Paradisus by Melia Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is a beautiful island. We rented a car and drove from north to south, and were immediately captivated by the stunning landscapes. The roads leading to the hotel are easy to follow and very safe. The final stretch towards the hotel is simply indescribable – absolutely breathtaking! The sand, the mountains, and the seven shades of blue in the ocean create an unforgettable view. There is plenty of parking space around the hotel. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the porter, and the check-in process was smooth and friendly thanks to Xris. The lobby is beautiful and smells wonderful. This is also where the Ginger Bar is located, with its fantastic staff. Amine and Maya were outstanding and always greeted us with a smile. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The entire hotel is exceptionally clean, and the location is simply fantastic. The swimming pools are well maintained, and The Shack offers delicious food and excellent cocktails prepared by Angela, Rayco, and Maya. Chouais also provided outstanding service. Kana was generally very good, although we did have one disappointing experience when our order seemed to have been forgotten and it was handled as if nothing had happened. Fortunately, Mustafa noticed the situation and took care of us with great professionalism. The food at the Italian restaurant was delicious, although it could have been served a little warmer. It would also have been nice to have a bit more time between courses. A special thank you to Samuel for his excellent service. The evenings cool down quickly, but the gas heaters placed throughout the resort create a warm and cozy atmosphere. There is only one small point of criticism that personally bothered me, although others may not mind it. On the morning of our departure, a baby cot for the next guests had already been placed outside our door. It gave us the feeling of, “Time to move on.” That is not quite the feeling I would expect from a Paradisus hotel. That being said, this did not diminish our overall experience in any way. We had a wonderful stay, thoroughly enjoyed every moment, and are already looking forward to returning next year!

Paradise 5* We had the most amazing holiday, the view's from our balcony were amazing! We were speechless. Lovely & modern with a luxury feel. We hired a car from the hotel easy enough and explored the island. The food was the best food we've had from a hotel, lots of options and cooked perfect. Short walk to the beach, roughly 5 minutes, the beach was lovely. Would 100% return. Highly recommend.

A mixed review: Pros: Beautiful view of the beach, stunning turquoise and dark blue contrasting ocean and golden sands The hotel was very clean and well maintained There were lots of staff (more on this in the cons though!) Most staff are generally helpful and polite Cons: Melia continue to try to upsell at every opportunity including the “Circle” membership, there are literally staff members hovering to try and sell upgrades and memberships to you, to the point of irritating. I understand it is a business but I don’t come on holiday and expect to be seen as a target to sell to, over and over again. I mentioned staff earlier, there appear to be plenty but they are not very well organised and don’t seem to know what they are doing (mostly in restaurants and waiting staff). Many don’t speak English which is odd in an international brand of hotel….it looks like leadership is lacking. We never had the same dining experience twice! Sometimes you were offered drinks, sometimes you weren’t, sometimes your order was correct, often it wasn’t, sometimes you were served quickly, sometimes you are ignored….very strange? The food was very bland and repeated but equally I’ve read that people think the food was good, so let’s leave that one down to personal preference!

Overall a great family holiday. Things that stood out: - good food - kidsdom: super friendly staff that run a very entertaining program. Our daughter absolutely loved it - views: the lagoon was breathtaking We loved our room and overall facilities as well. Things that could be improved; - bar at the kids pool was closed. - bar at the main pool had massive queues and sometimes you had to wait good 10min to get a drink. All in all definitely worth booking!

I can’t relate to the bad reviews here. Just come home and it was one of the best holidays I’ve had. As a customer experience manager for a successful company - I was impressed. Everyone has a smile and always wants to help you. Anny & Alicja went above & beyond but also the customer service desk, waiters, cleaners, barmen at the shack were fabulous. Go In June to avoid strong winds. You get great value for money! Drinks are fab, big variety of food, stunning views from the room. I would personally only go if have the ocean view + as some balcony’s look on to the car park. I personally love a view so we went to the ocean front room and it was lovely! Very adult friendly. Some kids are there but it’s not a super kiddy place to be - it was nice to have the piece & quiet. Advice - the sea isn’t safe to swim in. Gorg morning walks can be had but too windy right on the beach in the afternoon. Strong waves & currents. Thank you, Alice & Seb
