Secret Playa Esmeralda How beautiful this location is!! The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Our rooms were very nice. We had Jr. Suite swim outs. Wonderful to walk out your door into the water. I would highly recommend these rooms. The adults only was a new experience for us. It was a much calmer, relaxed pool experience. We didn't however like the hours of the pools. 6:00 is too early to close the hot tubs and pools. The Bordeaux restaurant had our favorite food. The steak was delicious. Make sure the men wear long pants and closed toe shoes! You will not get in if you don't. This is a little racist since women may wear open toes shoes and very short dresses if they want. Not only that, sitting at the table no one can see your legs at all. The staff is excellent!! Every staff member we encountered was so helpful and cheerful. They work long hours and yet they always have a smile on their faces! I would personally like to thank Simon, our butler, he was awesome. He did everything he could to make our stay perfect. Brrrenda, in entertainment and the entire entertainment team. Bartending staff everywhere were great. Maximo, Kelvin, Pasla, Noemi, and Rijo. Emily was always available at the pool and at the beach cabana to get us drinks. Ricardo, Joel, Alexis, and Walinson were so helpful. All of the restaurant staff were top notch. I wish I had each one of their names. Although, the trip was very expensive, it was so worth it.

Such a wonderful stay. The staff are soo friendly! Our butler Ivan was amazing, very good at his job. Would also like to shout out Vladimir in the VIP services & Anthony a server. All so kind, so nice, so helpful!! Amazing time!

Visited Miches beginning of June 2026. We opted for the Secrets as it is adults only. I have to say that we were not disappointed at all during our time spent. We chose the Preferred Club section of the resort and were assigned a butler to enhance our experience during our stay. Our butler, Simon was always available to help with any need we had mainly using WhatsApp. Having our own butler made our stay so much enjoyable. For that, we must thank Simon for his help everytime it was required. Else than that, the resort, the beach and the amenities were simply amazing! Also, the food was delicious and all the restaurants were gathered together in some sort of a small village which is shared with the Dreams. We would definitely go back in a near future.

Had a great honeymoon here. Johan was an always butler, maximo and Kelvin were absolutely great personalities at the pool bar and really made the trip fun

We stayed at Secrets Playa Esmeralda for 5 days, and overall had a great experience - this is a newer resort, so everything feels modern and well-maintained, nothing worn down or broken. We had a swim-up Jr. Suite which we loved, though one of the bathroom sinks was plugged initially. The resort is huge, split about half adults-only and half family sections, with a beautiful beach area, and golf carts are available if you need a ride around the property. Service was good overall, but we did run into one frustrating moment at a restaurant where we waited 20 minutes for a table, turns out there was outdoor seating available the entire time, the hostess just never mentioned it. It was hot, but we'd have gladly taken that table immediately had we known. Once we asked, we got seated outside right away. Food was pretty standard all-inclusive fare, nothing really stood out except the tres leches cake, which was excellent. One practical note for other travelers: breakfast and lunch options are limited mostly to the buffet, with few à la carte restaurants open during the day, though there are plenty of dinner options. Entertainment was decent, you could tell the staff put in effort, but nothing that really wowed us. My one real pet peeve was the upselling, right at check-in they're already pushing extras, which felt like an unnecessary first impression. Later on the beach, they also try to upsell spa packages. Minor gripes aside, the room quality, beach, and overall modern feel make this a solid pick, and I'd recommend the resort to friends and family.
