Le Meridien Ile Maurice

We went to Le Meridien Ile Maurice in August 2025 last year. Weather was lovely - Sunny but not too hot. Hotel was also very chilled - Not noisy like other resorts we have been too even in the evenings. Laura W from Reception helped us both check-in and check-out. She was also very helpful every time we had questions about places to visit, etc. When we needed to activate our eSIM, they directed us to La Croisette in Grand Baie. There were quite a few shops and a food court there. You would need to take a taxi from the hotel to get there. Our room was nice - Very nicely furnished and felt luxurious. My only complaint was that the showers would leak (it was a design fault, and as such, the maintenance guys were not able to rectify) - The maintenance guys Mukesh and Gasser were kind enough to visit, and they are not at fault for this issue. It wasn't a big problem, we just put towels so the bathroom would not get flooded with the leak from the showers. Patricia (from Kenya) and the other cleaners were very kind and hardworking. We appreciate the clean rooms that we would come back to every afternoon/evening. Within the hotel, there were a few restaurants: Nomad (buffet), Jade (Asian), Kumin and Waves. Our favourites were Jade and Waves. Jade had sushi, and Asian-dishes. Waves had a baked Alaska and we had a few lovely meals in both of those restaurants. Ayush, Doris, Joseph O, Ritish at Nomad breakfast/dinners were always attentive to us. At Kumin, the servers Mesh, and Nitish were lovely. Jasper, Baboo, Sandy, Jordan M, Riaz R, Luxmi from Jade were also nice. Kelvin, Joseph, Deesant, Panchoo, Dighnesh from Waves made our visit nice. Outside the hotel grounds, there are a few quaint food places like La Cabana Nostra Food Shack. It was a good walk to get steps in. There are quite a few stray dogs around the area, but they don't necessarily bother you. Solomon by the pool was also very nice. We ordered our daily drinks from him whilst we lounged at the pool. We also contracted Akshay D for our tour to Chamarel, Chamarel Rum, Waterfall Le Monte. Geesika from Reception confirmed our late checkout, so we were grateful to relax for a bit more before our flight back to England. Haengo (nurse) was also helpful to me when I had questions whilst I was there. We had a lovely time in Le Meridien Ile Maurice. When we were there, we were able to use the app using our Marriott Bonvoy account. Only disappointment was because we booked this via another booking site (and not directly at Marriott), was that we did not get any Marriott Bonvoy for this travel, despite our enquiries and confirmation with the ladies at the Bonvoy counter whilst there that it will be credited. Wish they were more direct to us about this when we were there, rather than only confirming that we would not get the points once we were back home. Otherwise, our holiday was lovely, we would definitely be back again. Thank you to all the lovely staff! You made our first visit to Mauritius very memorable. We enjoyed our ten days there. Enjoy the waves, admire the mesmerizing sunsets, and be sure to try the Alaska dessert!🔥 We had a wonderful stay at the hotel in early March - a lovely time to visit: the weather was pleasantly changeable and never felt too hot. If you tend to value food highly when choosing a hotel, you can feel confident here. The cuisine has a character, offers a taste of local specialties, and provides enough variety to keep every meal interesting. We especially enjoyed dining at Waves, one of the three evening restaurants. It is well worth arriving a little earlier to get a table with a view of the sunset over the ocean. And yes, the Alaska dessert is served flambé-style — a memorable experience in itself. It is impossible not to notice how genuinely the team cares about your comfort, your impressions, and the memories you take away with you. That warmth made the hotel feel, in many ways, a little like home. Swimming in the sea can be somewhat challenging, as the water is mostly shallow and there is a chance of scraping your knees on stones or coral. Starting from the pier may be a better option, and coral shoes — which you can request at reception — are definitely worth considering. Our room also had a rather unusual design, but felt cozy and private, with a small garden and a mini pool of its own (we stayed in a Nirvana Suite). A heartfelt thank you to the entire hotel team for your care, attentiveness, good humor, and for resolving every little issue so smoothly. You made our stay truly special, and we will remember it with great warmth.

Meenashki and her colleagues were brilliant, lovely food and a warm welcoming atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble.
