Hurawalhi Resort Maldives

We have just returned from Hurawalhi Island following the most wonderful stay at this amazing resort. From the moment we arrived at the welcome jetty we were made to feel special. The welcome ceremony and beautiful surroundings truly set the scene for our holiday. We were introduced to Sam, our island host, who settled us into our overwater pool villa. The villa was exceptional with our own private infinity pool and direct access to the lagoon and house reef which is full of many different colourful fish including eagle rays and reef sharks. On one occasion i was able to watch a turtle swim close by our villa from our pool as the water was so clear. We used the app before our arrival to book experiences that we knew would be popular including dinner in the 5.8 underwater restaurant (wow!) and a visit to Dream Island where we enjoyed a picnic in our own piece of paradise. We booked the A.I. package and enjoyed excellent meals in Canneli, JFK and Kashibo. We also experienced the Beach Wine Dinner which is held every Wednesday and is a very special 'must do!' There was entertainment every evening in the Coco Bar which included the excellent duo - Ambaa, a deejay, and the Maldivian evening. All of the staff at Hurawalhi work tirelessly to make your stay special. Our waiter, Suhail, very kindly took me snorkelling in his free time and ensured that I was able to see turtles and other wonderful sea creatures around the house reef. I am so grateful to him for taking the time to be my snorkel buddy! We would also like to give a special mention to Barsha, Rasheed, Rohan, Pop and the ladies working at the Sulha Spa, all the hard working chefs, bar staff and Irey and his team for keeping our water villa so exceptionally clean and well stocked. This was planned as a 'Once in a Lifetime' trip to celebrate a special wedding anniversary, but, we are already planning to return in 2027. We cannot wait!!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hurawalhi Island Resort and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless and welcoming. The overwater villa was a highlight—beautifully designed, incredibly private, and waking up each morning to the ocean right at our doorstep was something really special. Being able to step straight into the water made the whole experience feel surreal. The snorkeling was fantastic. The reef was full of vibrant marine life, and we saw something new every time we went out. It’s perfect whether you’re experienced or just starting out. What truly made the trip stand out, though, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, it made us feel completely at home while still enjoying a luxury experience. Overall, it was a perfect getaway and we’d go back in a heartbeat.

Hurawalhi Island Resort absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way. It was an **11/10 experience** — truly phenomenal from start to finish! My husband and chose to have our Honeymoon at Hurawalhi and it was the best travel experience that has happened to us!!! It is truly a full emersion with nature that feels like that a complete paradise. Having travelled to over 30 countries, we can confidently say this was the*best travel experience we’ve ever had. 1. The nature and surroundings are completely out of this world — crystal-clear waters, endless ocean views, dolphins, rays, friendly sharks, turtles, coral reef, and a sense of peace that’s impossible to replicate. We stayed in an **Ocean Pool Villa with sunset views**, and every evening felt surreal, watching the sky transform over the horizon from our own private infinity pool. 2. The Underwater Sea Restaurant is a Must-Try as well as the swimming with the sharks, turtle watch, and manta search experiences. 3. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the exceptional service. A huge thank you to Anas, our truly exceptional island host, and Suhail, who volunteered to show us the treasures of the island and the coral reef in his free time. Anas and Suhail went above and beyond to make everything perfect and exceed all expectations. Their warmth, friendliness, dedication, attention to detail, and professionalism elevated the entire stay. The restaurant staff was so friendly as well - the master Chief Rahul was preparing our special breakfast requests ahead of time. Everyone at the sports center was also very helpful as the team volunteered to take videos and pictures of us under water to ensure we have lasting memories ! Hurawali was a perfect holiday for us. When we got on the seaplane it was always going to be a special holiday and it didn’t disappoint. We were greeted by general manager Mr Bahauddeen on the jetty and several other members of staff and drummed into the reception area, what a great welcome it was. We had a romantic ocean villa on the left side of the walkway which was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean. Out on the veranda we both said listen……. We couldn’t hear a sound only the waves lapping gently against the stilts of the water bungalow. We had beautiful weather every day of our visit and it was very hot on the veranda as the breeze was coming from the other side of the walkway so we had to dip in the sea or go in to the air con to cool down but this didn’t bother us too much at all and the sea was lovely anyway. Snorkelling was excellent with numerous fish,sharks,rays and turtles to be seen on a regular basis we went nearly every day. The highlight of our stay was definitely the food especially in the Canelli restaurant, for a buffet it was the best food I have ever eaten on a holiday. So many different choices and expertly prepared by the fabulous chefs. Lots of live cooking with fish, prawns, chicken and other meats. A really special mention now to Harshal the head chef who made me chicken fried rice of exceptional quality on several occasions and his stir fry dishes were also the best I have ever had thank you Harshal. The other chefs were also very accommodating and would do anything to enhance your dining experience at Canelli. Another special mention to Muragan a lovely man with a big smile. Several members of staff really stood out for us and these were Ruwindi, Barsha,and Suhail who also took us on a snorkelling trip one day. However the standout member of staff for us was the lovely Adam our waiter who would do absolutely anything for you and once we got chatting to him he really was a lovely man. We could laugh and joke with him and he was great company to be around. Thank you Adam for being such a lovely person to talk to we will definitely see you again. Other members of staff who were a pleasure to meet included Harry, Casmir and Tusa but all members of staff were very polite and always said hello when you met them anywhere. Our host

Our recent trip to Hurawalhi was our 16th resort in the Maldives. The island is beautiful will well kept vegetation and very fine white sandy beaches. We stayed in villa 121 which had a nice partially open view to the ocean. The pool was large and very warm which was especially nice at night although perhaps a little too warm for the afternoon so perhaps choose a more shady villa if this might be a problem for you. The Al package was incredible with a good choice of à la carte restaurants to choose from. The food was of a high standard and the choice of bottles of wines, spirits and cocktails was wider than most resorts we have been to to date Service was friendly and professional and our butler Akan was always on hand with plenty of useful advice and tips whenever we needed him. The main bar had a great chilled vibe and a great place to relax throughout the day. We opted for an evening dinner in the undersea restaurant which was a very special experience with amazing views of the drop off and the many fish that hung out there. We felt that the food there, whilst good could have been a little better considering the price (some of the dishes were lukewarm) but overall the views and the experience there more than made up for that. Our favourite restaurant was Kashibo. The food there was amazing and the views spectacular, especially at night as you sat right next to the water with some subtle underwater lighting that made for a wonderful evening. Snorkelling was excellent, especially from the supply jetty, with lots of sharks, rays, a few turtles, a napoleon fish and an octopus. Overall I would highly recommend Hurawalhi and would return again!
