Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & SPA

We stayed at this beautiful resort for 6 days . Our butler Amarlys was great and we were very happy to have her as she made sure our stay was very pleasant. She informed us about the resort, its daily activities and always made sure every day to provide us with anything we needed. The room was very nice and clean with a balcony facing the pool, which was the adult section of the resort. The restaurants we liked the most were El Patio, Dona Altagracia and Portofino. The beach is beautiful and it was great to swim there and sometimes just lovely to walk on.

So much fun! Beyoncé, Chocolate, Mr. Candy and of course Brenda were so much fun!!!!!😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Johan was the most accommodating, kind, friendly, butler we've ever had the sheer pleasure of knowing! He was fantastic! Always took care of reservations for our group, anything we needed he made sure it was brought immediately! We had a man to get sick and he made sure they got to the hospital and for that we are extremely grateful!🙏🙏 This resort was top notch in all areas. Our waitresses were divine! Berkis, Ariana, Verilyn,! Class act! Thank you can't wait to come back!!

This trip was amazing. Our butler Simon went over and above for us to make sure our experience was incredible. The only blip that we had was that my friend has a seafood allergy and we were sure to mention it at every restaurant. Day 2 she ate “pasta salad” at the buffet not knowing it contained tuna. I suggest that allergens should be clearly identified on the food labels. Pictograms would be helpful. Simon handled it professionally and proactively. Overall the staff at Secrets Playa Esmeralda were amazing! Honourable mention to Shaggy with the entertainment staff, Kelvin at manatees bar, Naomi and Paola were amazing servers at the Manatees as well! We stayed in room 7123 on the preferred side and it did not disappoint! We had a swim up and were located right beside the Rosewater cafe. We made good use of the app to request room service and housekeeping- our housekeeper was very thorough! The beach was not great simply because you could not really swim directly in front of the resort because the ocean was too rough, but we walked down towards Club Med and had a great beach experience. The food was plentiful and there was always something to eat. As my 10th trip to a Secrets resort, I was satisfied that the quality was worth the expense.

We spent a week here in mid-March 2026, and it was a wonderful experience. This is a beautiful new hotel and the people were so friendly! The good: - it’s new so everything is clean and in good condition - the staff is very friendly and eager to help - the spa is fantastic and I highly recommend the hydrotherapy circuit - rooms have a privacy door for room service delivery and pickup without being disturbed - there are a lot of activities and entertainment available but the resort is quiet at night (at least where I was staying) - the alarm clock in the room charges your phone and has a sound machine The bad: - it’s a long drive from the Punta Cana airport (PUJ) - it rained almost every single day, although it was not all day - there wasn’t much for snacks in the room, and most of the drinks were glass bottles but no bottle opener (I bought one at the gift shop for $8USD) - it is pricy, but worth it IMO There are several restaurants but we loved Castaways and ate there a few times. If you want to go to the hibachi restaurant Himitsu at Dreams during your stay, I would highly recommend getting in line for a reservation just before 9:00am on your first day there. Even then, ideal time slots for the WEEK are limited. We ended up having to do dinner there at 4:30pm, but it was delicious! (You only need a reservation for the tepanyaki tables.) All the employees were delightful, but the ones who really stood out were Abbias & Yudelkis at Market Cafe, Benjamin at Castaways, Daris & Elizeth at the spa, Juan at Meraki , Emiliano at Barefoot Grill, and Luis at Sugar Reef.
