Villa del Sogno

This hotel was booked for us by an agency and, coming from Australia, we had no idea what to expect- our experience was exceptional. We stayed for 4 nights in a room overlooking the lake and the terrace and it was marvellous to wake each morning to a fabulous view. During our stay my husband celebrated his birthday and many members of staff took the time to extend their birthday wishes. During our stay we had breakfast each day, a couple of light dinners and drinks on the terrace. Service for each of these was excellent. The hotel is located in a beautiful parklike setting, making it wonderfully peaceful

A magical retreat on Lake Garda: timeless charm and unmatched views Our stay at Villa Del Sogno was simply unforgettable. This beautifully preserved villa from 1904 feels like a step back into a more elegant era, with grand architecture, lush gardens, and an atmosphere of serene luxury. The location is unbeatable: perched above Lake Garda, the views from the terrace, rooms, and pool are absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to that panorama and enjoying breakfast outdoors, with fresh pastries, fruit, and Italian coffee, was a daily highlight. Service throughout our stay was warm, professional, and thoughtful. From check-in to departure, every interaction was welcoming and made us feel well cared for. The villa itself has so much character, with historic details everywhere but still all the modern comforts you would expect. It is quiet, intimate, and perfect for a relaxing escape. I can see why so many guests return year after year. Villa Del Sogno truly lives up to its name, it is a dream.

Amazing staff and outstanding food. Florin/ Angelo and the team are brilliant. Views are stunning with a classic and authentic Italian feel. Very much old school in all its values. Highly recommend but you need a car as there is no shuttle and the walk to local amenities it’s not pleasant ( main busy road). Def return for a chill.

Huge disappointment 😣 1. At 05 30 I discovered no tes/ coffee making facilities in the room. Phoned reception and requested for room service. You have to wait until 07 :00? Unacceptable excuse. At €500 night cant you afford a kettle , a beaker + tea and coffee. Just like all other hotels. Or better still employ one more charming man from Sri Lanka to provide room service during the night hours, 2. Go and watch elderly guests trying to get into the pool. They all needed assistance. For heavens sake add a hand rail at the shallow end. Simple ! 3. I was unable to get to the changing room, poolside. Steps, but NO hand rail. So changed behind one of the chairs. Not welcome. 4 At check in G. Vanoni took ages to decide which room to give and then what rate go charge me. Eventually she quoted €500. Which i wrote down. The next morning the bill was for €551 😉 I naturally questioned this. The receptionist was adamant it was correct. After much discussion she got G. Vanoni on the phone who said I was wrong and she was right. She then said she can't see what rate was in the computer for last night. G. Vanoni IMHO needs training in customer facing skills. She refused to listen. Just kept speaking over me, She has 2 ears and 1 mouth. Try using them in that proportion. So I left VILLA DEL SOGNO , very dissatisfied. Just not worth €500 ,,,,,,,, for what..? I normally only use Trip Advisor to only make a favourable report. If something is wrong I prefer to tell them face to face.

We stayed at Hotel Villa del Sogno for two nights. Frankly speaking, it's not worth the price by its hardware and software. Hardware part: the building is old, the rooms lack of any modern amenities with used up furniture, aged room deco, old bedding materials, no coffee machine and small bathroom. There are only a handful guests for breakfast, and the breakfast was not good, lack of variety and the supposedly hot food was rather cold instead. The five star is clearly over-rated. Will no visit again and will not recommend.
