Bartender Richard in the Sports Bar was UNBELIEVABLE all week!!! Great service, makes the atmosphere super fun for everybody there!!
Animátoři jsou naprosto skvělí a úžasní. Taky velice krásní chlapci ❤️ Capucino je naprostý best. Pumba okouzlující.. Velice úžasní animátoři!! Večerní párty tance naprostý luxus. Vtáhnou vás do jiného světa 😘
Had a good vacation, better then expected. Food and entertainment was good. Room was dated but only slept there. Glad we left when we did as large March break groups were coming in.
I would like to say that the service of most of the workers exceeded my expectations. Nearly everyone was very friendly, helpful, and worked hard. I understand it is difficult to serve so many guests every day, but all the staff at the resort did a fantastic job. The resort was clean and well maintained. There were many helpful and friendly people, and I can't remember all their names. I'd like to call out Yoharny, who welcomed us at arrival and brought our bags to the room, while explaining the resort to us. He was kind, hard working and funny. Next, the people at Cafe Coco 2.0 were excellent. Specifically, Jinette was super kind. She took everyone's order with a smile, and remembered my face and order very quickly. I have two toddlers and she always warmed milk for them, and got the coffee ready quickly. She was very pleasant person. There was another guy who worked there, but I can't remember his name. Raul maybe? He worked the evenings and was also very nice. Finally, Juan in the main buffet making the pizzas was awesome. We came in right after a rush and everyone took all the pizzas. He saw my girls wanted nothing but pizza so he asked what type they'd like and made pizza especially for them. He was friendly with them and us, and it made our night so nice. The staff at the Kaleidoscope buffet were all great as well. The lady making omelettes in the morning was great, as well as all the waitresses and even the cleaning staff would make my girls laugh. If there was one criticism to bring up, it'd be to have the pools cleaned more or have their filters upgraded or something. I'd regularly see scum in the pool which looked rather gross. I think that is a pool mechanical issue though, and not a staff issue.
The week of “well that’s mildly disappointing or a slight-inconvenience, oh well, at least we’re on vacation” Front Desk/Check-in The check-in process was fairly quick and easy. We got there around 1 and our room wasn’t ready. This is to be expected at every resort in the DR. Rooms usually aren’t ready until 3 or 4. This is why I always have a change of clothes and swimsuit in my carry on. We grabbed lunch and when we came back to the front desk our room was ready. Our Room We were in building 3. The room was clean. There were a few spots that show normal wear & tear. Corners get bumped and tiles get cracked. No biggie, we expect this when we travel to Punta Cana and this doesn’t take away our enjoyment of vacation. The mattresses and pillows in our room were awesome! We’ve had some bad ones at other resorts. A good mattress can make or break a vacation. One of my pet peeves is rooms that don’t have enough storage to unpack. The closet had plenty of space to hang dresses and shirts. But no drawers to unpack other items. Just a few small cube shelves in the closet. I took one and gave my husband the other two. I just left most of my smaller items in my suitcase and set it on the foot stool all week. A dresser would be a great addition to the room. There was plenty of space for one and it would be great to not leave all of your items sitting out on the table for the week. The vessel sink was mounted too high and was a little difficult to wash my face. I’m average height, but if I was short it would have been impossible to rinse my face. Housekeeping Inconsistent. How many towels can you expect to get? I don’t know because it was different every day. Ideally, we would like 3 body towels, 1-2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths and a bathmat. One day, they didn’t leave any body towels. We were done for the day and just wanted to relax on our patio and I noticed they hadn’t left any towels so I put a housekeeping request on the app asking for towels. Two hours later, we still didn't have any towels. I tried to call the front desk, but the phone wasn’t working. We took our showers and dried with our pool towel. We went to the lobby and the front desk was overwhelmed with check-in guests. We found our Amstar Rep and let her know. She spoke with someone and they said it would be taken care of. When we got back to our room after dinner, they had delivered towels. Another day, they only left 2 towels. I went out into the hallway and there was still 1 housekeeping cart, so I tried to explain that I needed a towel. She didn’t have any on her cart, but let me know it would be a minute and asked what room. It took about 15 minutes, but she did bring the additional towel. Another day they left the 2 body towels but there were no carts in the hall. My husband used the hand towel so I would have the 2 body towels I need. One day, they didn’t leave a bathmat, so we used one of our beach towels. You definitely need the bathmat. The shower floor isn’t sloped properly and will let water run all over the bathroom if you don’t use one as a dam. Amenities We were not Sunclub. Our shower had Shampoo