Secrets Tides Punta Cana

We stayed at Secrets Tides as a couples trip from March 7 to 14. While we enjoyed our stay as preferred guests, overall, for us, it's not a place we will return. It was our first time at a Secrets and  being preferred, we thought it would make things a little simpler but not the case. Evey, single, day, it was like the hunger games but chair edition. It didn't matter if it was at the preferred pool, preffered beach, or other pools and beach, there were no chairs to be had. It was quite frustrating. The staff were all very nice! Angela at the preferred pool was lovely. Beatriz and Esmeralda in the lobby in the evenings were also wonderful. Francisco in the sports bar, also fantastic. We appreciated all of you very much. On the preferred side, we had a butler but again, this isn't really something I found worth it. He was very nice but didn't get back to me on a few things so I just handled it on my own. The preferred Lounge around the lobby we couldn't spend any time in as they use some sort of air freshener in there and it was overpowering. Very unpleasant. Food was something we all agreed could be better. The main buffet turns into a Mexican restaurant at night so there is no variety there if you don't want to wait the 30 to 60 minutes to get into one of the other restaurants. The entertainment was hit or miss. The magic show... Ouff. Some good tricks but it was a 10 minute show dragged out over 45 minutes. A few in our group fell asleep, others left. We missed the queen show but heard good things. The Greatest Showman, show was good as was the Retro show! Didn't catch the others unfortunately. The resort itself is beautiful but based on our experience, I don't see us returning, we've spent less for more.

This is our third experience with Secrets. Our stay in Punta Cana was excellent. Our concierge Estarlyn Carla was exceptional. He checked in with us daily, ensured we received any requests we made to be delivered to our room. The accommodations are modern and very clean. The grounds are meticulously maintained, beach was always clean and pool/beach service plentiful. Restaurants were well maintained with good menu choices. My only comment for improvement would be the food truck grill located in the preferred guest section. They appeared always overwhelmed. On one day, there were over 10 hamburgers on the grill. This item isn’t even on their menu so perhaps they should review the menu to reflect the tastes and requests of their guests. Having said that, quickly adding food items not on the menu was another example of the resort being flexible in serving guests what they want. We would definitely return and recommend. Excellent all-inclusive resort! It was our third visit and we will come back for sure. Great pools, beach, food selection, bars and entertainment.

Our experience at Tides was great. We thought the food was very good at all the meals. We have a picky eater in our group and he was very satisfied. The steaks in all the restaurants were above what we have come to expect from our all inclusive vacations. We have been doing all-inclusive vacations throughout the Caribbean for 25 years and I would rate this resort the best food of them all. The resort did not have that musty smell that most all have. I know it is only a couple of years old and that may have something to do with it. It has all the modern conveniences and truly stood out. We plan on returning next year which we don't often do....
