HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

We arrived and checked in with nice reception lady. Was very keen to tell us our room did not have a kitchen and was basic, then gave pricing for upgrades. On the beach website says all bungalows have a kitchen. Despite not having a kitchen our bungalow was nice and big and the cot was ready with a little toy which was a nice gesture. We also picked up the baby things we had ordered via a local company. Cleanliness: Service level but needs a deep scrub (187) Food: Good variety but I found the food really really bland. Everything tasted the same and by day 4 of 7 I didn’t really eat anything else. Particularly found the bread really poor. Staff: Very friendly Location: 25-45 mims walk from the beaches, nice and quiet, supermarkets nearby. Things we really didn’t like: You get 2 mugs and they are never replaced/cleaned, we made a point of leaving them outside and after 5 days they were picked up. We got fresh ones at breakfast most mornings. Weird. Had to ask 3 times for some extra sheets. Came back and our air con remote wasn’t there, had to wait for repair man. Weird. Would we stay again: Yes absolutely, we had a wonderful time with our new born but we would get breakfast at most.

Me and my husband only stayed for 3 nights and we were so sad we had to leave after such a short period. But it was a perfect stay and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The entertainment team were absolutely amazing and I hope they get paid enough because they’re all extremely talented. Food was perfect. Our room was extremely spacious and clean. The beds were so comfortable! We didn’t go out the hotel much but unless you care about excursions you don’t really need to leave as the resort has a shop located right on the edge with everything you need. I had a massage at the spa too, and the spa staff we’re extremely welcoming and cheerful. The only downside was when we arrived the receptionist wasn’t very attentive nor smiley. And we did have to work out a lot of things ourselves, we were not provided with much information. But other than that I would give 4 stars out of 5 and would definitely go back!

Really good rooms laid out in very small single story blocks of two. Good facilities, bars and restaurants. Staff were very kind and helpful and particularly enjoyed morning yoga or pilates with Alejandro. Very good value

Currently staying at Cristobal. Only been here 4 days and already can say it’s one of the best places we’ve ever stayed as a family! The facilities are great, exactly what we were looking for. Staying bed and breakfast (would love to be A.I but takes us out of our price range), breakfast has always been nice. Lots of choice (inc traditional English fry up options), always being replenished or cooked fresh in front of you. Location is a bit lacking. There isn’t much to do close to the hotel. But the free bus to Maspalomas beach is a great bonus. Lots of tourist shops, restaurants, bars right on the sea. Our bungalow (047) is located half way between the main clubhouse/restaurant and the kids splash pools. Bungalow itself is lovely. No oven, just two hobs and a microwave. Housekeeping service is brilliant. Room is spotless every day we go back from the pool. Kids splash pool with slides and tipping buckets is heated - this is such a bonus! Bigger pool with bigger slide isn’t too bad once you’re in. There’s a HiperDino on site which is great. No trekking to a shop for bottled water/snacks/ice creams. The hotel has Emblem rooms, which look like they have their own garden area fenced off, would be brilliant for families with smaller kids who like to bolt off, they’d be penned in! We’d love to come back next time and upgrade to an Emblem room just for that as our boy likes to run off a lot! Would highly recommend this hotel. Travelled with Jet2, no problems at all.

I loved this hotel. I initially booked as it was rated 4* by Jet 2 then found out it was only 3*, however I was not disappointed. I travelled with my 15 year old daughter so we didn't use the Splash pool or facilities designed for younger travellers but from what I could see those facilities were good and families with young children are well catered for. The hotel was spotless and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the Emblem upgrade and I thought it was worth it , we especially loved the free Spa pass. We are both fussy eaters but found both the Picnic and Emblem restaurants to have a good variety, food was tasty, plentiful and good quality. I have read reviews saying food was not hot, that was not my experience. We booked the spa and as it happened no-one else was in at that time so we had it to ourselves for 2 hours which was amazing. We had a late flight, being in Emblem we were able to keep the room until 2pm, however I loved the fact the hotel had a shower room so we could spend the last day by the pool then quick shower and change before we left. There were certain areas around the pool where wifi wasn't great but it didn't affect our holiday. There is a supermarket, at the rear of the hotel and a few small shops nearby but there didnt seem to be much else in the locality but taxi's were easy to get and reasonably priced. We took the free shuttle to the beach and then got a taxi back which was 8 euros. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, it caters very well to families.
