Sholeo Lodges Maspalomas

This hotel is centrally located in Playa del Ingles and about a 5-10 min walk from the Yumbo Centrum with plenty of shops nearby. Unfortunately the hotel itself was a bit of a letdown. We stayed on the ground floor and must say there is a complete lack of privacy and had to keep the curtains shut the entire time, this is due to the constant traffic past the rooms. The room itself was rather small and unfortunately we found used plasters stuck by the bed from the previous guests. The room doors are effectively balcony doors that do not have keys but rather a room code. I found this quite frustrating as I had to constantly refer back to an email to enter a code just to get into the room. Rooms are only cleaned once every three days, rubbish isn’t even changed in that time. The bin in the room has dividers so was full after two items. The best part of the room was the shower which was powerful. These rooms also do not have any soundproofing so you can hear EVERYTHING from the neighbouring rooms. Towels are also changed after three days. Pool/beach towels are available at the desk with a deposit of €10 cash only. The hotel grounds have many areas for lounging in the sun, from sun loungers to bean bags and hammocks. The pool was a nice temperature and very clean. There is no pool bar just a vending machine. The bar is located in the main building. We found the prices in the hotel fair. We did not have any meals here as we chose to eat out however the dining area is quite chaotic and poorly thought out. There is no space to move around - this is also the main walkway to all the rooms, the outside area, pool,etc. there are also two televisions and a pool table all crammed into this small space. We attempted to play pool but you can’t even use the cues as the table is too close to the window. The windows have gaps between the glass and when we visited there was a storm so every time it rained the main area of the hotel would have leaks all over the floor. These were soaked up using what appeared to be the pool towels that cost €10. The are some staff at the hotel, two managers that seem to sit in the lobby area on their laptops in blue shirts. There are also other staff in red shirts. The young man and girl with the red hair are very friendly. The rest of the staff get on with their work and are not especially welcoming or friendly to the point of almost being annoyed at the guests and slightly hostile. All in all this felt like more of a self catering hostel than a hotel and for the price paid we were expecting a lot better. Sadly, would not stay here again.

Avoid this hotel! Guests were trapped in a non-stop punk/techno party at 124 BPM from 12 PM to 11 PM. No prior warning, outdated activity info, and zero apology or compensation. Total nightmare for anyone seeking peace.

After reading some of the reviews here I was a bit worried. Let me tell you that these comments are unjust. The hotel is great. Super friendly reception (girl with red hair and the lad ) both super. Greated every time we came and went even the night porter The room. Fine big room with sliding door and great bathroom. Rain shower and the smaller personal one. Beds comfortable the only a bit down size it’s 2 big singles put together. So I was falling inbetween a bit. Not worth complaining about. The towel thing. Ours was changed on day 3. We knew this says on websites so no complaints. If they was wet we put them outside to dry. Breakfast. Perfectly fine. Basic fair but tasty was a bit of a que Sunday but nothing to worry over My suggestion if they read this. Move coffee machine and toaster to the end to make it faster. Again really enjoyed breakfast left full everyday. Selection of bread and cakes pastries Fruit cereal juices yogurt etc Meats cheese Boiled eggs scrambled eggs Spanish omelette bacon and a veggie More then enough If anyone complains you’re being picky for no reason. Cost €600 for 7 nights with breakfast for 2. What more can I say Would we come back yes 100% this is now our base when we visit the island. .

Very recently just returned from this hotel. We been to the area before but not this hotel, overall we were incredibly impressed. We arrived early but we were able to store our luggage, allowing us to enjoy the first few hours. We completed the self check in prior to arriving and then just got given the code to our room which was perfect not having to worry about a key card is so much easier! The room was lovely incredibly clean, beds were comfortable and sufficient storage for clothes ect we had room 2605, which was an upper floor room. The pool area is also very clean and well kept and we must give a special shoutout to Hony on the bar, she was amazing very friendly and would often come up to us on the sun loungers and offer cocktails she even brought the card machine we literally didn’t need to move. Breakfast was good, it wasn’t massively busy while we were there, could always get a table and a sun lounger no issues. If we had to be really picky we did notice that the shower did overflow slightly as couple of times nothing the towels couldn’t sort out but might be something worth looking into. But overall a great stay, so much so that we had a different hotel booked for our return visit in September and opted to switch to this one instead so we will be seeing you again soon. A very friendly welcome & we were excited to have our room right near the pool, as in, the pathway led from our door to pool side, situated on the west side, looking out east. Room 1214. Perfect for morning coffee & breakfast, which we brought up to our room from the buffet. All day music around the pool started at 10am, which was annoying at first. But I got used to it and it does add to the hotel's vibe. In March there seemed to be enough sun beds for people who wanted, but you can relax on big bean bags and the hammock. The air con in the room wasn't efficient, there's a fridge in the room, much appreciated to cool down the beers. If you want to buy, our room seemed to be positioned well, right next to the bar! Rooms 1200 to 1210 are naff, no sun, no views, only of the utility cupboards! Our room was made up twice in the week, even though they say only once. You pay €10 deposit per pool towel, they were bath sheets, so great size. The food is not as good as one would hope for, don't order take out to bring back to your room. Have it plated up, and bring it back! I had vegetarian pizza - it had only courgette & carrots on it. Never had carrots on pizza before!! All in all - a great choice of hotel, all ages here, very chilled out. There's a gym & well being centre for message and yoga classes and a very friendly pigeon with crippled legs, who did poop on our breakfast table but he was lovely to chat too!!!
