Staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. I was allowed two extra hours extra in my room for my convenience on checking out. Also was given a travel adaptor plug when I found my own didn't work. This was a life saver! Hotel is very much as it is described and appears.

Hotel Regina e Fassa feels like a relic from times long gone in Eastern Europe. Like one of these holiday heavens, concrete for the masses. It’s more like a public institution than a hotel. Worn down buildings, the rooms smell like old ski boots, the food situation is horrendous, manic loud music supposedly to entertain children plays through out until 22.30 every night…and it’s not even cheap. We actually booked the nicer one of the two hotels managed by the same group. Payed for the nicer one, but got stuck here instead. Everything about it feels like a scam. Just don’t go here, is my best advice.

The hotel rooms and ski locker room were okay. The hotel was slow to replace food that ran out; eg one jug of milk and not replaced when empty (many other examples). The food was generally of reasonable quality with the exception of the free wine (awful), coffee (awful) and draught beer (awful) in the bar. There were about 10 bottled beers on the drinks menu but none were in stock. The bar was taken over by a kids club every night between 2000h and 2230h. This involved horrendous german music at a ridiculously loud level and dancing. Even with the door closed and us sitting round the corner in reception, we could barely speak to each other. The hotel needs a quiet area for adults (the majority) to sit. The hotel is several km from any ski slope. There was a hotel bus south on the half hour, and north on the hour. This was inadequate for the number of users and usually made 2 runs in each direction after a scrum to get skis loaded. They need a bus in each direction every 15 minutes at peak times. The same thing happened on return journeys at the end of the day. The resort ski bus works okay but is about 500m walk down an icy path. You have to pay 3 Euros for a day ticket but only if a ticket inspector gets on; there doesn't seem to be any other way to pay. We only paid once but used the bus most days. It would be better if 10 Euros was added to every ski pass and the buses were free.
