Hotel Taimar

Ignore previous negative reviews, obviously people don't research and then like to have a moan about things for no reason. Just returned from a week at the hotel, yes the hotel is quiet and yes the bar shuts at 11pm, we as a group of 4 was quite happy playing games in the restaurant till midnight and enjoying the peace. If you don't want to stay in the restaurant then you can go back to your room which we also did. I researched prior going and agreed that its not the hotel that you want to stay at if you are looking for entertainment etc as there isn't any, however was really not bothered as meant we got a great nights sleep. Not a place I would recommend bringing children though as even though there were some at the hotel I was surprised as if I was a child I would of got bored easily, should really be an adults only hotel. Great hotel if you are disabled, rooms large, facilities such as ramps, lift etc to make sure you get about. was so nice to see a hotel that caters for people in wheelchairs or those who have disabilities. Food was nice, had different things most nights, not a big variety of things but found this to be better as sometimes you get to much choice when going to larger hotels, found things to eat every night and everything felt fresh, only negative comment would be the Mugs supplied for tea/coffee they felt old and some were quite chipped which was disappointing. The beach is about a 15 - 20 minute walk away and was pleasant enough stroll down. you can walk through the park for extra shade to get out of the sun plus they hold a market on a Sunday which is also very nice. There are 2 mini shops (one directly the hotel to the right and another further along the road on the left) which had everything we needed. If not there are 2 Spa supermarkets and a Hiperdino in Costa Calma itself which are much bigger. Didn't use the pool as spent more time down the beach as the pool was cold and not heated but sunbathed on the roof terrace and had no issues getting a sunbed, bar was sufficient enough and they would have some small snacks available in the afternoon, would say that ice creams would of been nice if they had been included in the All Inclusive and maybe some other items but understand its smaller hotel. Room was spacious, great outside terrace with seating which had the sun for most of the day, Large walk in shower and rain head shower which was lovely! Room was cleaned daily and was very roomy with twin beds (pushed together) and a couch. Large wardrobe and TV, with kettle and mini fridge. Safe was located in the wardrobe however didn't use as had to pay for this at reception. would say if anything that these should also be included and that room was quite light at night from the lights outside the back coming through the bathroom window. Had a walk around the complex, yes there are cats that wander around (some friendly and liked a fuss and others that didn't) got greeted by 3 especially which was nice and you learnt to know the ones who didn't want a fuss. Reception was nice, got greeted when we checked in and got explained things/ where things were. We arrived past when dinner service closes (9.30pm) but was left a plate of cold food for us so we didn't go hungry which I thought was a lovely touch Reception was very helpful when we wanted to get a taxi back to the airport. Overall had a lovely chilled out week and would definitely look to go back again.

Worst holiday ever , the hotel was ok but they didn’t have our premiere room we paid for on arrival , so we had to take another room , and they said we could get our room on Saturday, this was the Wednesday so we 3 nights living out of our cases as we knew we would be moving on the Saturday, but the room was the least of our worries, the hotel restaurant was more like a school dinner hall , food was cold and they ran out of a lot of food only a hour into service , and the only place to sit was the restaurant so u done breakfast lunch And dinner there plus that’s the only place to sit for a drink , at 11 they turned the lights of so the only place to go was ur room , there was no entertainment at all , and in that week I never saw one snack anywhere , and there was no local shops or restaurants, so if u wanted to go out it was taxi , I can only warn other British people that place and hotel is not a holiday , I felt as if I was in a nursing home , and trying to get anyone from Jet2 to speak to was another nightmare, as there is no reps in Costa Calma , eventually we got a call from Jet2 and we asked to be moved they came back and told us it would cost £350 for another hotel and we had to pay our own taxi and that was over £150 , so we refused as we didn’t have that kind of money , so all in all we are 2 pensioners who had to save up for our wee holiday and it was just so disappointing, and now Jet2 has just got back to us 7 weeks later and offered us £123.26 , that’s not going to make up for the terrible time we had , me and friend are very disappointed in Jet2’, when over the years I’ve had lots of holidays, and this is the most disappointed I’ve ever been , so please do not go to that hotel as u would be better of at caravan holiday in the UK

Location a little out of the way so bit of a walk to the beach, Good for some quite time, nice atmosphere around the hotel, pool and dinning room, staff friendly, rooms clean and are in good condition, Food was nice small selection but this is due to only being a small hotel. pool and pool bar really good, dinning room area can be a bit chilly and windy if outside of the summer season. No issues with noise levels during our stay. Staff could possibly do with some training on Gluten free or other allergens. Some very friendly cats in and around the hotel. The black cat who sits by the dinning area door looks to be the boss cat.

We booked room for adults only area and it was perfect. Comfortable beds, big shower and perfectly working AC. There we big terrace and also frigde on the room. Meal was good, easy but always something tasty to be found. Good beer. Pool is on the 1st floor, not so big and not many sunbeds. Pool bar was working well. No evening noisy fun events on the hotel, which was good. I would recommend for people, who finds some privacy and also get all inclusive hotel. Beach is realy not easilly reacheable by walk. So rented car is recommend, to be ready to visit beach and other nice Fuerteventura places.

Wouldn't recommend, no entertainment, nothing around the hotel, food average in a cold restaurant, which is more like a cafeteria, no separate lounge for a drink,drinks are below average, advertising bar snacks, non existed, advertising mini bar in room again non existing, would not return, been to many all inclusive hotels, and this is awful.
