The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives

We had a wonderful week at this resort! There were a few things that could be improved — the app wasn’t very user-friendly, the concierge service could be more efficient, and there was a mix-up with our return transfer that almost got missed. But honestly, these are minor details that didn’t take away from our overall experience. It’s more a case of the hotel promising a bit more than it consistently delivers. That said, we truly had an amazing time. The Maldives are as stunning as ever, the house reef is absolutely incredible — full of marine life right by the water villas. The villas themselves are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff are warm and welcoming. However, the main reason I’m writing this review is the PADI center on the island — because diving with them was the absolute highlight of our trip. The dive center is fantastic. We took the Open Water course, and everything was handled perfectly. The team is friendly, the equipment is great, and the whole atmosphere is very relaxed and supportive. A special thank you to our instructor, Basma — she is truly outstanding! I take quite a lot of courses, and it’s super rare to come across such a wonderful teacher. She genuinely loves what she does and the underwater world, and it makes all the difference. Basma is kind, fun, calm, experienced and very responsible. Learning with her was an absolute joy — both incredibly useful and genuinely enjoyable! I’m beyond happy with the experience and would recommend Basma 1000% to anyone considering diving or taking a PADI course. You’ll be in the best hands ever!

I had an unforgettable stay at Standard Hotel Maldives, and I'm still buzzing from the incredible hospitality and service 😊. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was at home – it was like the staff were waiting to spoil me rotten! 🙏 Every single staff member was warm, welcoming, and smiling. What really blew me away was how they remembered my preferences and even cooked my favorite dishes. The food was insane! 🤯 Breakfast and dinner buffets were endless, and I was amazed by the spread – it's incredible they can serve such amazing food in the middle of the ocean! The villa was gorgeous, and the best part was spotting marine life and beautiful fish right outside my window 🐠. To the entire team at Standard Hotel Maldives, thank you for making my stay so special. I'd love to come back – this was truly an unforgettable experience 💕.

The Standard, Maldives is an absolute paradise for couples! The rooms are spotless, modern, and incredibly well-maintained. The views from the overwater villa are breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters and endless blue skies. The atmosphere is relaxed and luxurious, perfect for a romantic getaway. We had an unforgettable experience and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a dream vacation in the Maldives.

The first and the most important positive for the this very resort is the staff. Such a welcoming, warm people, they have made the entire stay seamless and comfortable. So credits to the staff, especially Mr. Shamaau Ahmed, who made sure to sort things out for us with extreme professionalism and respect. He was very kind and helpful, making sure everything has been handled appropriately. Special mention to Mr. Sai, from the Joos cafe staff. Couldn’t feel more comfortable like home and all credits to this man, Mr. Sai. He put extra efforts into making our stay worthwhile in terms of food and hospitality. Such a wonderful man and great professional. And the stay needs no stay, beautiful getaway with my family and best ever choice of resort. Surely coming back to this beautiful place and definitely recommending to others.

The Standard, Maldives From the moment we arrived, everything felt completely effortless, and that was thanks to Eva. She was our point of contact throughout the stay and made everything run smoothly from the start. Always available, efficient, and genuinely kind, which makes a big difference when you travel as a family. The island itself is beautiful, really beautiful. But what actually makes the difference here is the people. It’s also one of the few places that feels natural. There’s a proper reef, nothing artificial, and the sea life is incredible. You don’t need to plan anything, you just walk into the water and you’re already surrounded by it. The kids loved it. Very early into the trip, we started going out on the water. We did a private snorkeling with Hanim, and that was honestly one of the highlights of the week. He has a real instinct for the ocean and showed us things we would have never found ourselves. Everything felt easy, safe, and at the same time special. We also did a private turtle swim outside the reef, which was just amazing. For the excursions, Raph was our boat captain and made everything feel smooth and well organized from beginning to end. As the days went on, what really stayed consistent was how good every single interaction felt. At BBQ, Angela, Kuday and Rabbi created such a relaxed atmosphere that we kept going back. At Onda, Shak brought a great energy, and at Todis, Roshan made everything feel easy from the moment you sit down. Mikey handled the entertainment perfectly, always the right vibe, never too much. Our room boy, Rabbi, was impeccable. Everything always done, quietly and with care. And Lama at the kids club was incredible. The kids genuinely wanted to be there, which for us says everything. The food was also consistently very good. Chef Prasanna and Chef Gihan really delivered across all restaurants. By the end of the week, you realize it’s one of those places where everything just works. You feel taken care of without it ever feeling forced. The kids are happy, you can actually relax, and everything flows naturally. That’s what makes it special. One of the best weeks we’ve had. We’ll be back 🤍
