Secrets Tides Punta Cana

My wife and I went on a trip with her parents and sister in law/husband. We had a great time! Jonathan Melo (our Butler) was amazing and was incredibly helpful/responsive to our questions. He even made dinner reservations for us to include a Birthday Dinner for my mother in law. He had a table set with roses, birthday messages and finished it with a birthday cake and singing by the staff. It was awesome. 10/10 would recommend this resort and praying you get Jonathan Melo as your butler!

We stayed at Tides for 2 weeks at the end of February. We had booked non preferred. Firstly, I have to commend the management staff of Tides. I had an accident on our first day with a suspected torn ligament in my knee and was treated at the hotel’s doctors surgery. Dr Torro was friendly and very thorough. The hotel then provided me with a wheelchair and a crutch for our whole stay. Furthermore the concierge checked up on us daily to ensure we had everything we needed. After slipping at the buffet the next day with my crutch we were immediately upgraded to preferred status so we could use Oceana for lunch and breakfast. We absolutely loved this hotel. The beach is amazing and we weren’t hassled by any vendors. If you want a massage just turn left at the beach and a few minutes walk you get to Tropical Treasures. Amazing massage on the terrace with the sound of the crushing waves! The pools are beautiful. The main pool is super busy and caters more for the younger generation. Thequiet pool is where we spent a lot of time - although not too quiet in the afternoon when Kelvin and Louis at the bar got the shot glasses out! Thanks to them we had such a blast and met lots of people. The food was excellent for an AI resort. Thanks to the management we only had to wait once for a table. Yes, there were some service issues and the food was not always hot but they were very happy to sort that out when mentioned. Evening entertainment was very good. Some shows better than others. The house band was excellent and we loved the steel drum player. Karaoke was such fun! The staff were the pinnacle of this resort. Thank you to Juliana for always singing and smiling, Felix for getting us a nice table at breakfast, Alfredo at the lobby bar for remembering our drink preferences, and of course Kelvin and Louis for making our afternoons at the pool bar a blast!

We had such a wonderful stay and truly felt taken care of from start to finish. The staff was absolutely lovely and consistently anticipated our needs, often offering help before we even had to ask. A special thank you to Edwin on the beach—he was fantastic! He made sure we always had champagne in hand and checked in on us regularly, which made our beach time feel extra special and relaxing. Ronald from room service was also a gem. Not only did he keep the champagne flowing in our room, but he surprised us with chocolate-covered strawberries and a cake, which was such a thoughtful touch and made our stay feel even more celebratory. The beach and pool areas were beautiful, and even though the hotel was full during our stay, we were always able to find a spot to relax. Because it was a busy weekend, there were occasionally some waits for drinks or dinner, but overall we really enjoyed the food and beverages. All in all, it was a fantastic experience thanks to the incredible staff and gorgeous setting. We would happily return! 🥂🌊
