Hotel San Remo

We stayed here for a night before our cruise. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good. We picked this hotel based on its close proximity to the train station so we could walk there. We never felt unsafe at the hotel. However, right around the train station was not so good, and we did see one man doing drugs down the street from hotel. Hotel is close to shops and cute outdoor cafes and we were able to walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi, Pantheon, Colosseum, Roman Forum. Our room was big - 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths. It had been updated, but the air conditioning wasn't super cool, but comfortable.

I was disappointed with my stay this time. The room was very small for two people, and despite asking several times to be moved, we were repeatedly told that no other rooms were available. The staff were also much less helpful than on previous visits, which was very disappointing. Another issue was the air conditioning. In the room, the temperature seemed to be locked at a certain level unless you specifically asked about it. Additionally, there was no air conditioning in the breakfast room, which made it very uncomfortable given the hot weather. The location remains one of the hotel's biggest strengths and is a major reason why we continue to return. However, overall, there are several areas that need improvement, particularly when it comes to looking after returning customers. This stay did not meet the standards we had experienced before, and I was left feeling quite let down.

The airconditioning in the room was not working the whole time and it was a heat wave in rome in May. Nevertheless stayed for 2 nights.
