HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

It’s actually a nice place but…. All inclusive turns off when it actually works, drinks are self service and often no glasses, no product, broken pumps. The main area is nice but they have building work very loud angle grinders while eating breakfast and again while trying to relax. The cleaners make beds, put the cushions back and stack the chairs outside if they come. The ants just outside our bungalow are more productive. Other than that Great!!!!

Staff were friendly and polite. First time not having our bags taken to our room, late checkout was unavailable, you were only allowed to check the day of departure, the overall process was smooth and quick. We had a private transfer which was excellent. The accommodation was ok, there was hair left from the previous occupants and although having maids in daily it remained there all week. There isn’t much around the hotel which was disappointing. Atmosphere around the resort was friendly. I had a pregnancy massage whilst there which I really enjoyed. The bungalows are spread out which reduced the noise and gave us more privacy. We did the dolphin sightseeing excursion which was amazing and I’d highly recommend. I was really disappointed with the food it was cold, they provided a microwave for you to warm your meals up but I don’t feel this is acceptable with the amount you pay to stay at this hotel. The splash pool was also out of action for the duration of our stay and the pools were freezing. Plenty of sun beds. Easy bus shuttle to the beach. In future I will choose a location closer to the beach. The overall cleanliness of the resort was fine, lots of pigeons scavenging for food in the restaurants. Strange sewerage smell came from out bathroom. I was disappointed when we first arrived, it was much smaller than I expected, and didn’t look like the photos. Despite the negatives we still had a good time, but I wouldn’t go here again. I definitely wouldn’t rate this hotel as 4 stars.

This was our second time returning to HD Parque Cristobal in Gran Canaria. It was the first time we’d returned to a hotel, and we are so glad we did! Value for money as well as the memories - we gave it 5 stars! Highlights: - we are a family of 2 adults, a toddler and baby; the bungalow set up on an all inclusive resort was absolutely perfect and the main reason we returned. We could chill in and around our villa whilst baby slept and take it in turns to refuel with food and drink! - The animation team were fantastic! They work tirelessly preparing and performing the shows and activities. They are enthusiastic, quick witted and try to make everyone feel included. Stand out for us were Angel and Daniela. Gutted we didn’t get to see the Michael Jackson show however, as just didn’t coincide with our stay. - The food is fab. I’m a vegetarian and managed to find plenty to eat. As always, the pasta and pizza are what you’d expect. Go for the salads and homemade dishes as they are so well seasoned and tasty. - Generally the staff. The majority are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond. Our son was 4 an all the kitchen staff came out to sing him happy birthday. He took a real liking to Christina in the family and joy restaurant. - Private gardens. We opted for Emblem for a few reasons. It came with a private garden inclusive of a jacuzzi. It was perfect for cooling off in the midday sun - We arrived after midnight and there was a simple buffet to welcome us - Excellent maintenance of our jacuzzi by a lovely young man - Fab choice of pools - Maintenance of the gardens is great - so beautiful everywhere Areas for improvement: - There were a lot of maintenance works happening when we went. Sadly the splash pad was out of action for 3 days which was a key reason we chose HD parque. It would have been useful to have received a message or a poster up explaining the situation at the very least. Slide pool was also out of action for one day. the organic bar was closed and being refurbished so quite noisy. They were removing palm trees from the pool area (unsure why?) and retiling. I imagine most of this work is coming to an end but the point is more about communication. - When the splash pad is up and running, it just seems a bit bizarre to have such a big bucket empty in an area where mostly toddlers were playing. Many didn’t want to go on that part as so much water falls down. It was a shame as my kiddies would have loved otherwise - The food was mostly excellent but as a vegetarian there were a few dishes not named or not named with enough detail such as ‘rice with beans and vegetables’ on Mexican night. I took a big spoon then realised when eating it there were little bits of meat inside - We loved the activities but felt it could have been a bit clearer where the activities were located with a brief description as some were quite vague eg ‘stunts’ We sometimes planned our day around them so it would have been useful to know exactly what they entailed. On another note, sometimes it says ‘all in’ such as the archery but then you turn up its adults only. Could a child’s set be purchased so it’s inclusive? - The water in the bungalow kitchens is scalding hot (we stayed room no 53) - More sunbeds around the small pool near picnic if possible - Some way to reduce the birds around the outside seating, as it’s lovely sitting out there but the birds are pests! - The pool tables could do with a little update as they are a bit lopsided! - We were Emblem so were entitled to some more premium cocktails. I attempted to order a caipirinha on a couple of occasions. The first ones were made with ice cubes, lemon cut into chunks (with pips) and lemon juice from a carton - definitely not right. I asked the second time if they had crushed ice and they said no so I didn’t even bother. A shame because it’s one of my favourite cocktails and shouldn’t be on the menu if they cannot make it correctly

We have only been here 24 hours and I must say we have been very impressed so far. Every member of staff is professional and friendly. The food is varied and delicious. The rooms, cutlery, plates, glasses, cups etc are spotlessly clean. Staff 10/10 Rooms 10/10 Food 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Entertainment 10/10 We highly recommend.
