Alila Ubud

Alila Ubud offers you a peaceful stay in the middle of a jungle. Staff is really nice and takes good care of your needs. Pool offers a great view and a very different concept of breakfast than other star hotels. Options may be less but quality is good. Monkeys can be an issue so keep your balconies closed all the time. Slightly far from the city center but easily accessible. Its very close to Kuber Adventure sports where you can enjoy the ATV rides. Highly recommend this property for your stay in Ubud.

I've stayed at three Alila hotels in Bali: Ubud, Uluwatu, and Seminyak. I hereby declare that Alila Ubud is the worst hotel of them all, and possibly the worst hotel experience of my life. I arrived at around 1:30 PM and checked in around 2:00 PM. They told me that it would take another hour to prepare the room. I thought it was a bit long, but it didn't matter since the normal check-in time was 3:00 PM. They asked me to wait at the poolside restaurant. After an hour and a half, at 3:30 PM, I went to the front desk to ask again, and they actually told me that it would take another 45 minutes? They said their occupancy rate was 100% today, and it's obvious they're severely understaffed to handle the situation. It's almost 5 PM now, and my room still isn't ready. I find this utterly absurd. I'm not just angry that you've taken on too many guests; I'm even angrier that you've wasted my entire afternoon—three whole hours! If you'd told me earlier that I had to wait until after 5 PM, I would have left the hotel to do other things. This is my first day here, and I couldn't help but leave a review because I've stayed in no fewer than 200 hotels, and I've never encountered such an ridiculous hotel.

We arrived fairly tired after travelling but we were looked after so well here. Taken to our (upgraded) room we were very impressed with the facilities. Universal sockets, usb sockets, a fantastic shower and possibly the quietist air conditioner we have come across. The first meal set the scene and was served by courteous and so polite staff and was exceptionally tasty. All the staff we interacted with or just passed by were great. The hotel is on a slope so there are plenty of steps which were not so great after we had climbed Mt Batur, the view from our room was so calming and the room itself huge (jungle view village) with masses of space outside as well. We were visited a few times by monkeys but had no issues and we kept our door closed. The staff are what makes this place but I have no complaints about any aspect of this hotel. Booked our trips through the hotel which was convenient.

We recently had the most wonderful 7-night stay at Alila in Ubud. From the moment we arrived, we felt as though we had stepped into an enchanting and peaceful jungle retreat, far away from the bustling streets! The hotel is surrounded by lush greenery and a whole lot of nature, and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Breakfast at The Plantation Restaurant was exceptional, with an incredible variety of fresh, delicious options. A highlight was enjoying breakfast while watching the monkeys play in the trees nearby. The Cabana Lounge was another highlight. The view overlooking the infinity pool and jungle beyond felt like something from a tropical paradise. The food and drinks were consistently superb, and every meal exceeded our expectations. What truly sets Alila Ubud apart is the staff, and we were genuinely blown away by the warmth, and kindness of every staff member we encountered. From the team who greeted us upon arrival to the housekeeping staff, (who maintained our room meticulously), everyone made us feel so welcome. The restaurant staff were outstanding, always attentive and incredibly thoughtful and we would especially like to acknowledge Rusmiyati, Gede, Dee, Widi, Marianthi, and Sri, and several others whose names we unfortunately can't recall. They went above and beyond to make a truly lasting impression on us and they made it their mission to remember our names, making every interaction feel genuine and special. Our package included two massages at Alila Spa, and the spa team also delivered an outstanding experience. We cannot recommend Alila Ubud highly enough. It was a truly memorable stay, and we are already looking forward to returning someday.

Alila never disappoints! Alila Ubud was an excellent and comfortable stay in Ubud for my wife and I. The pool was spectacular as was the FnB and the service. Highly recommended.
