Falkensteiner Family Hotel Lido Ehrenburgerhof

We (a family of four, two adults and two children aged 10 and 14) stayed for four nights in late October 2025. We travelled from the UK, flying EasyJet from Gatwick to Innsbruck, Austria. The flight was under two hours and we hired a car at the airport (the car rental office is conveniently located opposite the terminal). The drive to the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido took around an hour and a half through stunning mountain scenery. There are two tolls along the way, costing around €15 in total, though you can avoid them by adding roughly 30 minutes to the journey. Check in was smooth and welcoming, passports were copied and we were offered a choice of welcome drinks. The reception area is bright and spacious, with hanging and rotating chairs that immediately set a relaxed tone and a touch of fun for kids. We were given a map and a run through of the hotel’s facilities and opening hours. The resort is built in a U shape overlooking the lake and surrounding countryside. I’d read reviews mentioning an “industrial area” nearby; while there is a railway line and some construction behind the property, these are barely noticeable once inside. The views from the hotel are beautiful, and the setting feels peaceful and secluded. If you drive to the hotel there is a secure under ground garage with lifts to hotel and numerous car charging points. We stayed in Room 279, a Superior Suite. It featured a small lounge area with plenty of wardrobe space, a mini fridge, a kettle and a king size bed with 2 single duvets. A separate children’s room (with twin beds and a sliding door for privacy) made the setup ideal for families. The bathroom had a double sink and a large walk in shower. Toiletries and a hairdryer are provided along with robes, slippers and flip flops for the kids. You also get a branded tote bag with swimming towels in. The highlight was the enormous covered balcony, furnished with beanbags, loungers, and an egg chair perfect for relaxing and taking in the views. We found the room very warm, the temperature is set at 23 degrees. We turned the heating off and left the balcony window open. You will hear the local church bells and call to mass at 7am. All meals are included in the room rate, guests are assigned a table for the duration of their stay. • Breakfast (07:30–10:30): Excellent buffet with cereals, pastries, breads, yogurts, fruit, continental meats and cheeses, plus a live egg and pancake station. • Lunch (12:15–13:45): A lighter buffet featuring soup, salad, pasta, wraps and other small dishes. • Cake and Bake (15:00–17:00): A selection of cakes. This felt slightly underwhelming and could be improved, it would work better served in the reception bar area. • Dinner (18:30–21:30): A 3 course menu with themed nights and a good range of options for both adults and kids. Our only criticism is that adult food wasn’t always very hot, warm at best which was a shame. Kids plastic plates and cutlery are available if age requires. Hot and soft drinks (juices, water, fizzy drinks, coffee, tea) are included during all meals. Wine and beer are available to purchase (a glass of house wine is €6.50). There is an ice cream bike in the restaurant with a selection of ice creams in choice of tub or cone available during every meal. Facilities and activities is where the resort truly shines it’s a paradise for children! The rooftop play area includes a go kart track, dry ski slope, trampoline park and pirate ship. The indoor and outdoor pools feature exciting slides, a chill out zone with comfy beds and a great family atmosphere. The kids’ clubs offer a wide range of creative and active programs. The hotel also organizes daily excursions, led by a guide with a minibus. You can join in your own car if preferred. We particularly enjoyed the Flyline Wasserfall tour. A 50 minute hike past 3 waterfalls to a Flyline. 6 minute glide through the forest back down. Don’t forget to bring cash for the Flyline (exclusively open to hotel guests at this time of year) and a few euro coins for the duck and ball races at the start of the walk. The café alongside the car park serves delicious apple strudel and hot chocolate and has beautiful views of the snow capped mountains. We also visited Lake Braies, which lived up to expectations although very busy. The circular loop walk took about 1.5 hours with plenty of photo stops. Day trips are complimentary, with guests only paying for parking and any onsite activities (Skyline €42 for 4 people, boat rental €55 for 45 minutes including a souvenir magnet). All activities at the hotel are included apart from the ski and boot hire €50 for two people per 24 hours. You can also rent electric bikes. The adult only spa is a peaceful retreat with various saunas, steam rooms and a relaxation area. Our children also enjoyed their own treatments. Our 14 year old had her first teen facial (€80 for 1 hour), while our 10 year old had a “Cinderella Bath,” a fun 30 minute experience, she was just on the upper age limit but loved it. Huge circular bath with tons of bubbles, Barbie toys, tattoo stickers and a kids mocktail. While not a budget option (we paid about £3k for 4 nights through booking.com) the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido offers excellent value for money considering the quality, facilities and inclusions. It’s a dream destination for families particularly those with younger children (under 12). We had a wonderful holiday exploring the Dolomites and can’t wait to visit more hotels in the “Falky” group in the future. Highly recommend.

