Hotel Santa Gilla

The hotel is adequate. The rooms are large, and some of them have a view of the surrounding wetlands. The rooms were serviced daily. The hotel is twelve (12) miles from the interesting historical part of Cagliari -- the only things nearby were a mall which had a cafe and a pizza place, and a grocery store, though there might have been some other food options. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast and dinner - it's buffet style, with the usual over-cooked, cafeteria-style food, though they did have good swordfish steak one night. One night our group reservation for dinner was canceled on the same day because a wedding party had reserved it that night. You could hear the noise througout the hotel. This event wasn't mentioned when our group booked dinner there (over a month in advance) although the hotel must have known there would be a wedding reception that night. I wouldn't choose to stay there again.

I had a good size double room, which was nicely decorated with a balcony overlooking the lagoon. Seeing the flamingoes from my room was amazing. There were plenty of wardrobes, cupboards and drawers. There is a kettle and cups but you will need to bring your own tea/coffee. Small key operated safe (free). Good size bathroom with walk-in shower. Small supermarket across the road.

This is a hotel situated about 2i minutes drive from the centre. Plenty of parking and friendly staff. The room was pleasant with a fridge and a kettle. There is a supermarket 5 minutes walk with good value beer and wine. The drinks in the hotel were expensive for the location and again there are three bars within walking distance. We had the buffet two nights and the first night was very good but the second poor! The breakfast was chaotic and not particularly good !

Gluten free selection was poor. While pasta was tasty - only entree size. Had run out of Vegan tacos an hour after opening. Zero concern from staff. Had to pay for iron, pool towel, and extra glasses. Extremely disappointed for price paid.

Excellent vacation in Sardinia near Cagliari. Very good breakfast, excellent swimming pool. The hole experience was complete with the very kind treatment of Rita, the lady in the front desk. Definitely she is the person who puts this hotel at a better level.
