Le Meridien Ile Maurice

I visited for my honeymoon, and I was grateful for the kindness and hospitality of all the staff. The service was excellent, and the facilities were generally clean. The hotel has several restaurants, so you can choose to suit your taste, which was a huge plus. Above all, the sunset view was breathtaking, something I'll never see again. If I ever return to Mauritius, I'd love to stay here again. Thank you.

Had an amazing time from start to finish. The 5star service is second to none. Choice of restaurants was ample, with branded alcohol at all times. They go the extra mile to make your holiday special like a romantic meal on the beach or around the pool. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is fantastic!!!! You can be as healthy or naughty as you like. Even the food around the beach was very good, my partner had a pizza around the pool and it was far superior to a Dominos! The cocktail list is endless and sipping a Sea breeze whilst watching the sunset is something I will never forget. Spa is brilliant and has a fab sauna, steam and Ice room which we loved (especially after the couples massage which I would highly recommend). There’s even a lovely room to shower and if you arrive early/late with all toiletries and fluffy towels ready. It’s definitely one of the best holidays I have ever been on.

We spent 8 nights at Ile Maurice, and while the resort is rated five stars and sits on a beautiful sandy beach, it doesn’t quite deliver the luxury experience some reviews suggest. The resort is NOT accessible. There are no lifts. The beachfront is stunning, but the resort stretches over a kilometre. If walking long distances is a concern, request a room near the main building. Beware of the welcome drink if you take Simvastatin; it's grapefruit-based. The food was exceptional - they had a huge variety catering to all diets (they even had an Indian food station). When ordering decaf coffee at breakfast or drinks by the pool or beach, service is slow. Chefs are very helpful - ask them to cook a speciality for you and they will. The staff are very warm, helpful and friendly. Our room was not serviced daily, nor was the minibar regularly checked and restocked. Over 8 nights, the room was only serviced FOUR times, and one of them was due to me requesting it! We were offered a turn-down service once. Bathroom Design: The shaving mirror wasn’t extendable and lacked lighting, which made grooming tricky. The rain shower had no shelf for personal items, and the handheld shower lacked a swivelling bracket. Room Service A welcome bonus was the 24-hour room service menu—great for late arrivals or midnight cravings. It added a touch of convenience that we really appreciated. As smokers, we always smoke outside on the patio/balcony. This is the first resort I have ever stayed in that had no ashtrays on the balcony - we survived using a paper cup with sand - that we had to empty. At over a kilometre long, you could be allocated a room far from the main building. Ask for a room near to it. Toilets are inconveniently located. If you're on the beach, you’ll need to walk miles to the main pool or return to your room. The in-room iron had a round 2-prong plug that didn’t match the UK 3-pin socket they have. Guests might want to bring a universal adapter just in case. At this price point, basic daily room servicing should be standard. The lack of consistency in housekeeping and amenities was disappointing.
