Allergen information was inconsistently applied across menus throughout our stay. At Kumin and Waves, several dishes listed nuts as ingredients without the corresponding allergen symbol, and the peanut chutney did not list peanuts or nuts under allergens at all. As guests with severe allergies, this created genuine discomfort and eroded trust in the menus. Clear, consistent allergen labelling is a safety matter and should be treated as such. We also found that drinks at the Nirvana pool bar were noticeably watered down — as guests not on the all-inclusive plan, this was particularly frustrating. When we asked the bartender to add more spirit the request was accommodated, but this should not require guest intervention. We were told food could not be taken away at restaurants and would need to be done as room service, with the explanation that items were “too hot” for takeaway. This policy felt arbitrary, and when the room-service dish arrived to the hotel room it was cold and an hour later than if we were able to do restaurant dish takeaway ourselves. Check-in also took approximately 45 minutes before we received any communication or status update; once a team member did engage with us, the room was ready within 5–10 minutes, suggesting the delay was in communication rather than room availability. Two smaller details also worth flagging: the Nirvana pool bar would benefit from improved ambient lighting after sunset, particularly as sunset aperitifs are offered — the current darkness diminishes what could be a standout experience — and the pool towel station at Nirvana was unstocked from our arrival at 12:40pm through at least 4:00pm. On a very positive note, the warmth of staff was a consistent and genuine strength throughout. Luxmi G at Waves was an exceptional hostess across all four of our visits, remembering us personally and making us feel genuinely welcomed each time. Meenakshi N at Jade was equally attentive and proactively recalled our allergy requirements, which was greatly appreciated. The Jade breakfast team member — an enthusiastic gentleman whose name we unfortunately did not catch — made every morning better. The Jade manager went above and beyond in organising a private All-White dinner and a special final-night dinner for us. Sevan (approximate spelling) thoughtfully set up a beautiful rose and swan arrangement in our room on the last night — a lovely personal touch. The WhatsApp reservation system was seamless and convenient, the welcome gifts left in our room as Marriott Elite members were a wonderful surprise, and the fruit skewers served at the Nirvana pool were a small but appreciated addition to the overall experience.

6 out of 5. Food at the resort at Nomad restaurant and Jade was fantastic. The staff is very kind and welcoming. Mr Nicolas and his team at Jade was excellent! Definitely recommend this place for family member to spend an amazing time in a resort in Mauritius.

From the moment you arrive you are greeted with a smile. After a few issues with our room. Which was sorted quickly by Jerome & Ishmael. We were in a sea view. Lovely big room with all amenities. Kept beautifully clean by Ourila Sheila & her great team. Thank you Sheila for all the lovely towel sculptures & trinkets. You were so sweet. We ate in Jade for breakfast & the odd evening meal all delicious. The staff are all amazing a big thank you to Roovin Meenakshi & Baboo..keep singing Baboo. We had the Tepenyaki twice while there which was delicious cooked by Chef Nawang. Great food great show!! There are 3 lovely restaurants plus the Buffett which all serve wonderful food. So much to choose from. We were in the adults only & the pool & bar was lovely the boys were excellent serving our food & drinks on the beach. There are a lot of activities which we enjoyed. Archery was my favorite great fun. The bar staff in the main bar are all so happy & have fun. The entertainment was good we loved the duo who sang. Dancers were amazing. I had reflexology in spa which I enjoyed. I brought a few things from the shop home. The Main thing about this hotel is the Amazing staff. They go out of their way to help you. It’s clean beautiful flowers everywhere. Keep up the good work. Thank you to all of the amazing management & staff. Till we see you again.

The resort is good and offers fair value, but what truly stands out is the staff. They are without a doubt the highlight of the experience. Across the resort, everyone goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and well taken care of. The pool staff are excellent and the Waves team is equally strong. That said, the Jade Restaurant team deserves special recognition. While the food was great, the service was exceptional. We were traveling with our energetic two year old and the team made a genuine effort to make us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay. Emilie in particular was outstanding. Our child absolutely adored her and spent the entire stay asking “where is Emilie?” which says everything. She brought a level of warmth and care that made a real difference. Santy, Vishaye and Leo were also fantastic and contributed to a truly memorable experience. Le Méridien is very fortunate to have such a dedicated and remarkable team.
