Jardin Tecina La Gomera

Jardin Tecina is everything you could wish for in a hotel. Situated on a cliff top high above the small town of Playa Santiago, a perfect spot to enjoy both sunrise and sunset. The hotel is easily accessible via the cliff side lift from the village. A refurbishment programme was completed recently, both the bedrooms and public areas are very clean and well maintained. We booked a sea view (Horizont) room and it was worth every extra penny. My request for an upper floor room was also fulfilled which was very much appreciated. The hotel was very busy being high season but the restaurant staff handled mealtimes effortlessly. The buffet breakfast and dinner options were of a high standard considering the numbers catered for. We enjoyed the botanical walks around the gardens and banana plantation by Jürgen, he is very knowledgeable. The elegant pianist from Denmark plays beautifully in the bar every evening, she even played Loch Lomond for me when she found out I came from Scotland. Weather wise it’s worth knowing that this is the sunniest and warmest part of the island. The staff in the hotel work very hard to ensure guests have an enjoyable stay. Excellent hikes in the area, especially from Imada which is accessible by bus. We simply can’t wait to return.

Lovely hotel in splendid grounds and gardens, rooms are reasonably spacious with fridge for cold drinks, unfortunately there are no tea/coffee making facilities. Very clean rooms and we did not experience an undue noise Plenty of sporting options

Review: Our stay at Hotel Jardín Tecina was a massive disappointment, especially considering we spent over 5,300 Euro. The Service: We were given a verbal confirmation by the reception that we could shorten our stay and receive a refund. Based on this, we rebooked our flights. Afterwards, the hotel went back on their word, hiding behind "non-refundable" terms and essentially calling us liars. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable for a high-end resort. The Food: For a hotel in this price range, the buffet was a letdown. Most of the meat appeared to be pre-boiled/pre-cooked and lacked any culinary quality. It felt more like a mass-production canteen than a 4-star experience. Extra Costs: Despite the high room rate, be prepared to pay extra for almost everything. A large portion of the activities on-site require additional payment, which feels like "nickel-and-diming" the guests. Conclusion: There are far better places to spend your money on La Gomera where they actually value their guests and keep their promises. Stay away.

The hotel complex is beautiful. You might want to consider other options if you have limited mobility as it is built on a cliff and is huge. The gardens around the hotel are beautifully maintained. Pools are great , plenty of sun loungers. There is a quieter spa area but this involves extra cost. Sport facilities are fantastic- lots of tennis courts , padel and a well stocked gym. We went half board which was just fine , good variety of foods but there are not enough staff so there were waits at breakfast to have a table made up for us and on one occasion they had guests queuing outside the buffet for evening service due to how many people were there on that evening. Our room was comfortable and clean but the walls were paper thin so we could hear everything from next door- even the man snoring at night ! Also there are no tea / coffee facilities in the rooms which is very unusual. Overall though would definitely recommend

Wow what an experience. Having never heard of the island La Gomera it was a beautiful experience travelling through the mountains to the hotel (albeit a bit hairy at times!). To then walk into our room to the most stunning panoramic ocean view was beyond exciting! The hotel was full of old Canarian character. And the lift down to the beach was yet another delight. We played golf, and that was more spectacular views! Everyone must visit and experience this place once in their life. Just gorgeous xxx