Wow what an amazing hotel! We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this incredible family hotel and are looking to rebook for next year! The food is exceptional, the facilities are perfect for all the family, so much to do, the setting is amazing and the staff could not do enough! Some of the finer attention to detail was so well thought out, you are allocated the same table every day for breakfast and dinner, which is set for your family, with a high chair/baby chair and bib if needed, the staff get to know your drinks orders and what you like. The reception team were so friendly, always greeting you as you walked through. Our little ones didn’t want to go to the kids club but the programme of activities for all ages was huge and looked amazing! We ventured out a couple of mornings to the nearby lake and mountains but wanted to return as there was so much to do at the hotel. Would highly recommend for a family trip! We had the most wonderful stay at the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido in South Tyrol. The hotel itself is fantastic, with beautiful attention to detail throughout. Our room was stylish and comfortable, complete with a lovely balcony and the highlight for our boys — a magical little rooftop “nest” den where they could play. What really impressed us was how thoughtfully everything is designed for both children and parents. From practical touches like bed guards to fun extras like the toys in the Living Room and the brilliant Valo Jump (our boys’ favorite!), nothing has been overlooked. The pool area was spotless, with exciting slides for the kids and a gorgeous chill-out zone for when we wanted to relax. It’s truly a paradise for families. But don’t think this resort is just for children — adults are very well looked after too. The serene, adults-only spa was a haven for us, and we absolutely loved using it. Food is always an important part of our holidays, and as a vegan family, we sometimes worry about being limited. Not here! Every evening we were served an imaginative and delicious four-course meal, even a vegan steak! And also a tailored children’s menu as well. The chefs put so much care into creating plant-based dishes that were not only healthy and thoughtful, but also beautifully presented and full of flavor. And finally — the service. This is what truly elevated our stay. Great hotels only become exceptional when the staff go above and beyond, and that’s exactly what happened here. We celebrated a 40th birthday during our trip, and the team made it feel so special. Nicolle, Nicholo, and Dominika deserve a special mention — warm, attentive, and simply brilliant. In short, don’t hesitate to book this hotel for your next holiday. With easy access to the breathtaking Dolomites for day trips, outstanding service, stunning accommodation, and fantastic food, Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido delivers an unforgettable experience for both kids and adults alike.

Perfect hotel for families with children. We were with children aged 4 and 6. They enjoyed this place. The kid's club is very high standard with professional staff. Lots of activities. All the staff at the hotel are very kind and helpful. I would like thank to Nicolo for the service and kindness. I highly recommend this hotel

We had a wonderful week stay here and it had everything our family could have needed. First impressions were strange as the hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate but once you are in the hotel you soon forget this. Staff all very attentive, great facilities for families from the trampolines to football and pool. We were there for buon ferragosta an Italian bank holiday and this was fantastic with the hotel going all out. There are a few areas the hotel could improve on to make it truly exceptional. The food choice for children is very limited. There’s only one choice in the evening other than the pasta station and nothing at lunch. As a family hotel they can do better. The pool was also boiling, great in winter but not needed in summer when it’s 33 degrees outside. We were there in the height of summer and there needs to be better management of outside sun beds. Some leave their towels there all day and others were getting into altercations as they took peoples beds! You definitely need a car at this hotel to see the true Dolomites, we went to the Moviment park, Fly Line, Kron Action and the summer park at Le Crusc - all recommended.