and Shower Gel. There was no hand soap for the sink, so we just grabbed some shower gel when we washed our hands. Now I wonder if it was just inconsistencies with housekeeping that missed placing this at our sink. Mini fridge and water were restocked at a level we are used to in Punta Cana. We don’t use a ton of beverages in the room. We never ran out of bottled water. Pools I had already read reviews that there had been some changes at the resort and that there was no longer an adults-only pool. With that being said, their app and website still show this is available at the resort as of the day we left. They really need to update their own information when they make this type of change. They show that they have a “Relaxation” pool on the app. I asked the concierge about this and he explained where it was. When my husband and I found it, it felt more like a pool that was for use by the ground floor rooms in the 2 buildings it was between. There weren’t any extra chairs and just grassy area at the end of the pool. Don’t go with the plan to relax by the pool. The main pool was incredibly loud from the music and entertainment team activities. This might be what some people are looking for on vacation. And if that’s your vibe, this is the resort for you. We have never been to a resort where the entertainment is so “agressive”. Usually they are in an area of the main pools, but you can still find somewhere to chill and relax. Not at this resort. We tried to find chairs as far away from the entertainment area and the music was still at a volume that was absolutely overwhelming. At a level that it made it impossible to even have conversations at some points. The towel game is strong at this resort. Probably the worst we’ve ever seen in the 20 years we’ve been traveling to Punta Cana. We would put our towels out before going to breakfast while there was still a good number of chairs available. By the time we finished and got back to the pool by 9, most chairs were claimed. By 10, you might be able to find a single chair, but nothing with multiple chairs. As we were sitting in our chairs, we watched people stop at their pool chairs and straighten their towels. Then off they would go to the beach. We wouldn’t see them for 4-5 hours. This happened every day. Multiple times, we would see 1 person grab 4-6 chairs for their entire group, but never see more than 1-2 people in the seats. I don’t expect that people will have any common courtesy and only take a chair if they have an immediate need of one. After all, they are on vacation and they left those manners at home. A resort of this size doesn’t seem to have enough pool chairs around the main pool. But I would also say that this main pool isn’t big enough to support a resort of this size. Bars I don’t love that they use disposable plastic cups or paper cups in most of the bars. This feels so wasteful. Other resorts that we have been to use reusable plastic glasses. Several days of our vacation, the bars were out of basic items for a pool bar. Want a vodka-cran, nope - they don’t have cranberry today. Does a Coco Loco on their menu sound perfect, nope they can’t make that. Want a Banana Mama like you had at the same bar yesterday, sorry they don’t have bananas. How about a Mojito, forget it, they don’t have mint today. At the main lobby bar in the evening, they couldn’t make a Cosmopolitan because they don’t have the cranberry. They weren’t sure what a lemondrop martini is but another bartender said they could make one. Then they tried to put olives in it. Restaurants If you aren’t waiting at the restaurant when they open, or shortly after, expect to wait at least an hour. They’ll give you a buzzer. One night, we asked the hostess if we could go wait in the lobby and she said no it won’t work that far. Unfortunately, that night it was pouring rain. So we stood in the little waiting area for over an hour. There were maybe 4 chairs, which were all full. There is inadequate space to wait during inclement weather. The really frustrating part is being given a buzzer and seeing several empty tables that go unseated for 30-40 minutes. At one restaurant I noticed that a table inside the door was empty when we put our name on the list. We did find chairs to wait that night and I watched that table sit empty for an hour. When they called for us, that was the table they sat us at. Management needs to work on the seating process. If their servers can’t keep up with the number of tables, then get more servers. If the kitchen can’t keep up, get more staff. Overall We won’t be back to this resort. I hope that this review helps others make an informed decision on their vacation. If you are looking to “chill” then try another resort. I know that there are those that would respond to this review with “you should just be happy to be on vacation” or “you are someone who can’t ever be happy”. We selected this resort knowing that the higher level of service we have experienced from other resorts wasn’t going to be there. I can accept not having pool waitresses and needing to get my own drinks from the bar. We also knew it was going to be spring break and the resort would be at or near max capacity. I am good with waiting in a line to get those drinks. This is a great opportunity to meet new people. Unfortunately, the volume of the music made it impossible to have conversations without shouting.
