Serenade All Suites, Adults Only Resort

Back once again with another review of yet another adult resort or was it? April 2026 and on planned trip to add to the calendar of travel for this year and the location was punta Cana Dominican Republic at a resort that I did not select nor did I have time to review prior to my stay with that said let's get into the nitty gritty. I arrived at the serenade All Suites adult side on a hot sunny day in April. Upon my arrival I was not greeted with a cool welcome drink but I was impressed with the hotel lobby. Very modern very clean very straight to the point nothing to elaborate but definitely welcoming in a decorum sense. Stepped up to the front desk check-in was fairly easy and then came the normal meeting of a quote,un-quote host who was assigned to show me around the property. Now normally I would not engage in such activity but I arrived very early at 11:00 a.m. and was told my room would not be ready or available until 3:00 p.m. . So I took the short tour everything is pretty much in a close vicinity there are about five restaurants all of which need to be booked using the app for the resort which is your best bet the usual buffet Japanese hibachi Italian and steakhouse. Of course on my arrival I was sold on just about everything spa package what I believe to be a timeshare and I was told it wasn't excursions etc. On a positive note there is a bar in the lobby and I have to give some respect to a bartender named Sanchez. It is not very often that you stay at an all-inclusive resort and you can find a reliable bartender let alone premium drinks that fall under the all-inclusive periscope. Sanchez introduced me to a drink called the honeydew. A very cool yet punctual version of a whiskey sour that set me off right. After about three drinks 4 hours to go for my room I decided to walk down to the beach and check out the pool etc. The property is very clean a little too quiet for my taste but I just arrived so I wasn't complaining I just was checking out the sites. There are three pools and the adult side. One pool for elite members and two pools for the folks who live this standard Life LOL. The main pool had a bit of entertainment it was bigger than all of the other pools obviously but it seemed more chill than anything. It does have a swimmer bar which is a major Plus and at that time I could see that contingent upon how busy the hotel was getting a pool seat may be a bit of a challenge. Back to the lobby I went where the host informed me that the room still was not ready but tried to sell me on a hotel presentation which she said would be quite easy. Me being a season traveler I never believe that but the format is always the same everywhere you go. They ask if I would be willing to listen to a small presentation during breakfast to which I respectfully decline until he tried to sweeten the deal and offer me a $75 voucher to be using my discretion on the property. I informed them that when I come for vacation I wanted to do just that so unless someone was willing to give me the presentation at that very moment while I was waiting three more hours I had to respectfully decline. Fast forward 3 hours later exactly at 3:00 p.m. I finally got a room assignment. I went with the standard room junior suite with a quote unquote garden view. Upon entering the room I will tell you that the room is a very big size and the pictures online did not do it any justice there was what appeared to be a porcelain tub in the middle of the room but it was plastic no biggie. A very big shower separate toilet decent size queen bed the room was clean no stains on the sheets did include a balcony which was rather large The view definitely was not guarding it was more like overseeing an empty lot but it still was fine no complaints. Small mini fridge packed with water Coca-Cola some Sprite El presidente beers and Coors beers as well but no hard liquor. Two packs of peanuts on the table just the right amount of towels and linen plenty of drawers and storage space great lighting in the room with the exception of the bathroom that didn't have an individual light. Very functional air condition in the room with an additional ceiling fan and of course a safety deposit box. LED screen TV which was a decent size and a pull-out sofa with chairs and a small table also within the room. I genuinely like the room and again it's much bigger than what I saw online. Let's talk about a few amenities. A friend and I after about 4 days of cruising around the hotel grounds right by the lobby there is a woman who has a stand which features the options at the spa. We passed by there a bunch of times and every time she kept asking us to engage in the spa package and we declined every time. Mainly because the pricing was insane now I have visited Dominican Republic on several occasions and I've seen various different prices but the prices and this resort and the time for the massages to me just didn't add up especially in comparison to some of the resorts that I have been to in the Dominican Republic. Fast forward to the last day and my friend decides they're going to pull the trigger on the massage and spend $130 US dollars for 50 minutes of what they call a relaxing massage. Once again I decided to pass but the hotel attendant advisor she would throw in a hydro Spa to which I asked what that actually is. She relates that the hydro Spa is pretty much the use of the facility their various different pools dry sauna wet sauna steam room etc which normally at resort spas is a basic amenity or addition to the spot itself the selling point is obviously the massage and when you buy a massage you get to enjoy a couple of hours of the facility and just relax I believe that's basic and typical of any day spa so I did not see why that was a park but nevertheless she offered it and I accepted. The next day when we arrived at the spa I wanted to go to the gym and use the water facility afterwards but as my friend insisted I get a massage too they decided to pay an additional $130 us so we both can get 50 minute massages. So into the facility we went escorted to the men's locker I was given a robe which was a bit small and some slippers and whisked away to a small room where I enjoyed what I felt was a pretty basic massage that was exactly 50 minutes and not a second more. I for one did not believe that the massage I received was worth $130 US dollars but then again I didn't pay for it so I didn't complain. After the massage was over I went back to the locker room to change into some swim trunks and step back out the room. We were then told that the massage portion is over and so is our spy experience and we explained that we were told that because we bought the massage package we were entitled to use the hydro facility. We were then advised by the masseuse that that was not part of the package or fee and we would need to pay an additional $40 per person more. Well that was it for me and I was pretty upset about that. Change clothes left the facility. 260 us plus an additional 20 US dollars per massage therapist for a total of $300 us for under 1 hour. I definitely was robbed definitely disappointed definitely would not advise. As far as the restaurants the general consensus is that the steakhouse is the best restaurant to eat. You will need to reserve a table which has to be done at least the day prior and I would suggest using the hotel app. The steakhouse was pretty good I must say the only restaurant that I did not eat at was one called the ocean because it was closed and I did not eat at the Italian restaurant either. I did enjoy Koi which is the hibachi but to be honest it's like all the rest the flavors of the food were all the same because the chef used the same ingredients on the beef the chicken and the shrimp. Fried rice was pretty crunchy you could tell it was a day or too old and the veggies were good but again had the same flavors that he used on all the proteins. The best tip I could give you for that is if you are with a group of friends you'll make it worthwhile so I was fortunate but yes the steakhouse is the best place to eat. In the mornings we would hit up the buffet. Every day the same for me I had an omelet and some fruit decent breads and of course they served up the dinner portions from the day prior. The beach is very nice the water has some blue patches and some patches with massive amounts of seaweed but the beach for the most part was very clean and very manageable. I will suggest that you get out there early to secure yourself a beach bed of your choosing. I for one was out there every day no later than 7:00 a.m. to do so. After securing a spot at the beach every morning I went to the gym on the adult side located on the second floor. Plenty of treadmills bikes and ellipticals. Free weights benches and good standard machines in a very clean facility water on site and air regulated. The gym is actually really really good if you are the type that likes to work out. I definitely will give their gym and eight out of 10 I literally spent every day of my vacation there first thing in the morning. I spent one day poolside and although it was a little too relaxed for me by midday say around 2:00 there was Hotel entertainment that came out played a little music offered some games did a little dancing and I must give it up to the pool staff because they were actually really really good so for that I like to say thank you to a young lady that everyone calls "Bon Bon" and her crew they definitely livened up the place daily when it was most needed. All in all I would say it is a good trip I'm not entirely sure if the price that I paid coincides with the service and that's simply me comparing this resort to the others that I have reviewed in punta Cana. There still is one in particular that you can read in my reviews that holds the title of the best all-inclusive resort for adults in punta Cana. Lastly I will mention one last thing that kinda no let's not say kinda it did annoy me to the core right as I was leaving. On the morning of my final stay I did something that I normally don't do. I got up very early in the morning because I packed my bags the day prior and I went back out to the beach I took a swim in the ocean came to the pool took a swim in the pool had some breakfast it was very hot that day I get back to the room turn on the water and what do you know there is no water at all in the shower or sink literally nothing coming out of the faucets. I called the front desk and was told that they were working on it but there was no definitive answer as to when the water would be back on. I didn't think much of it I figured it'll be at least 30 minutes but I had about two or three more hours before it's time for me to check out so I wasn't worried. 2 hours later and multiple calls back down to the front desk there was no definitive answer as to when the water would be back on nor was there a solution for me to take a shower before I checked out. Nobody went out of their way there was no bellman to assist with the bags I brought all my stuff down to the lobby I voiced my gripe to the front desk I was advised to go to the family side where they had a general use shower for guests. I ended up doing that pretty annoyed but made it happen. Just felt like a little bit of a slap in the face as if the enthusiasm when I arrived was that all-time high but the moment it's time for you to depart all of that's out the window. In summary my stay was decent but nothing to rave about when I return back to this resort probably not what I refer to this place to someone else depends on the age and the price at the moment. But this resort in my opinion was just slightly making it to the plateau of average. It wasn't bad it wasn't the best it was simply okay.

