Kurumba Maldives

Truly a paradise island! We have just returned from a 10 night stay at Kurumba and it exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a deluxe beachfront bungalow and woke up every morning with a dreamy view of the beautiful soft powdery white sandy beach, palm trees and stunning crystal clear turquoise sea. The service was incredible wherever we went on the island. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and hard working. I would like to give a special mention to the amazing Islomjon who worked at Thiri bar 1. Islomjon was so welcoming, attentive and worked nonstop. He is a truly exceptional member of the team! The Thiri bar was my favourite spot in the evenings to have a relaxed drink and watch the beautiful sunset. The food was excellent everywhere we ate. The buffet restaurant offered a huge variety, with freshly cooked seafood and meat prepared right in front of us by the chefs. Mahal, King Thai, and Thila were all fantastic and I would recommend them. There were lots of options for activities too, including snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding, fun tube, wake boarding, surfing, and lots more! There is also a PADI dive center on site if you want to go scuba diving. Abblo is one of the dive instructors and he was awesome! In summary, I can’t recommend Kurumba highly enough! I would return in a heartbeat.

Dear travellers , I would like to share a disgusting story with the Kurumba Resort and the Agoda service. On April 7th, I found an interesting offer on Agoda (screenshot attached), immediately booked two rooms, and bought flights for my family (2 adults and 2 children). I felt myself very angry when the next morning I received letters from both the hotel and the Agent that my reservations had been cancelled. My letters that I have already bought non-refundable flights, and expect to receive compensation in the form of a reservation of the same star rating and type of food, were refused (attached). All of my family especially my kids were full of stress after my message that our vacation is not going to happen at the moment. I strongly advise you to abandon the services of both Kurumba and Agoda, due to the complete lack of customer care I hope my negative experience will help someone else make an alternative choice, not in favor of Agoda or Kurumba resort.

Wow! What an absolutely incredible week we had in Kurumba. Everything about this hotel is 5-star and complete luxury. From the white-sand beaches and crystal-clear water just feet away from your private bungalow, to the exceptional choice of restaurants and drinks, the superb spa and gym facilities, and the watersports available such as kayaking and SUP, this is truly an incredible resort. However, the stand-out feature of the resort are the exceptional staff, who have gone above and beyond to ensure that every possible need is catered for. They are truly an exceptional team, and made us feel so special and welcome with extra to touches like remembering which drinks we like, or the chef coming out to show my wife the gluten-free options at every meal. We went with the dine-around all-inclusive option and would highly recommend it. Even though it felt expensive before arriving, there was an unparalleled luxury in being able to eat and drink as much as you liked without any worries about the price, and unlike most hotels, all-inclusive really did mean all-inclusive and there were no hidden surprises or costs, and the price also included complimentary kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling, yoga, excursions, laundry and even a photoshoot. We highly recommend it! The food was absolutely exceptional and a stand-out feature of the trip - we ate at all of the à la carte restaurants, the café and the buffet, and the food everywhere was outstanding, with great choice also for those who are gluten-free or have other dietary needs. As others have mentioned here, there are planes going by overhead all the time, which some people may not like. However, the trade-off for this is that the resort is only ten minutes from Malé Airport by boat, which we were very grateful for after a 12-hour flight! For a honeymoon resort, there are lots of families with young kids around, but this didn’t trouble us at all and we found that families were very respectful and kept quiet on the beach and at the pool. We are so grateful to all at Kurumba for making our honeymoon so special, and hope that we can return someday. Much love from Ireland! 🇮🇪❤️
