HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

I recently stayed at the hotel for 7 days and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were very nice always clean and well-maintained which made our stay especially comfortable. The food was also very good with a great variety available every day from sushi to kebabs so there was always something to enjoy. During our stay, there was plenty to do thanks to the amazing animation team. They kept us entertained throughout the day with a mix of fitness and relaxing activities, as well as shows in the evening that we really enjoyed. We would also like to give a special mention to Fabio, who was exceptionally kind and accompanied us during many activities. He truly made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent 10 days here in one of the Emblem rooms. We were in a 2 bedroom bungalow with private garden and hot tub. The whole hotel is made up of little bungalows spread out across some lovely gardens. There are 2 pool areas - a big one next to the reception/restaurant and a collection of smaller ones at the other end of the grounds with slides and tipping buckets. When we first arrived, our room wasn't ready (Emblem rooms have late check outs which is great for your last day, not so great for your last day) and we were told we would be contacted when we could go to it. 3 hours later, we were still waiting and when we asked we were told that it had been ready for a while. We had spent the time hanging about the reception area so there was really very little excuse for this. Management overheard and were very attentive, checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was okay. FOOD The main restaurant is Picnic which is at the reception. It's a buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner which was actually pretty good. There's a smaller restaurant next to the kids pool that serves lunch things like hot dogs and burgers. There is also an Italian restaurant and that only opened at the weekend and we weren't able to get a table. The main restaurant is very very busy when it first opens and it can be very overwhelming. The selections were on the whole varied and tasty. There was one day where everything seemed to break (the night before there was a very brief powercut and the next day all of the machines/pool slides were very late on turning on) and the food then was very basic and limited. LOCATION There's a free shuttle bus that takes you from the hotel to the beach. This was excellent. We went with our toddler and had a great time. The beach is lovely with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars around it. Back at the hotel, there isn't a massive amount to do. There's a shop right at the back exit which was very handy and a Spar a short walk away which had a more varied selection. EMBLEM We stayed in one of the Emblem rooms. I had read a lot of reviews stating that they didn't think that it was worth the money. I think that if you didn't have the room that we had, it wouldn't be worth it. With the Emblem rooms you get a fancy sunbed (very comfortable) and with our room type, we also got a large dining table, awnings, and a hot tub. Being able to go back to our own space and relax made this worth the money for us. The pools can get quite busy and noisy and being able to give our toddler a safe space to play outside where we could also relax was fantastic. With the Emblem rooms you get a fancy sunbed (very comfortable) and access to the Emblem resturant which is in the back of the main one. It's smaller and a lot quieter. You can still go into the main one and pick your food but you also have the option of a la carte that changes everyday. The mains for dinner are particularly good. On the last night, I had lamb and couscous which was amazing. The staff in the Emblem restaurant were incredibly helpful and kind. Our toddler had a meltdown and the waitress boxed up our dinner and gave us a bottle of wine to go back to the room with. That was very much appreciated.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Our family had a wonderful stay. It's all spotless and so well maintained. Staff were lovely and rooms were super comfortable. We didn't have all inclusive so can't comment on the food but it all looked great! It's perfectly set up for families.

We have just returned from spending 9 nights and overall it was a great experience. Its very family friendly, and having a 4 year old, was well set up for her enjoyment. Main Pros - the staff are excellent, especially the entertainers for the kids. The daily mini disco for the kids before dinner was very energetic and my daughter loved it. The choice and quality of the food was excellent (many have commented on it being cold or lower in temp but I personally think this is to do with the plates not being held in a warmer beforehand). The bungalows are also excellent, we stayed in the one bedroom suite with a kitchen and was great for us for the duration. They also have secure access via a carded gate for a supermarket for pretty much anything you need to stock up. The minor irritants (i wouldn't go as far as calling them cons and these could be easily rectified in the future) The set times for the restaurant openings, I personally thought given the clientele (mainly German, Dutch & British and majority of guests with children) the 8am breakfast and 6.30pm dinner serving was a little on the late side. What we found was a stampede at 6.30 with often the barrier being put up when the restaurant became full within 15-20mins. Kids with families tend to eat earlier so I couldn't understand why dinner service was not staggered from say 5.30 instead. It also stretches to 9.30 and again, hard pressed to find families taking kids to dinner that late. Also the all inclusive was a little confusing at first, again first time where certain options where charged for (certain drinks, ice creams etc) And the other point was the pool temps. First time staying in a hotel where the pool is not heated in cooler months. For me personally it was not enjoyable using the pools due to my soul leaving my body each time I got in. Fair play to all the kids cannon balling in but our daughter had chattering teeth and blue lips after about 15mins in the bigger pool by the splash kids area. With that being said, overall our experience was really positive. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself throughout and at the end of the day, that's what it's all about.

Myself & my husband normally opt for a 5star all inclusive, but thought we’d have a cheeky week away & this one didn’t disappoint. Yes, it is more for young families as there is plenty of entertainment for the kiddos & everything is pretty much child friendly, but saying that, we would have no problems in returning. Food was great, service by the Joaquin & the rest of the restaurant staff was top notch. Great choices of food & drink on the all inclusive package & I would have no issues in recommending. The only downside was that it is a 20min walk to the beach, although there is a free shuttle bus which goes to an adjacent beach 3 times during the morning & returns 4 times during the afternoon… unless you fancy a walk back through one of the designated routes across the dunes…