Overall the resort was very clean and a great size for a quaint adult resort. Check in was quick although we did need to go back to have them set us up to use the WiFi. The rooms were clean and stocked with drinks and snacks. I found we needed to ask for face cloths, soap and floor mats as after the first day, they never supplied them. The gym was incredible! Truly impressed as I’ve been to many resorts and the other gyms did not have half of the space or equipment available. Eduardo did such a great job of keeping it clean and organized. He also ensured that we were able to use the equipment without any issues. The Market is a buffet style restaurant and had a good assortment of food although it was hard to get a server to come to your table. The Braseria steakhouse was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of meat. Even though I do not drink alcohol our server ensured we had a pleasant evening with a lovely mocktail. The portions of food at La Palapa were enormous. I felt bad having to send some back as there was a lot. Good idea to share plates or ask for a smaller portion. The Koi Teppanyaki was eventful. Our chef kept us entertained while making our dinner. He touch special care when preparing the meals for people with food allergies. The coffee shop was a lovely treat and a busy spot. Raquel did such an incredible job and always with a smile on her face. I miss her lovely lattes! The pools are designed based on your needs. There is an entertaining pool, a quiet lounging type pool and one for the elite club. You can also venture to Serenades next door to use the rooftop pool. Throughout our visit we never had an issue finding a spot or leaving our items there when we ventured to the beach for a swim or walk. The beach and ocean area was well kept. You could walk out quite a distance to the break wall and the water would not go over your head. One suggestion for the hotel would be to have a specific location to donate any books that you have read and would like to leave for someone else to enjoy. They seem to be scattered on benches and some tables. The entertainment at night was great. As our room wasn’t too far we weee able to enjoy it from our balcony. Overall it was a lovely vacation and I would certainly come back to this resort

First time in DR Serenade All suites and my experience has been phenomenal. From overly welcoming staff to a clean facility all day and night. Lots of activities to do, drinks were amazing especially the Mojitos. My morning ritual always starts at the gym. Super clean facility as well and clean equipments. Only thing would be nice to have a bench press machine otherwise everything was great! I’ve been coming everyday on my vacation and made friends with the staffs. Yenny Perez, Adonis Jimenez, Eduardo. All have been attentive to ensuring equipments were clean and to giving me free personal training tips! Def recommending to my friends! 10/10 for sure!
