkout in a hotel that was clearly far from full felt unnecessary, especially as loyal returning guests. Guest relations were unwilling to show any flexibility, stating they could not offer this to “everyone who complains,” which suggests this may be a common concern. The new guest relations representative’s attitude was disappointing, with dismissive body language, including eye-rolling and a lack of engagement. The hotel appears to host a number of influencers who seem to receive significantly more attention and complimentary treatment than loyal, paying guests. This creates an uncomfortable and, at times, frustrating atmosphere. The staff overall seem unhappy, worried, and frustrated. Individually, these issues may seem minor. However, when combined—and considering the significantly increased cost of staying here—the value for money is no longer there. At £6,000 for a two-week holiday for a family of four in May, the hotel simply does not offer enough to justify the price. The low occupancy also suggests that others may feel the same—that the hotel has become too expensive for what it now delivers. I truly hope the hotel addresses these issues, as it would be a shame to see it continue to decline. We would love to return one day and experience the same level of quality and value for money that we enjoyed on our previous visits.

This was my second stay at Liberty Fabay in Turkey, having first visited in 2023 and returning again this year and once again, it did not disappoint. On both occasions, I genuinely could not fault the hotel. The food was consistently excellent, with a wide variety of high-quality options to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests had a great experience. The entertainment was also a real highlight, offering something enjoyable every day and evening without ever feeling repetitive. It’s rare to find a resort that delivers such a high standard so consistently, but Liberty Fabay has done exactly that for me twice now. I would absolutely love to return for a third visit next year—however, Jet2 Holidays’ pricing for 2027 is currently higher than any other year, so I hope it becomes more reasonable.
