Nice hotel, not a great choice for vegans but I managed to find things to eat. Staff were friendly. Rooms were spacious with comfy bed. The only thing I didn't like was that the restaurant and bar area was not enclosed so it was cold at night as it was like a wind tunnel. This was in May so no doubt even colder in Winter months.

If you're booking Hotel Taimar expecting a 4-star experience based on its advertising or star rating prepare for a reality check. I can confidently say this hotel falls well short of that standard in every way. The hotel reception area is more like a minicab office than a hotel lobby. It is sparse, dull and uninviting; it completely lacks any welcoming atmosphere. When we arrived, the receptionist on duty did not want to be there. His attitude confirmed that. He made no effort to be pleasant or explain anything about the hotel or the area, and didn’t want to be asked any questions. He came across as someone who should not be working in a customer-facing role. There is no lounge area, no bar seating in the evening, and no entertainment of any kind. Supermarket-style music plays in the background, but there’s absolutely no atmosphere. The hotel is cold and soulless. The rooms are basic but functional. They lack any charm and are definitely not anything resembling 4-star luxury. If I had booked a budget 2-star hotel, they’d be fine, but for a 4-star? Nowhere near! The hotel is heavily catered towards German, French, and Spanish guests. We couldn’t shake the feeling that English guests weren’t especially welcome. Staff were generally indifferent and not overly friendly. The swimming pool is quite small, and there’s no children’s pool. There’s nothing else in terms of facilities or leisure offerings. The all-inclusive offer is extremely limited. The food is genuinely poor. Everything tasted the same – meats were either undercooked or incredibly dry, pasta was chewy and unappetising, like eating rubber bands, and the sauces all had a strange, unpleasant taste. I’m not a fussy eater, and this is the first time I’ve stayed somewhere where I genuinely couldn’t enjoy a single meal. Desserts were the same everyday mini dry cake, mousse, or basic ice cream – both at lunch and dinner. Completely uninspired and repetitive. There are no snacks unless you consider a mini dry pastry-style croissant left over from breakfast as an offering. Two cocktails are available on AI, and a few spirits, wine and beer - everything else is to be paid for. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There’s nothing nearby – no bars, restaurants, or even a pleasant evening stroll to be had. If you want to see anything, you’ll need to take a bus into Morro Jable (25 minutes away), but don’t miss the last bus or you’ll be stuck paying a high taxi fare. The beach, a 20-minute walk away, and is beautiful. I genuinely can’t imagine who is writing the positive reviews on this place. It is NOT, and I repeat, NOT a 4-star hotel by any stretch. Holiday companies and tour operators seriously need to investigate what they are selling, because it is completely misleading. If you’re looking for a lively, comfortable, welcoming holiday experience with decent food and atmosphere, this is not the place for you. It is a huge let-down and I have advised our holiday representative to investigate.

My partner and I recently spent a week at Hotel Taimar in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura, a trip we had eagerly anticipated and saved for all year. Despite contacting the hotel prior to our arrival with some concerns, our experience unfortunately fell far short of our expectations for a relaxing holiday. The hotel's location is notably quiet, with very little in the immediate vicinity. While our room was clean, this was one of the few positives we could genuinely highlight. The food quality was a significant letdown. Meals were consistently cold with extremely limited variety, which led to us frequently eating out. The dining room itself was unpleasantly windy; we constantly had to weigh down napkins and sachets to prevent them from blowing away. The pool area was equally problematic. Strong winds created a chaotic environment with cups and other items being blown around. Crucially, there was no shade whatsoever, and the overall appearance felt more akin to a therapist’s pool than a inviting resort space. The advertised shade curtains were zip-tied and completely unusable. Adding to the lack of a holiday atmosphere, there was no entertainment provided during our stay, and no comfortable indoor lounge area to relax in. The entire ambiance felt sterile, more like a hospital than a vacation destination. Our "all-inclusive" package was particularly disappointing. Alcoholic drinks were extremely weak, and there were no snacks offered between meals. Our room had a TV, but frustratingly, there were no available channels. Hygiene was also a concern, as I observed a chef wiping sweat from his face with bare hands, which was quite off-putting. While some staff members were friendly, this was not a consistent experience. It's clear that Hotel Taimar does not live up to the standard of an all-inclusive resort. In stark contrast, our final full day was spent at the Costa Calma Beach Resort with a day pass. That experience was everything Hotel Taimar wasn't – lively, well-equipped, and genuinely felt like a holiday. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Hotel Taimar and would not consider returning.
