This was our first leg of the trip in Malta that we split between 3 different locations, so it was a bit confusing when we arrived straight from the airport and circled the hotel area a few times to find out that there is no way to actually drive up to it to drop off the luggage :) once we finally figured out the public parking garage we took our luggage and dragged it through the lively Republic Street - and once we were here for 4 nights we never looked back :) Location: I normally stay away from busier cities and centers but the fact that barely any cars really get into the areas where you can walk helps here to make it an absolute perfection, we really loved Valletta! The drive from the airport is about 20-30 minutes fairly easy drive to the public parking garage, and then about 5-10 minutes walk on the Republic Street - unless you don't hire then they can drop you closer to the hotel and you can probably moved your luggage up hill to get there. Plenty of amazing food places around, lots of good attractions, perfect location! The hotel can validate your parking tickets and it's just 10 EURO per day, so an excellent value - also don't worry about the Valletta City Tax for entering/leaving the area, it's included in the car rental already price (at least it was for us with Hertz) Room: we started with a nice bigger room but eventually requested a change as the window at night didn't fully close so it was too noisy from the street, in the second room we were facing the inner courtyard and the noise issues was resolved, though the room was a bit small - for just sleeping at night and exploration during the day it worked, but I was surprised we weren't offered the same level replacement that we started/paid for originally. The bed was nice and comfy, WiFi great, safe provided, some cable TV (though in the 2nd room the angle of the TV was impossible to watch really from the bed, unless you "sit sideways" :) (the pictures are of the first nicer room we had) Hotel Grounds: there is a restaurant/bar on the 1st floor (one above the ground floor where you check in) that is pretty cool courtyard setup, elevators take you to the other floors, during our January stay the top floor was renovated and off limits, sadly so we can't speak to that - otherwise there is a movie theater next door that is connected with the hotel Food & restaurants: breakfast was fairly simple, something for everyone, but I was slightly disappointed - best part was the freshly OJ and morning parfait rotation, nothing to rave about though otherwise. Restaurants in the area plentiful and amazing selection everywhere you go - we stayed 4 nights and had 4 excellent dinners (reviewed separately) Things to do: you are across the street from the St. John's Co-Cathedral, a couple minutes away from Grand Master's Palace, about 5 to 10 minutes walking distance on the Republic Street from the Upper Barrakka (and Lower too) Gardens - we stayed 4 nights and devoted 1 full day without moving the car, and you can easily do more since there is access to ferries down the elevator at the Barrakka Gardens and from there you can explore Three Cities or take a day trip to Gozo etc. Overall: a very pleasant stay and nice start to an amazing trip, Valletta is lively and full of great energy,

Just back from a short break in Malta and stayed at the embassy hotel. This without a doubt was the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing and stunning all the way through from the reception to rooftop, pool and room. The staff from the moment we opened the door, took our luggage and offered us complementary drinks. Check in was a breeze and everything was ready for us what we had requested. The room was not ready as we arrived very early in the morning but the hotel called us shortly after to advise us the room was ready. This was very soon after. We were Offered a place to refresh and change before our room was ready. The hotel offered us facilities such as spar tretments and private tours that were great the room was excellwnt and we had a triple room. The room had all luxury detailed with robes and slippers, coffee machine, fridge and ice water with fresh water machine just outside doorway. The room smelt absolutly stunning and when asked at reception was advised they had a fragrance made just for the hotel that could be purchased which bought. The location was centre to all the main atractions and areas to visit and could not have been better. The room was well insulated from noise and could not hear anything. Room had a door which opened to a juliet balcony and you could see up and down the streets which was lovely. We are looking at our next visit and will be back at the embassy for a longer break next time. Overall though it was absolutly the staff that made this fabulous for us.
